keep dreamin man! come on think realistically, u cant depend on free agency to change the dynamics of a team. it starts with chemistry. an the knicks hav a chance to get lebron or wade but not both!
Haha they have the room and them two have talked about it the Knicks will be great in 2 years and the Raptors are going nowhere! We might just take Bosh from ya!
dats not gonna happen why wud bosh leave a playoff team for a shitty lottery team, i mean when da last time da knicks made da playoffs? cum on u noe they suck
Aight listen, if its about the money Bosh would stay put becuz the Raptors can offer him more money than any team out there. And also raptors are only 3.5 games back of 4th place, they will make a run this year, unlike the knicks
How can they pay more money? the Knicks can sign 2 maximum contract people next year plus if you play in New york you get looked at more! Who wants to play in Canada? seriously
Why he gets no pub! And you know your shit? Do you not understand the Knicks have the most cap space? Plus Canada sucks at everything we even beat them at hockey
u right he aint no bust. 2-4 year he will be a good sidekick like pippen or sth. he got the potential. with this years pick. and the 2k10 free agency... bright times come back to the garden.. .yeahhh boooyy
i truely think the knicks wasted their lotery pick on danilo, hes pretty good, but not good enough to be an all star, or close to one. Wilson chandler is way better. but i hop danilo proves me wrong and comes back in the 2009-2010 season and tears it up.
You can't call him a bust, he played all last season with a back injury. Now, if it is still bothering him next year then maybe you start talking about him being a bust.
Can't wait 2 c him at 100% next season(summer league if coach D lets him). his Bball IQ is astounding for his age (top 5 of rookies IQ wise) Feindlike ballhandling at that height 6"10(still growin) good hands(only defense), makes players around him better. great shooter. yes i'm a knicks fan. he'll b a suprise next season. negatives:not enough muscle,Defensive liability. I have much confidence in this kid. but yes we should of took Brook Lopez instead. i declare next season his rookie season.
Check his reaction when he scores great and difficoult shoots, no reactions at all right? this is cause he got balls and he focused, and this for me is more important than other things to prove is a fantastic prospect
this guy is junk just get over it the knicks rnt good this guy is soft the knicks should have taken eric gordon and this video does not prove that he is good
Actually this video proves three key things-- 1. he's more athletic than people think. 2.. he's a great shooter 3. and most important HE'S BETTER THAN U WILL EVER BE!!!!

Word, it's just a great white hope thing. This nigga a bum. Gordon, Lopez, the list goes on are waaaaaaaaaaay better. He might have been ok in Euroleague, but in the NBA, nigga is junk.
that still doest proof they arent soft because usually european players are soft but great shooters for example, dirk, andre bargiani, danilo gallinari, ginobili etc
That is such a bad sterotype lol Just because they are not big and black doesnt mean their soft. Bargnani is 265 lbs and bangs with centers and he has gotten in small fights with many big time players like Dwight and Vince Carter. He is rough as shit. Do you even watch him play haha
Ginobli - same deal. Not even sure What soft is any more. Ginobli is sloppy and not finess at all

