  • Welcome to the Youtube uploads, my friend.

Enjoyed a look around your shack/workshop.

I'm very surprised you rate the Yaesu above the Kenwood TS2000.

I own a TS2000E full line up as a back up and think it's superb.

  • @m0ogy Hello Dave thanx for the comment. The ts2000 is a nice radio but its got a high noise floor on hf compaired to the ft847. I use my ts2000 on vhf uhf it works really well there but I still think the 847 has the edge on receive. I did read somewhere that the preamp on the ts2000 has to be used all of the time that doesnt help with the noise level.

Nice to talk to u again Dave take care mate.

  • @g1fsh I use my TS2000 for VHF also and have never realy used it on HF ,prefering my Icom IC756 PRO3 and my ever trusty Yaesu FT1000D.

I also have a fully speced up IC910HX that runs rings around any VHF/UHF radio.

    Thanks for your reply

  • Welcome along to the radio repair (bodgit and leggit more like) community on the Youtube. I was inspired too by thecobraman to start fixing and modifying rado gear. Have the ham ticket too, but i still love CB. Spend most of my time repairing and modifying old CB rigs. Drop by my channel and have a look mate. Any mate of Mark's is a mate of mine.....
