I still wonder to this day, if John Had not been Killed is there any truth that he would of been a Beatle again ? Does Anybody Know the truth to this Amazing Question ?
@spazzcat03 Shortly before John was killed, he'd given a deposition against the producers of the Broadway show "Beatlemania". In this deposition, he stated that there was a film about the Beatles in the works (at that time, titled "The Long And Winding Road"; and that it'd been discussed between all four ex-Beatles that they should film a reunion concert, for the end of the film. According to Yoko Ono, the concert would have been held in England.
the chords are same as "here there and everywhere"...so yeah john..it does sounds like a beatles song..i wonder why?...he should have admitted it..that he nicked paul's song...but you couldnt get john to say a nice word about paul..whereas paul never said hurtful things about john to the press..he could have said some of johns albums sucked balls like"sometime in new york city" and others....
@ChiroQuacker Oh please! These chords are in his song Sexy Sadie as well. The Beatles used the same chords over and over again, even in their solo stuff.

Remember there was a huge uproar about Gospel music / themes/ lyrics being converted to Secular music. My life was ruined by these people - i am a songwriter who you will never hear my songs - because of CRIMNAL INVOLVED IN THE INDUSTRY!
John used a rhythm machine at home, but Andy Newmark played drums on Double Fantasy. There are also takes of John in Bermuda where bongos are present. In that case, the bongos were played by his personal assistant Fred Seaman.
Neil, I should mention that I live in Tokyo and have some sad news--The John Lennon Museum (located in a suburb of Tokyo) will close at the end of the year due to financial difficulties. I wish Yoko had originally put this museum in Tokyo or London or Liverpool or NYC, where many fans can easily visit.
Thanks for your comments, Neil. I didn`t know John had spent any significant time in HK. He seems to have liked Asia and we both have Japanese wives. I only hope that MDC never sees the light of day again and, on the 30th anniversary next year, people remember who John was and what he still stands for
John spent extensive time in Hong Kong during his last five years. While I often rail about his depression and staying in his bedroom for days at a time, he also did a lot of traveling. He went to Johannesburg, Hong Kong, Jerusalem, Japan (several times), Bermuda, several places. When he would go to Japan, he would often stay for months at a time.
It's sad that John Lennon fans don't do anything to bring his real murderers to justice. John Lennon was murdered by the same people that killed JFK and RFK. And America lets those same people run our country. Lols. What shitty fans.
@surfin4@surfin4 Well, I am accomplishing quite a bit right now. I do have daily 'battle plans' which I do accomplish. I have met most of my objectives today, but I can't really discuss all that much as I have the police after me currently. But needless to say, I believe if you knew my battlefield tactics you would agree I am the 'Greatest Activist of All Time'. Every move is plotted.
@endthedrugwar I am in the 'location' I am in because I can do the most 'damage' in 'raising Awareness' and 'Compassion' in a non-violent fashion so as to cast a 'spell' that will be 'bullet proof' and 'come to fruition' even if I am 'taken out of the game'. I appreciate u cajoling me, as no one appreciates prodding more than me. Keep up the great work soldier. Besides posting these things on the '2nd' greatest musician activist of all time John Lennon's music is a great propaganda technique!
@known12 No, the 'dorks' are always the 'patsy'. Sirhan Sirhan, Oswald, etc. It's their 'modus of Operandi'. Chapman wasn't the 'shooter', he was the 'patsy'. It is pretty obvious.
@endthedrugwar he was eyewitnessed at the scene as being the shooter. he admitted it. you give the government too much credit. out government is absolutily amatuers.they wouldnt know how to begin to do a hit. iif our givernment was so intent on killing threats, casto would be dead....al sharpton would be dead...chavez would be dead. fact is our government is boy scouts.
@known12 Do your research. Jose Podermo, 'the door guy' was part of the 'cuba castro assissination' teams that were involved in the murder of JFK, RFK, and others. I believe Neil's assessment is astute. It was the CIA, but when they do assissinations they aren't acting on behalf of the CIA. They are 'moonlighting' for other companies. Hah ahahhah Yeah, anyway, do the research.
I was just being sarcastic. I don't believe that the CIA or any other government body killed John, but hear me out. You are correct in your comment on Jose Perdomo. It's a proven fact that he was, at one time, on the CIA payroll and MDC even mentioned talking with Jose about his role in the Bay of Pigs invasion while waiting for John to arrive home. As I said, I think it is just a coincidence, but your comment about Jose was accurate.
