Get rich quick schemes are generally illegal, so to get around the law some shyster thinks up some real stupid idea like the Tornado. But what's so good about it is that many people are too ignorant to question and find out that the device is a sham before they buy it....so the shyster ends up selling a semi trailer load of them and banking the cash and nobody complains as it didn't cost that much anyway ..only like $20..so the law doesn't come knocking and they get away with the scam..easy huh
@Abreen11 Well actually there isn't anything the police can do. Pay close attention to the man's claims and how he words them. He does not at any point actually state that the product will improve your fuel mileage. He implies it but because he does not actually state it his product is not failing to meet any of his claims as he has stated them. This is how he gets away with it.
This device has been tested hundreds and hundreds of times. This bit of snake oil has NEVER shown to increase gas mileage ever. If it really worked, it would be installed on EVERY car and truck.
I bought a used car and I found one of those while taking a look at the throttle body. I was pissed not because it was there, but that the previous owner was that stupid!
Man, with a name of jerk like this, who will believe in that crap? You should have been badly abused, I mean a huge one, so you lost the sense of reality, to come out with a stupid video like that!
i have a 1999 chevy tracker and bought a generic one of these on ebay for like $8! i was getting 22mpg, but now with it i get 26-27MPG!!!!!! paid for itself on the first fill up! my buddy has the one like in this video on his jeep and says his don't work!
I put two (one for each intake hose) on my 89 Ford F150 5.0L, noticed no increase in either seat-o-the-pants power and no measureable MPG increase over a 2 years worth documentation. Bottom line it didn't do anything noticable for me. I got mine on a clearance rack at Napa for $3 each. Popular Mechanics debunked this and other products like it. Oh Sam, why endorse a snake oil product.
More likely that this device is restricting airflow, just like the restricter plates used in NASCAR. Sure there is a whirlwind in your air intake, but it has to go through so many turns the vortex is gone, by the time it reaches your injectors. Like trying to cool a house using only 1 fan, or trying to get a tornado to go around corners. A device like this MIGHT work on top or better below a carberator, Then the fuel would have time to really mix with the air, vaporizing the fuel better.
i put one of these in my 77 f150 with a 351m..original millage went from 12 mpg to 70 mpg.and also ..my exhaust now smells sweat and drops flowers on the ground as i drive ..and my stereo plays much better too ...and it can also core A apple too,,thanks tornado
This product is counter productive to the way auto companies engineered the intakes. If turning the air in to a vortex made any real difference, you'd see them on the vehicle from the factory. But in fact, you get better fuel economy without it due to the air having more momentum, thus moving more air, in turn creating more power. This thing is just another scam for soccer moms and people who dont know better to buy in to. I bet that guys a millionaire of this junk too!
This product really does work, how it does this is by making your wallet thinner. You can do whatever you want to air .vortex or not, just a pile of crap. You want to save money on your gas bill, put an egg under the gas pedal.
This product really does work, how it does this is by making your wallet thinner. You can do whatever you want to air .vortex or not, just a pile of crap.
For shame. This guy endorsing these products. He knows it does not do anything to save fuel and whatever other claims it has. He's just being paid to advertise it. He should hang his head in shame for perpetuating the scam. His producers make him endorse it. He gets paid to endorse it. He makes money while you lose money to a scam.
@way2easy2love 2hp isn't that noticeable.... But yes, these devices only restrict air flow, and generally decrease gas mileage and power. Putting ANYTHING inside your intake system on a NA car that restricts flow will do that... I just can't believe people actually think this stuff works.
@way2easy2love That's because your motor was not efficient enough to produce the power needed to diffuse the water....the electricity you need to use the HHO cell is generated from your alternator which is ran from your motor...You need a hefty power source to make it worth while....Just cause it didn't work for you doesn't mean it doesn't work at all...C'mon bro
@Deciblaster really u think its still may work why do they make paper filters then why doesnt it come factory if its an improvement so cheap that the car company can make for 5 cents and sell already on the car for 500 more bucks
@doobydocter45 Seriously? They have enough trouble keeping these retards from blowing themselves up when filling it with gasoline, let alone putting a cell full of hydrogen gas under the hood too... Too much risk for a small add-on profit for the auto companies...Screw it, I will try it for sure...the only way to know is to test it for myself. Because the actual theory makes perfect sense, the proportions and the details is what makes or breaks a good experiment...
I wonder how much the company paid him to endorse their product? The device does not do anything for gas mileage. A spinning column of air creates a low pressure area, not good for a car. A car works better when the air pressure is increased, not reduced. That's why a turbo charger gives you greater horsepower, it increases the air pressure in the carburetor. This is a SCAM folks. Dont waste your money.
I purchased 2 of these worthless gadgets for my 5 liter F-150 (required 2 because of the dual-throttle body intakes). I noticed an immediate decrease in prformance , sluggish acceleration, funny wheezing sounds when standing near the front of the truck. Ripped the damned things out the same day i put em in! threw them in the RECYCLING BIN (they can recycle stainless steel i hope).
i made homemade tornado fuel saver and it works great... it increases power at low rpms but decreases at high rpms.. also the smaller hole the speed of air incereases and mixes gases better...
Nationally know mechanic that we paid good money to so he would say how great out product is.
These things don't work. The only mileage changes I've ever seen is from people driving differently because they're looking for a change. Instead of going thorugh the trouble of ordering one of these just stick the money they cost into the intake. It'll be the same amount of performance gain. And, that change might even do something intersting...
air flows the easiest route possible. its like lightning. if the easiest route was to spin, it would spin without help. this product is horseshit not researched or fully thought through.
@1214joel i could see how these *might* work in single-barrel carb engine. But the "swirling air" still slams into the butterfly valve and gets re-stablized before entering the intake manifold. So, its still highly doubtful. Id like to hear someones testimony with that application.
It spins your air and fuel? That means it does the same thing a centrafuge does. Any time you spin a fuel and air mixture, the heavier of the two will pull away. This caused the air and fuel to separate, just the opposite of what you want in a engine.
After installing the Tornado, my fuel economy increased from 14 MPG to well over 50! After installing the Tornado, the rip on my seat fixed itself and ice cream tastes sweeter! My soul is no longer doomed to hell! Thank you Tornado!