Dude won't last a second in the NBA. Too soft and too unathletic. Agaisnt more athletic and longer defenders he's gunna be seein the bench till he decides to go back to the Euroleague
Minutes 2.42 to 2.46 or Repeated in Slow Motion at Minutes 2.54 to 2.57. That footwork and faking was BIRD-like!. Great Fundamentals by this 6`9 225 lbs Smallforward. Has IQ and has some Fundamentals ala 1980s Legendary Players.
As a Knicks fan I like this guy, he's not going to make as big of an impact as other international players like Dirk or Tony Parker, but he should be a solid player and I think he can help get a few more wins this season....hopefully something like 20-30-40 more wins..haha...
he can't be any worse for them than marbury, francis, curry, james, balkman, jeffries, richardson...is that enough? should i keep going? cuz i can if you want...
fatekke spencer hawes is a bust hahaha he will be better then the fag you guys picked the knicks have talent but they suck big headed players who think their all "franchise players" new yorkers sit down spencer hawes when started averaged 9.9 and 7.0 rebs per game as a rookie not bad for a rookie nice jumper nice footwork, best post moves coming out of the draft you knickaboogers are hella funny, you guys won't maKE THE playoffs for the next 980 yrs lol
well i couldnt understand much of what you said, but hawes averaged 4/3 which is really bad for the pick he was taken at. danilo has been playing as a pro since he was 16 and avged 20 ppg against guys 7-8 years older than him. he has so much potential. and what do the kings?? just kevin martin who is a player i like. you got rid of artest for nothing in a terrible deal.
4/3 for the whole season you have to factor in the minutes he was given come on buddy, he averaged close to 10 pts 7 rebs when brad miller was out for a couple of games and he started, danilo was playing in a euro league not the nba lol if kevin martin played against those chumps he would average 100 pts lol you can't compare a over seas league to the nba lmao & artest we just needed to dump the guy we got a , if danilo pans out then good im just stated my opinion
Don't be taken in by this kid's apparent lack of elegant moves. I see a variety of solid offensive skills, jumper, dunk, layup, reverse layup. He can pull up with the jumper or go to the hole and show you any one of 3 different moves. The reverse may look clunky but I think it will be very effective in the NBA. And maybe the main thing he's got that no other Knick has is passion. This guy clearly loves to play.
He won't be an instant franchise player, but should develop nicely over 2-3 years.
The Knicks need a hell of a lot more than a point guard. They need literally a whole new team and a new approach, which is what D'Antoni will gives them. Trades, shmades. Where has that gotten them? Every trade I.T. did made them worse, a bunch of fat, lazy, egotistical, mismatched losers. Right now the Knicks don't even have a player outside Lee that anyone wants.
They need to build a new team from the ground up and that will take a minimum of 2-3years until they can be a playoff team.
The Italian League is considered to be as good or better competition than the NCAA, if you guys want some perspective. Still, watching the video, I kept on thinking "he's not going to able to do that in the NBA; NBA defenders aren't going to fall for that; etc." He'll really have to reinvent his game.
yo how can u pick this guy over bayless or augustine!!!!The knicks dont need a foward that plays no defense or cant rebound. They need a point guard!!
Knicks need a lot of things a point guard a real center that can play defense and rebound, a real play with IQ not with high jump! but Gallinari is a real good player he can play a lot of rules!
But lets not kid ourselves... This highlight reel showed us nothing except that he can shoot an NBA mid-range shot that in Italy is considered a 3 Pointer and that he can dunk, which at 6'9" - 6' 10" i would hope he could do... Hopefully the pick pans out and is a justifiable 6th overall pick but this highlight gives us no reason to hope that it will...smh
He most certainly can not "drive well." In 2 of the clips he lost his dribble and the man guarding him was just a poor defender. I certainly hope that he pans out. people are saying Dirk Nowitzki, and while i really really really dislike Dirk, on the current Knicks team I'd love to have him.
I almost committed suicide when the knicks drafted him. Fuck D'iantoni. No other team in the NBA would have drafted this dipshit at 6th overall and definitely not ahead of Eric Gordon who is 120x better than him. Another fucking Stiff.
I was cut when the knicks drafted him but the more I look into him the more I like him, as long as he does end up 6-11, bulks up a bit and grabs some boards at Power Forward. He will get smoked at the 2 or 3. It might take a little time but he could end up some where between nowitzki and kukoc, a great pick up at 6. Welcome to the knicks "Thunder Dan-ilo"
He's perfect fit for the run & gun type of team this coach likes, and the fact that he's Italian should make him feel right at home.
Yes he needs to bulk up a bit, but he's a small forward not a power forward, regardless of how tall he grows. He may even be a swingman, playing the 2 and 3. Don't look for him to get a lot of boards. That's not his game. If he's really going to help the Knicks he'll do it by putting points on the board, and by using his great court vision to spot the open man.