@NeilFraudstrong Well, your sarcasm was an astute analysis. Like I said. You're pretty gullible if you don't know that a 'patsy' is standard operation when the George H.W. Bush assassination teams, which have a pretty standard modus of Operandi murder people like JFK, RFK, or John Lennon. It's sad his fans don't care enough to figure out 'reality'. Shit, John sang about it. Give me some Truth. Get it? Money for dope?
@endthedrugwar Sorry to 'butt in' but its sad and there is no proof anybody but Mark David Chapman shot Lennon. I want him back as much or more than you. If it won't bring him back then why talk about it unless you have some truth 'JUST GIVE ME SOME TRUTH". (Weird how that worked out.)
@SUPERROCK There is proof. Neilfraudstrong confirmed Podermo was on the CIA payroll. Mark David's has ties to George Bush Associate Hinckley Sr., who was doing 'mind control' assassin training overseas where Chapman and the 'shooter' Hinckley of Reagan visited. Hinckley Sr.'s other son was meeting with Marvin Bush the eve. of Reagan's assassination, then canceled due to disclosure. Both shooters read 'The Cather in the Rye'. You have to be pretty naive not to smell something fishy.
@endthedrugwar I will do some research and see if what you said is true. I have an open mind. I have read "Catcher in the Rye'. I will even reread it. I don't see anything in that weird overrated book that relates to assassination to John Lennon.
@SUPERROCKDRUMMER There are at least two things that a loony would see as 'instructional'... repeated use of the word Phony (cf. I'm Moving On, Double Fantasy)... merry-go-round references in Watching The Wheels, with the nearest merry-go-round to Lennon's home being the very same Carousel described in Catcher... Neither you or I would go and shoot someone based on that, but some people are just waiting for a button to be pressed, you know?
It certainly is. In fact, when he was in Hong Kong people would come up to him all the time and go, "You know, you look just like John Lennon!" and he would say, "Oh yeah? I get that a lot. I wish I had his money!"
I Have figured out the intro for this song but Im Trying to work out the Verses for this song on guitar and Am stuck NEIL, Can you help???? It all seems to be derivites of D.
Thanks for sharing this from one Lennonophile to another. I just love this song. I would love to see video footage of this too one day. Excellent work, Mr. Lennon.
This track sounds better than the one on the album. This mix allows you to hear the guitar parts, bass and drums. Very beatleish, George sounding guitar. John's voice sounds better without the double tracking on the album.
McCartney wrote a song titled "Woman" back in '64. It's also very good especially considering his age at the time. Now, and forever is a long long time...
I wonder that myself. These are great. I have always wanted to see these sessions as John and Yoko filmed everything they did since they met. Quite a novel idea that some had mistaken as egotistical.
Film actually does exist from the Double Fantasy sessions. They filmed a music video and a lot of other miscellaneous things, but I don't think that it has been released publicly.
Yeah you can tell from Mrs. Ono's clip that still survives that the vid quality was obviously outstanding! She will have the whole thing under her bed or somewhere....Maybe the tape is used as a coster on her coffee table!? OR she taped over it with Paul Mccartneys divorce! ha ha
If that version were released today, minus the spoken word at the beginning, it would be a #1 hit. That is the way they are done nowadays. Man he was WAYY ahead of his time.
Well, the double tracking of the time sort of dated the recordings. It has fallen out of favor even with Mccartney. If there was double tracking on that version, it was very light. Stripped down is the style nowadays. Double tracking was used for one thing to cover minor imperfections that can be eliminated today to give a fresher sound. I like to hear them stripped down sometimes.
I always double track my vocal. It makes if fuller.Especially when you pan the vocals to the left speaker and right speakers. Nice effect. I also love double tracking my lead guitar. Great effect!
Double tracking was a great tool. I don't know if anyone else knew this, but the engineers who recorded The Beatles with George Martin (Geoff Emerick, Phil McDonald, etc) at Abbey Road studios invented automatic double tracking at the request of the band. It was widely hailed as a groundbreaking recording technique at the time.
@NeilFraudstrong YOU DO KNOW YOUR SHIT!!!! I think Thay called it "STEED" Or something like that. Although STEED might have been the different tape speeds or "Warble" they subjected the vocals to.
I think that it. and they called "Double Tracking" "ADT" for "Artificial double Tracking" Yes I think that's what they were:)
@NeilFraudstrong actually it was Ken Townsend (abbey road engineer) who single-handedly invented artificial double tracking (ADT) at around the beginning or just prior to the "Revolver" sessions
@valmorris Do you mean without all the studio overdubbing? No choral singers. I like the choral singers in the original, though. I just love the sound of it.
Interesting. I remember reading he didn't like "Girl". No wonder performances stopped. How would they do "double track" live? Other than lip-syncing?

