yep that's mud and or snow in the barrel. I was thinking he was maybe a hand loader, and overdid it, at first, then I saw the barrel blow and split from the muzzle back, that's for sure snow or mud in the bbl.

Hard to tell the make, at first I thought it was a Sako 75 with a fluted barrel i.e. a Finnlight, but the bolt shroud looks like a Browning. Fluted barrel would explain the banana peel and a batch of 75 Finnlights had a few similar failures early on, soon resolved.

nothing wrong with the gun - the shooter made a major error... it was cold out and he was carrying the rifle slung muzzle up, when it was drizzling. this water froze and obstructed the bore a little bit. the barrel blew up when the chambered round was fired.
I usually take an unlubricated condom or finger cot and place it over the muzzle when it's wet out to avoid this very issue. Always check your bore - and always keep it free of debris, water and lubricants when in the field.

@BigJT2010 I am in Canada, and no, not Toronto, and yes things are expensive up here... $63,000 on a truck was pretty reasonable, and that was one model down from the ''Luxury'' model... We cannot shoot out of season, or without tags even on private land here, we have to go in the back 40 in the mountains here, and a quad is an absolute nasecity... You need to scout to have any luck, I don't shoot shitty bullets. If you know the right huderites up here, 60 lbs for a $20 is very reasonable, lol.

To all of you who think it is fake it is probably not if you look up what's called a " primer pop" it is when a shells primer only explodes and the powered does not which causes the bullet to move down the rifle only so far then when you load a second round and fire the two rounds hit and explode the barrel... When you actually take a firearms course this will teach you... Just to let you know

Always make sure your barrel is clear or that's what happens, AND most importantly carry your gun muzzle up. Mud = split barrel

@banata21 and this is how it would play out... wake up walk to the stand (1 mile away) shoot a deer and drag to where im going to clean it (500 yards from my stand) clean it, hang it in the freezer, wait a couple of days process it, and get 60lbs of meat (random number but plausible). so $0.45 for the shot, time and electricity (say $20 bill high end for one deer). try buying 60lbs of hamburger meat for $20.45. it wont happen.

@BigJT2010 I am in Canada, and no, not Toronto, and yes things are expensive up here... $63,000 on a truck was pretty reasonable, and that was one model down from the ''Luxury'' model... We cannot shoot out of season, or without tags even on private land here, we have to go in the back 40 in the mountains here, and a quad is an absolute nasecity... You need to scout to have any luck, I don't shoot shitty bullets. If you know the right huderites up here, 60 lbs for a $20 is very reasonable, lol.

To all of you who think it is fake it is probably not if you look up what's called a " primer pop" it is when a shells primer only explodes and the powered does not which causes the bullet to move down the rifle only so far then when you load a second round and fire the two rounds hit and explode the barrel... When you actually take a firearms course this will teach you... Just to let you know

Actually this might be acted out..but the rifle barrel breaking in half like this is whats called a "fail safe barrel" most rifles made past a certain date have them...1970 somthing maybe? this is why you keep dirt outta the gun.

Soon as you hear oh my gosh, you know its a fake video. If the barrel was blocked most of the smoke would exit the extraction port. Notice one of the two bent barrel parts is brown at 0:26 and silver at 0:28. Oh my gosh, oh my gosh FAKE.

@Gabrielgun9000 BS! what we saw is very possible and happens. the gas has to go somewhere so it splits the barrel to release the energy. Most likely from mud or dirt packed in the muzzle.