Some good points there and that is all well and good in the regular season, but in the big games it is vital to not have defensive liabilities, Can you serously see Danilo marking up on Kobe or LeBron?!? ugly. Yes I agree his skills point towards a swing player at the moment, but to be a real playoff performer he will need to play at the 4 or not at all in the big games. Skills can be learned (and he looks like a natural talent) but lateral quickness is unlikely to improve much in a 19 year old.
This coach is not known for paying a lot of attention to defense. He plays run and gun all the way. This is not going to be your father's Knick's team ... not in a couple of years anyway.
Like it or not, the philosophy is going to be, "if they score 120, we'll score 130."
The kid is a SF and will always be, the Kicks should use his excellent court vision and IQ to turn him into a point forward. He's also a better defender than most think he is. Not great 1on1 defense but an outstanding team defender. Making up on Kobe and Lebron? Who in the league can do that? Those are players you simply cannot guard 1on1!
Best NBA comparisons for Gallinari could be Tom Gugliotta or Lamarr Odom, depending on what the Knicks will ask him, but at 19 he's way more ready than them.
Best NBA comparisons for Gallinari could be Tom Gugliotta or Lamarr Odom,
______________________________
I like him, but I'm thinking Hedo Turkoglu. Hedo has taken about eight years to come into his own in the NBA, though I think Gallinari will reach that level in 2-3. Won't be a franchise player, but a solid swingman is a real possibility. He'll add a dimension the Knicks don't currently have. Will eventually start putting up some nice numbers.
He probably won't be a Superstar or a Franchise player but he will be valuable. He could be a great second option to a LeBron James, if he does come to NY in 2010.
Let's not get carried away. He's not a less talented Bostjan Nachbar, but he won't be ROY either.
I don't know if he's a "project" or not, but he's still just 19 and he's not a natural born franchise player like LeBron. It will take him at least 2-3 years to start having real impact ... but it will eventually happen.
What I like best about him is his shot selection and his ability to create open shots for himself. He's the real deal.
i like his skillset, his dribbling is great for a big. He can drive well also and throw it down too. He reminds me a lot of what hedo turkoglu has come to be this year, he might be a pretty good inside/outside threat. Big question is...how is his D?
once again ney yorkers are a bunch of dopes who judge this person as a bad player because hes from the euroleague but then again euroleage is tougher then NCAA =)
Joe Alexander? This guy and his Mountaineers needed a OT win vs St Johns to end the year prior to the tourney.........And St Johns stinks(Coming from a Johnnie fan)
These highlights don't mean anything. You could easily make a mix on Eddy Curry or Zach Randolph highlights and they'd probably look even better, not kidding. I'm not hating on Gallinari, and I'm obviously not high on him either. But I'd like him to prove me wrong. Besides, at the 6th pick, he was probably already the best we could have gotten.
Arg is this is his best, the Knicks are screwed. Im telling you the truth guys, all these moves you saw him make in Gallinari make in this video wont work in the NBA. NBA players and defence is much better than the guys Gallo was playing.
lol.. most NBA players can jump so high their Waists are at the rim, but you dont see that often becuase doing that in a game is unfeesable. Its about consistancey, they arent going to waste their energy in one dunk. Most of the knicks players armpits can reach the rim, and some of them suck.
man u americans talk so much shit...you dont want to admit european contribution 2 nba...from drazen petrovic, to kukoc to stojakovic, kirilenko, turkoglu, sabonis...u r all racist...okay people like milicic is euro bust...but then kwame brown is nba bust etc..anyways europe will show amerika basketball leson in olimpic...its not about dunking, dribbling like you think...it is about passing, shooting, defending and easy baskets.when usa loses to europe team like jugoslavija 2002 or greece 2006
But its not Olympic rules.. Gallo is going to be playing NBA rules. Looking at this video and its listed as the best.. I doubt itll work in the NBA, he has to get much much better. Gallo was very fast in the video compared to the Opponents. But to me it looked very slow, compared to the NBA.
ur an idiot the US is gonna shit all over all the european teams this year....those teams you are referring too were poorly constructed and were not even close to as good as the team we have now....i doubt any of the european teams will even keep a game close in the olympics vs this team
That bank-job three pointer at 3:15 was a joke. Some of the shots he made in this video weren't quality looks. He misses those shots more often than not. Good form when he sets his feet for a shot though. Quick release. Not very quick or elusive. I hope he learns how to play defense.
Too me he looks timid. He isn't too explosive...As I Knick fan I feel empty. We should have gotten a PG. I think Gallinari would have made NJ Net or west coast team, but NY? I'm not sure...
Wow he is pro o.o