Ok, so you may be able to fool people into thinking that this saves fuel. But how does it "improve driveability"? the vortex of air affects the drag and therefore maneuverability, right? Oh, and driveability isn't a word according to google spell-check :)
wow i own a ford f150 and it absolutely does shit i wasted that much money on a peace of shit thanks for sharing this great bullshit tornado and no i will not tell my friends with high gas prices. :}
@apchagi1 Does it really work? Because I made a "Gas4Free" system, and well, it does make a flamable gas bubbles, I didn't install it yet, I already have the EFIE's for my car's O2 sensors.
If this thing *really* works then why haven't the manufacturer(s) taken up James Randi on his always-available $1 million dollar challenge?
Out of all the claims these manufacturers make about increasing fuel economy, all any one of them has to do is show proof-positive to James Randi and he will issue a check in the amount of one million dollars.
For decades this offer has remained totally unchallenged. So IF this device works why haven't they stepped up to claim the money??
swirling or vortex is necessary inside the combustion chamber to mix air/fuel... on the intake side, air must have laminar flow. Turbulence on the intake side limits the passage of air that an engine can ingest. On race car engines, they do intake manifold porting to increase intake volume and make the lining as smooth as possible to avoid turbulence... to avoid tornado effect....
For some engines these things might work, but in reality:
1. You CAN'T install them after the throttle body which is part of the manifold..
2. Diverting anything - even airflow - means diverting and reducing energy. You're slowing down (and NOT compressing either) the intake air.
3. If somehow the air vortex DID make it past the throttle plate, then with carbies your fuel would be spun out of the airstream onto the plenum walls.. like many air filter boxes use to remove dust particles..!
im a retired master tech of 22 yrs and I know they dont work. they assist very little on carbed engines and none on FI engines. the fuel is directly injected into the cylinders by the injectors, swirling the air clear up in the air intake hose does nothing at all but help increase how fast the air comes in. the computer uses the map or mas sensor to determine how long the injector pulse width is.
@sicaudiocolorado I'm a retired car and engine designer and its called a Chevy Vortec for a reason! The product helps aid the fuel vaporization process by increasing how fast the air comes into the combustion chamber. There you go you said it yourself! Faster air speed equals better vaporization of the fuel so that it can burn better.
I use Spiralmax, they have a better design than the Tornado and you can use more than one for even more power. Position blades towards the in coming air!
@787brx8 you are so full of crap your teeth have shit in them dude..
I tought advanced engine theory and dynamics at CSU..as an invited guest..Chevrolet Vortecs are called that because of the kidney shaped combustion chamber in the head.. thats where the benefit comes from on that motor design..
why do you think all intakes are beaded on the inside and not smooth. to disturb the air so that it will atomize with the fuel when it enters the runners and the chambers..
yeah thats why they dont make the vortec anymore... and why the LS1 rapes the vortec....because swirl ports are so much better....uh huh...ill put a bone stock LS1 vs a trick Vortec all day and make 100hp more and 4-7 mpg more stock vs stock... I have tried the gimmick gadgets just to prove to people they do not work.. I have a tornado sitting here i use as a conversation piece...want pics? I lost 2.3 mpg with it in a 3.8 windstar...
@sicaudiocolorado Yes! They still make Vortec engines and you are complete idiot for saying otherwise. I don't care what engine you prefer! You are comparing A truck engine, to an engine that used to be in A Corvette. They both are designed for specific applications! You don't go buy A brand new Corvette, rip out the engine and put it into A truck! As for the Windstar, it takes a while for some vehicles computer to adjust to new conditions, sometimes months! Factory preset fuel map=mpg loss
I was referring to the original vortec not the lm7 ,lmy etc... they are a totally dif setup...and 2001 and up newer body style GM trucks have an LS1 option... I have a 2002 1500 silverado sitting here that has a factory 5.7 LS1 in it...
the original post I made says it all noob.. they are direct port injection motors just like 90% of all the rest made.. so how can it possibly swirl the air and fuel...
@sicaudiocolorado Thank god there are sensible people out there. Thank you for not duping your customers with this scam. Consumer reports and AAA have done tests on these devices and report that they don't work as claimed. The vortex it "creates" gets disrupted the moment the air flow has to make any change in direction. Inside the throttle body the air is changing direction a lot, as the valves open. This would cancel the vortex immediately.
@787brx8 you are so full of crap your teeth have shit in them dude..

