Brenda Lee is the best. Hands down. There is no other singer like her. She can sing anything and I do mean anything. Country, Rock, Rockabilly, you name it. Her voice goes with everything. yes - that was in the days when singers had to be able to, well, sing! She copies the record so faithfully (I noticed a couple of tiny additional inflections) because that is the way audiences wanted to hear it, not the awful "variations" that singers do on their songs nowadays, completely ruining them and giving the paying public a poor shadow of the songs they have come to see performed.