the song is just horrible. I'd never imagine someone can turn one of the best songs of all times into such a boring crap.
About Gallinari- he kind of reminds me Manu Ginobili with his "my knee into your chest" drive. So he could have really nice career in NBA
RumFighter 3 years ago
He not gonna be bustin those moves in the nba, he gonna get swatted every shot even his dunks. i dont think hes strong enough

he's on the NEW YORK KNICKS now, yea!
bulls7123 3 years ago
As a Knicks fan I like this guy, he's not going to make as big of an impact as other international players like Dirk or Tony Parker, but he should be a solid player and I think he can help get a few more wins this season....hopefully something like 20-30-40 more wins..haha...
helps that he has the same birthday as me..8/8

best year of the knicks...
richardson
jeffries
balkman
marbury
crawford
francis
curry
just joking men....
this lineup is sucks!!
normanpogi23 3 years ago
another poor year by knicks...
picking this guy is useless for them..
normanpogi23 3 years ago
this guy is going to be a huge bust now new york is going to suck for 10 more years nice going
paramountey 3 years ago
he can't be any worse for them than marbury, francis, curry, james, balkman, jeffries, richardson...is that enough? should i keep going? cuz i can if you want...
radicallypoetic10 3 years ago
simmer down fag, i wouldnt be talking seeing as how your sacremento queens took spence hawes (who is the definition of bust)
FTekke 3 years ago
fatekke spencer hawes is a bust hahaha he will be better then the fag you guys picked the knicks have talent but they suck big headed players who think their all "franchise players" new yorkers sit down spencer hawes when started averaged 9.9 and 7.0 rebs per game as a rookie not bad for a rookie nice jumper nice footwork, best post moves coming out of the draft you knickaboogers are hella funny, you guys won't maKE THE playoffs for the next 980 yrs lol
paramountey 3 years ago
well i couldnt understand much of what you said, but hawes averaged 4/3 which is really bad for the pick he was taken at. danilo has been playing as a pro since he was 16 and avged 20 ppg against guys 7-8 years older than him. he has so much potential. and what do the kings?? just kevin martin who is a player i like. you got rid of artest for nothing in a terrible deal.
FTekke 3 years ago
4/3 for the whole season you have to factor in the minutes he was given come on buddy, he averaged close to 10 pts 7 rebs when brad miller was out for a couple of games and he started, danilo was playing in a euro league not the nba lol if kevin martin played against those chumps he would average 100 pts lol you can't compare a over seas league to the nba lmao & artest we just needed to dump the guy we got a , if danilo pans out then good im just stated my opinion
paramountey 3 years ago
hell nah , danilo is gunna be way betta then kevin martin

danillo is gonna be a taller version of Joe Johnson, but he will be a better rebounder n maybe shooter.
davidwb2009 3 years ago
Ummm Joe Johnson is a great shooter... I would compare him to a Hedo Turkoglu.