I think this device would work beter under the carberator or intake manifolds! thats were it could do the best good! Try and see, You dont have to take my word 4 it!
Tornado does decrease mileage from my experience, but a cold air intake/K&N will increase MPG, especially if suited with a free flowing exhaust and custom ECU tune. I have done this to MANY different makes/models and have NEVER seen a decrease in MPG, always much better MPG. Your engine is basically an air pump, the easier air flows in and out, the less you engine has to work, hence better mileage/performance. Where do you get your info? Kmart?
WOW! Great to hear you noticed mileage increase in your 98 Ford Ranger. And how did you hear about TORNADO and have you told your friend with high gas price?
@alagogo tornado does nothing, all of that was the kn. the average gain of a kn is an extra 10% because it helps the engine breathes more freely, all the tornado do is block flow and was even proven by popular mechanics not to work. people dont waste your money on this crap
I am an owner of a 2000 Volkswagen Beetle. After installing the Tornado, I get an average of 2-3 extra mile per gallon. In times when gas prices have risen so high, this definitely makes a difference.
I what to try this but my 07 Pathfinder has a long intake. The intake pipe comes from the air box on the driver-side and wraps around the front of the enigne to the throttle body on the passsager-side. Can the Tornado keeps a vortex going?
You would be better served with a Cold Air Intake(CAI) or a Short Ram Intake. They have been proven on the dyno to give benifits. Plus the CAI gives you a colder air charge, giving you more air for the cumbustion. Another thing to do is look at how the air ducting is routed and smooth out that flow. Look for intake kits in the aftermarket, or DIY websites with helpful info. On my Hyundai Elantra, JUST by removing the ducting before the air filter, I gained 2MPG.(it was for sound deadening)
This product should be banned. NO ONE has ever proven it works..

LOL. I made one myself.
Plus I am using a homemade fuel preheater. LOL.

MrOllyK 2 years ago
so for a minimal increase in throttle response you spend 70$ when a K&N air filter will do more for $50 and keep your engine cleaner.

im a retired master tech of 22 yrs and I know they dont work. they assist very little on carbed engines and none on FI engines. the fuel is directly injected into the cylinders by the injectors, swirling the air clear up in the air intake hose does nothing at all but help increase how fast the air comes in. the computer uses the map or mas sensor to determine how long the injector pulse width is.
sicaudiocolorado 2 years ago
@sicaudiocolorado I'm a retired car and engine designer and its called a Chevy Vortec for a reason! The product helps aid the fuel vaporization process by increasing how fast the air comes into the combustion chamber. There you go you said it yourself! Faster air speed equals better vaporization of the fuel so that it can burn better.
I use Spiralmax, they have a better design than the Tornado and you can use more than one for even more power. Position blades towards the in coming air!

@787brx8 you are so full of crap your teeth have shit in them dude..
I tought advanced engine theory and dynamics at CSU..as an invited guest..Chevrolet Vortecs are called that because of the kidney shaped combustion chamber in the head.. thats where the benefit comes from on that motor design..
why do you think all intakes are beaded on the inside and not smooth. to disturb the air so that it will atomize with the fuel when it enters the runners and the chambers..
get a life retard..

@sicaudiocolorado Type "Swirl Port head" into google and you will magically be taken to A place...
This what I was writing about, not your kidney's! R-TARD!
You have A pretty foul mouth for teaching... you dirty, dirty Mechanic. LOL!
Clean up your act, do some research, I fear for people you have taught at CSU!
You misspelled the word "taught".

