you guys rock,,,,,,u werent to fast with the tempo...thats just being smart,,,u guys,,gene and paul, are the most talented guys this world has ever seen, people wont understand until youre gone,,and then they will understand,, awesome talented guys ur !!!
KISS was all about the stage show. Their music itself was so thin. Imagine if they looked the way they did and played rock at the level of a band like Blue Oyster Cult. Now THAT would have been scary. But visually, these guys went further than anyone in '74.
@badkarma1967 I was 9 then and saw this at my grandma's. She never missed Mike Douglass, but she had no idea what KISS was at the time. I had my first KISS album shortly thereafter.
I was about 11 years old when this aired and I LOVED IT! I first saw KISS on the Midnight Special and was a huge fan. That is, until I grew up : ) Then discovered REAL music like Van Halen. I haven't considered myself a KISS fan in about 30 years. But, you can't beat the early KISS era. 1974-1976.
Mike Douglas was on in the middle of the day, like 11 am or 1pm later if I remember on CBS. But you'd have to check an old tv guide pdf to be sure. anyway the audience was hugh be national show and all. especially the summer back when kids had 3 months off ;) hehehe loved the 70's. even if I was only 5 :)
I respectfully think you miss the point. These guys were just self-marketers of epic proportions...its about tailoring a product to your market and packaging it to sell. I don't think Stanley Eisen (Paul Stanley) and Chaim Wietz (Gene Simmons) would disagree with me for a second.
Wtf???? So many people talking shit about kiss? Who cares how good they are at playing their music. They are a show band. Maybe the best in the world. Go to a kiss concert and you'll see.
i always thought this was a joke band cartoon rock. i was never part of the kiss army, piss poor musicians. led zepplin deep purple, and thank god for black sabbath. KISS my ass
i worked for them, theyve got more money than either of us combined. but you must admit that 5% is DAMN good, dispite the fact that almost any high school garage band has around the same musical talent. it aint about the music its about the business. i love kiss
Fucking idiotic title of the video. Why write it in a mix of small and big letters? and what with the "(Kiss) Army"? The army wasn't even found in 74...

you might want to re-think your "grown up" attitude. I was in Quebec last Thursday and 80,000 Kiss fans and I can't be wrong.
maryquant1967 2 years ago
Yeah... that's true but I think it's far more a "nostalgia" thing than anything else.
dajzilla 2 years ago
Don't be so sure.... if you weren't there.
How nostalgic can children be? The audience was filled with people from every age bracket and seemed to be mostly 40 and under.
maryquant1967 2 years ago
But I was there. And it was for nostalgia. And the audience was made up of 45-55 year old fans.
Just kidding : )
dajzilla 2 years ago
you did go? that's great.
I thought the people of Quebec City were incredibly cool.

I still say this band is 95% smoke and mirrors and 5% music; and decent music, at best.
hotprofdude 3 years ago
Hey that's all a magician is.. a little slight of hand.. mirrors to make an elephant disappear... no real magic... but its still fab to see.
And KISS.. I like the music.. but the visual really does give you some BANG for your buck..