hes gonna do good about 12 a game hes rookie year
arock15 3 years ago
Don't be taken in by this kid's apparent lack of elegant moves. I see a variety of solid offensive skills, jumper, dunk, layup, reverse layup. He can pull up with the jumper or go to the hole and show you any one of 3 different moves. The reverse may look clunky but I think it will be very effective in the NBA. And maybe the main thing he's got that no other Knick has is passion. This guy clearly loves to play.
He won't be an instant franchise player, but should develop nicely over 2-3 years.
odetter88 3 years ago
The Knicks need a hell of a lot more than a point guard. They need literally a whole new team and a new approach, which is what D'Antoni will gives them. Trades, shmades. Where has that gotten them? Every trade I.T. did made them worse, a bunch of fat, lazy, egotistical, mismatched losers. Right now the Knicks don't even have a player outside Lee that anyone wants.
They need to build a new team from the ground up and that will take a minimum of 2-3years until they can be a playoff team.
odetter88 3 years ago
I almost started crying when the knicks picked this nigguh.. We already have ppl that cant defend or rebound! why get more players like that??!?!?
If dantoni can teach this kid AT LEAST defense, I might be persuaded that the Knicks got a good pick..
vampireslayer561 3 years ago
The Italian League is considered to be as good or better competition than the NCAA, if you guys want some perspective. Still, watching the video, I kept on thinking "he's not going to able to do that in the NBA; NBA defenders aren't going to fall for that; etc." He'll really have to reinvent his game.
dear1337er 3 years ago
man i dont kno.....knicks need trades..cant rely on this kid
aznman2000 3 years ago
yo how can u pick this guy over bayless or augustine!!!!The knicks dont need a foward that plays no defense or cant rebound. They need a point guard!!
anothablend 3 years ago
Knicks need a lot of things a point guard a real center that can play defense and rebound, a real play with IQ not with high jump! but Gallinari is a real good player he can play a lot of rules!
marocchesi 3 years ago
But lets not kid ourselves... This highlight reel showed us nothing except that he can shoot an NBA mid-range shot that in Italy is considered a 3 Pointer and that he can dunk, which at 6'9" - 6' 10" i would hope he could do... Hopefully the pick pans out and is a justifiable 6th overall pick but this highlight gives us no reason to hope that it will...smh
jd90388 3 years ago
He most certainly can not "drive well." In 2 of the clips he lost his dribble and the man guarding him was just a poor defender. I certainly hope that he pans out. people are saying Dirk Nowitzki, and while i really really really dislike Dirk, on the current Knicks team I'd love to have him.
jd90388 3 years ago
I almost committed suicide when the knicks drafted him. Fuck D'iantoni. No other team in the NBA would have drafted this dipshit at 6th overall and definitely not ahead of Eric Gordon who is 120x better than him. Another fucking Stiff.
knickszfan3 3 years ago
I was cut when the knicks drafted him but the more I look into him the more I like him, as long as he does end up 6-11, bulks up a bit and grabs some boards at Power Forward. He will get smoked at the 2 or 3. It might take a little time but he could end up some where between nowitzki and kukoc, a great pick up at 6. Welcome to the knicks "Thunder Dan-ilo"
awsemo4thousand 3 years ago
He's perfect fit for the run & gun type of team this coach likes, and the fact that he's Italian should make him feel right at home.
Yes he needs to bulk up a bit, but he's a small forward not a power forward, regardless of how tall he grows. He may even be a swingman, playing the 2 and 3. Don't look for him to get a lot of boards. That's not his game. If he's really going to help the Knicks he'll do it by putting points on the board, and by using his great court vision to spot the open man.
odetter88 3 years ago
Some good points there and that is all well and good in the regular season, but in the big games it is vital to not have defensive liabilities, Can you serously see Danilo marking up on Kobe or LeBron?!? ugly. Yes I agree his skills point towards a swing player at the moment, but to be a real playoff performer he will need to play at the 4 or not at all in the big games. Skills can be learned (and he looks like a natural talent) but lateral quickness is unlikely to improve much in a 19 year old.
awsemo4thousand 3 years ago
This coach is not known for paying a lot of attention to defense. He plays run and gun all the way. This is not going to be your father's Knick's team ... not in a couple of years anyway.
Like it or not, the philosophy is going to be, "if they score 120, we'll score 130."
odetter88 3 years ago
The kid is a SF and will always be, the Kicks should use his excellent court vision and IQ to turn him into a point forward. He's also a better defender than most think he is. Not great 1on1 defense but an outstanding team defender. Making up on Kobe and Lebron? Who in the league can do that? Those are players you simply cannot guard 1on1!
Best NBA comparisons for Gallinari could be Tom Gugliotta or Lamarr Odom, depending on what the Knicks will ask him, but at 19 he's way more ready than them.
Mightymac14 3 years ago
Best NBA comparisons for Gallinari could be Tom Gugliotta or Lamarr Odom,
______________________________
I like him, but I'm thinking Hedo Turkoglu. Hedo has taken about eight years to come into his own in the NBA, though I think Gallinari will reach that level in 2-3. Won't be a franchise player, but a solid swingman is a real possibility. He'll add a dimension the Knicks don't currently have. Will eventually start putting up some nice numbers.
odetter88 3 years ago
He probably won't be a Superstar or a Franchise player but he will be valuable. He could be a great second option to a LeBron James, if he does come to NY in 2010.
knicks3085 3 years ago
less talented Bostjan Nachbar? You don't know anything.
Danilo is not a project, this kid is ready to play for the Knicks and he will prove you people wrong.
This kid is tough and has alot of passion for the game. Plus his intangibles and basketball IQ are off the charts!
Danilo for ROY!