@787brx8
yeah thats why they dont make the vortec anymore... and why the LS1 rapes the vortec....because swirl ports are so much better....uh huh...ill put a bone stock LS1 vs a trick Vortec all day and make 100hp more and 4-7 mpg more stock vs stock... I have tried the gimmick gadgets just to prove to people they do not work.. I have a tornado sitting here i use as a conversation piece...want pics? I lost 2.3 mpg with it in a 3.8 windstar...
sicaudiocolorado 11 months ago
@sicaudiocolorado Yes! They still make Vortec engines and you are complete idiot for saying otherwise. I don't care what engine you prefer! You are comparing A truck engine, to an engine that used to be in A Corvette. They both are designed for specific applications! You don't go buy A brand new Corvette, rip out the engine and put it into A truck! As for the Windstar, it takes a while for some vehicles computer to adjust to new conditions, sometimes months! Factory preset fuel map=mpg loss
787brx8 11 months ago
@787brx8
I was referring to the original vortec not the lm7 ,lmy etc... they are a totally dif setup...and 2001 and up newer body style GM trucks have an LS1 option... I have a 2002 1500 silverado sitting here that has a factory 5.7 LS1 in it...
the original post I made says it all noob.. they are direct port injection motors just like 90% of all the rest made.. so how can it possibly swirl the air and fuel...
your a gimmick wannabe and nothing more..
prove to all that it works or STFU

@sicaudiocolorado Why didn't you just return the Tornado and get your money back like I did? Or are you just full of crap.

I got them from thru my shop as samples...
they actually wanted me to sell this garbage as an UPGRADE to my customers...
sicaudiocolorado 10 months ago
@sicaudiocolorado Thank god there are sensible people out there. Thank you for not duping your customers with this scam. Consumer reports and AAA have done tests on these devices and report that they don't work as claimed. The vortex it "creates" gets disrupted the moment the air flow has to make any change in direction. Inside the throttle body the air is changing direction a lot, as the valves open. This would cancel the vortex immediately.

The Tornado deceases mileage and so do K&N filters.
CAI will also decrease the thermal efficiency and MPG but will slightly increase HP.
Injecting heat into the engine will increase thermal efficiency. Check out hot "vapor engine"
Balldez 3 years ago
Tornado does decrease mileage from my experience, but a cold air intake/K&N will increase MPG, especially if suited with a free flowing exhaust and custom ECU tune. I have done this to MANY different makes/models and have NEVER seen a decrease in MPG, always much better MPG. Your engine is basically an air pump, the easier air flows in and out, the less you engine has to work, hence better mileage/performance. Where do you get your info? Kmart?
civicguru 3 years ago
well i don't have a mechanics degree.but i can do simple math and yes with the k&n and tornado i've had a mileage improvment of 3 mpg
alagogo 3 years ago 4
i own a 1998 ford ranger4x4 the tornado combined with an k&n air filter improved my mileage from 18 mpg to 21 mpg
alagogo 3 years ago
WOW! Great to hear you noticed mileage increase in your 98 Ford Ranger. And how did you hear about TORNADO and have you told your friend with high gas price?
hm2334 3 years ago
its teh K&N filter getting you your increase, and maybe better throttle control
f1y7rap 3 years ago 7
@alagogo tornado does nothing, all of that was the kn. the average gain of a kn is an extra 10% because it helps the engine breathes more freely, all the tornado do is block flow and was even proven by popular mechanics not to work. people dont waste your money on this crap
paladain55 7 months ago 2
I am an owner of a 2000 Volkswagen Beetle. After installing the Tornado, I get an average of 2-3 extra mile per gallon. In times when gas prices have risen so high, this definitely makes a difference.
Thank you.
mosesdrum 3 years ago
Great to hear you gain avg 2-3 extra mileage in your VW Beetle with Tornado. Thanks for your sharing!
hm2334 3 years ago
they do work, it just depends on what kind of vehicle you drive. even if it saves you a cup each fill up its still working...
rage1515rage 3 years ago
I what to try this but my 07 Pathfinder has a long intake. The intake pipe comes from the air box on the driver-side and wraps around the front of the enigne to the throttle body on the passsager-side. Can the Tornado keeps a vortex going?
2006DURAMAX 3 years ago 4
You would be better served with a Cold Air Intake(CAI) or a Short Ram Intake. They have been proven on the dyno to give benifits. Plus the CAI gives you a colder air charge, giving you more air for the cumbustion. Another thing to do is look at how the air ducting is routed and smooth out that flow. Look for intake kits in the aftermarket, or DIY websites with helpful info. On my Hyundai Elantra, JUST by removing the ducting before the air filter, I gained 2MPG.(it was for sound deadening)