NeilFraudstrong 1 year ago
@NeilFraudstrong Well, your sarcasm was an astute analysis. Like I said. You're pretty gullible if you don't know that a 'patsy' is standard operation when the George H.W. Bush assassination teams, which have a pretty standard modus of Operandi murder people like JFK, RFK, or John Lennon. It's sad his fans don't care enough to figure out 'reality'. Shit, John sang about it. Give me some Truth. Get it? Money for dope?
endthedrugwar 1 year ago
@endthedrugwar Sorry to 'butt in' but its sad and there is no proof anybody but Mark David Chapman shot Lennon. I want him back as much or more than you. If it won't bring him back then why talk about it unless you have some truth 'JUST GIVE ME SOME TRUTH". (Weird how that worked out.)
SUPERROCKDRUMMER 1 year ago
@SUPERROCK There is proof. Neilfraudstrong confirmed Podermo was on the CIA payroll. Mark David's has ties to George Bush Associate Hinckley Sr., who was doing 'mind control' assassin training overseas where Chapman and the 'shooter' Hinckley of Reagan visited. Hinckley Sr.'s other son was meeting with Marvin Bush the eve. of Reagan's assassination, then canceled due to disclosure. Both shooters read 'The Cather in the Rye'. You have to be pretty naive not to smell something fishy.
endthedrugwar 1 year ago
@endthedrugwar
Jose Perdomo was on the CIA's payroll in the 1960s for the Bay of Pigs operation.
NeilFraudstrong 1 year ago
@endthedrugwar I will do some research and see if what you said is true. I have an open mind. I have read "Catcher in the Rye'. I will even reread it. I don't see anything in that weird overrated book that relates to assassination to John Lennon.
SUPERROCKDRUMMER 1 year ago
@SUPERROCKDRUMMER There are at least two things that a loony would see as 'instructional'... repeated use of the word Phony (cf. I'm Moving On, Double Fantasy)... merry-go-round references in Watching The Wheels, with the nearest merry-go-round to Lennon's home being the very same Carousel described in Catcher... Neither you or I would go and shoot someone based on that, but some people are just waiting for a button to be pressed, you know?

Double-Tracking is the best!!!!!!!!!