Danilo for ROY!
_____________________________
Let's not get carried away. He's not a less talented Bostjan Nachbar, but he won't be ROY either.
I don't know if he's a "project" or not, but he's still just 19 and he's not a natural born franchise player like LeBron. It will take him at least 2-3 years to start having real impact ... but it will eventually happen.
What I like best about him is his shot selection and his ability to create open shots for himself. He's the real deal.
odetter88 3 years ago
He looks like a younger, less talented Bostjan Nachbar. Seriously.
shinchan0s 3 years ago
hopefully he has a career as good as kukoc. cant expect anymore. no hang time at all, not enough bulk to rebound or play in post.
StandupShowcase 3 years ago
This is his best?? Not impressed. Why are you showing him catching alley-oops? Anyone his size could do that.
mkel987 3 years ago
i like his skillset, his dribbling is great for a big. He can drive well also and throw it down too. He reminds me a lot of what hedo turkoglu has come to be this year, he might be a pretty good inside/outside threat. Big question is...how is his D?
lc95ex 3 years ago
Hes not a MVP type player. Hes the kinda guy that can hit a shot on the dime and score when you need him. Hes a 20 10 kinda guy.

Joe Alexander? This guy and his Mountaineers needed a OT win vs St Johns to end the year prior to the tourney.........And St Johns stinks(Coming from a Johnnie fan)

If this player learns how to be quicker, and stronger on defense he will be a great player.
nyknicks126 3 years ago
you cant learn to be quicker ...

Quicker and stronger on his feet on defense.. Read better.
nyknicks126 3 years ago
These highlights don't mean anything. You could easily make a mix on Eddy Curry or Zach Randolph highlights and they'd probably look even better, not kidding. I'm not hating on Gallinari, and I'm obviously not high on him either. But I'd like him to prove me wrong. Besides, at the 6th pick, he was probably already the best we could have gotten.

Arg is this is his best, the Knicks are screwed. Im telling you the truth guys, all these moves you saw him make in Gallinari make in this video wont work in the NBA. NBA players and defence is much better than the guys Gallo was playing.
treecheetahdolo 3 years ago
I'm sure. THE BEST ROOK2009.
dukafranz 3 years ago
at the draft they could of picked better highlights like in this one highlight he shook a dude made him fall and hit a three.
or when he jumped so high for a dunk his armpits were at rim.
kyle16152007 3 years ago
lol.. most NBA players can jump so high their Waists are at the rim, but you dont see that often becuase doing that in a game is unfeesable. Its about consistancey, they arent going to waste their energy in one dunk. Most of the knicks players armpits can reach the rim, and some of them suck.

man u americans talk so much shit...you dont want to admit european contribution 2 nba...from drazen petrovic, to kukoc to stojakovic, kirilenko, turkoglu, sabonis...u r all racist...okay people like milicic is euro bust...but then kwame brown is nba bust etc..anyways europe will show amerika basketball leson in olimpic...its not about dunking, dribbling like you think...it is about passing, shooting, defending and easy baskets.when usa loses to europe team like jugoslavija 2002 or greece 2006
islamablad 3 years ago
But its not Olympic rules.. Gallo is going to be playing NBA rules. Looking at this video and its listed as the best.. I doubt itll work in the NBA, he has to get much much better. Gallo was very fast in the video compared to the Opponents. But to me it looked very slow, compared to the NBA.
treecheetahdolo 3 years ago
ur an idiot the US is gonna shit all over all the european teams this year....those teams you are referring too were poorly constructed and were not even close to as good as the team we have now....i doubt any of the european teams will even keep a game close in the olympics vs this team
cbenz37 3 years ago 2
That bank-job three pointer at 3:15 was a joke. Some of the shots he made in this video weren't quality looks. He misses those shots more often than not. Good form when he sets his feet for a shot though. Quick release. Not very quick or elusive. I hope he learns how to play defense.
overthewall11 3 years ago
Too me he looks timid. He isn't too explosive...As I Knick fan I feel empty. We should have gotten a PG. I think Gallinari would have made NJ Net or west coast team, but NY? I'm not sure...
