well, this mountain is near my hometown and I have climbed it when I was a child. Thanks for bring me back some of my memories. It's said HuaShan has the most dangerous mountain path in China and I do believe so. Did you ever heard about the legends of Huashan when you were there?
It will take you about 11-12 hours to get to Huangshan City from Shanghai by sleeper train. It will then take you under 2 hours to get to the Huashan mountain area from the train station by bus for only 15yuan (about $2US)
We just visited Beijing China. Hope to go to Huangshan too