Great take. Thanks for the upload.
I wonder, is that Hong Kong in the
background?
CurtisGayle 1 year ago
@CurtisGayle
It certainly is. In fact, when he was in Hong Kong people would come up to him all the time and go, "You know, you look just like John Lennon!" and he would say, "Oh yeah? I get that a lot. I wish I had his money!"

the double tracking sounds amazing!
WiltatKansas 2 years ago
Please excuse my ignorance, but what is "double tracking" ? thank you.
egypteful 2 years ago
@egypteful
It's a technic where the vocals are on two tracks at the same time but a micro second apart in timing so your get a rich, deep echoish sound.
Glidescube 2 years ago
its when you redord twice a voice or an instrument...
in this case its artificial...... just sounds like 2 parallel voices but are the same

Thanks for sharing this from one Lennonophile to another. I just love this song. I would love to see video footage of this too one day. Excellent work, Mr. Lennon.

I just love that key change at the last verse!!! I always love key changes.
I wrote some of my songs with key changes during the lead break. What a great sound it makes~
joeredente 2 years ago 2
This track sounds better than the one on the album. This mix allows you to hear the guitar parts, bass and drums. Very beatleish, George sounding guitar. John's voice sounds better without the double tracking on the album.

McCartney wrote a song titled "Woman" back in '64. It's also very good especially considering his age at the time. Now, and forever is a long long time...

Where the crap did you get this from? Almost don't exist....sessions/outtakes of DF etc.
laosandburma 3 years ago
I wonder that myself. These are great. I have always wanted to see these sessions as John and Yoko filmed everything they did since they met. Quite a novel idea that some had mistaken as egotistical.
Nepenthe070 3 years ago
Film actually does exist from the Double Fantasy sessions. They filmed a music video and a lot of other miscellaneous things, but I don't think that it has been released publicly.

Yeah you can tell from Mrs. Ono's clip that still survives that the vid quality was obviously outstanding! She will have the whole thing under her bed or somewhere....Maybe the tape is used as a coster on her coffee table!? OR she taped over it with Paul Mccartneys divorce! ha ha
laosandburma 3 years ago 2
If that version were released today, minus the spoken word at the beginning, it would be a #1 hit. That is the way they are done nowadays. Man he was WAYY ahead of his time.
valmorris 3 years ago 6
could you elaborate a little bit more of that thought? Thanks!
JohnLennon100 3 years ago
Well, the double tracking of the time sort of dated the recordings. It has fallen out of favor even with Mccartney. If there was double tracking on that version, it was very light. Stripped down is the style nowadays. Double tracking was used for one thing to cover minor imperfections that can be eliminated today to give a fresher sound. I like to hear them stripped down sometimes.
valmorris 3 years ago
I always double track my vocal. It makes if fuller.Especially when you pan the vocals to the left speaker and right speakers. Nice effect. I also love double tracking my lead guitar. Great effect!
joeredente 2 years ago
Double tracking was a great tool. I don't know if anyone else knew this, but the engineers who recorded The Beatles with George Martin (Geoff Emerick, Phil McDonald, etc) at Abbey Road studios invented automatic double tracking at the request of the band. It was widely hailed as a groundbreaking recording technique at the time.
NeilFraudstrong 2 years ago
@NeilFraudstrong YOU DO KNOW YOUR SHIT!!!! I think Thay called it "STEED" Or something like that. Although STEED might have been the different tape speeds or "Warble" they subjected the vocals to.
I think that it. and they called "Double Tracking" "ADT" for "Artificial double Tracking" Yes I think that's what they were:)
skyprop 2 years ago
@NeilFraudstrong actually it was Ken Townsend (abbey road engineer) who single-handedly invented artificial double tracking (ADT) at around the beginning or just prior to the "Revolver" sessions

Geoff Emerick, you must mean.

@valmorris Do you mean without all the studio overdubbing? No choral singers. I like the choral singers in the original, though. I just love the sound of it.
ShelterDogs 1 year ago
@valmorris 'that is the way they are done nowadays' nowadays music is completely fake all computerized, unless i miss understood your comment...?

I love the sonic envelope around Lennon´s vocal here. Sounds like a bit of delay, a lot of treble and an auto double track??
