Rams ramming each other

i have these baloons rams too. 2 of them. altho i bought them as angel rams? the guy picked out a male and a female but they look the same to me at home and they seem to fight a bit, would u guess he picked out 2 males or 2 females? he also told me they are very compatible with pairing. but they fight al the time?

I got 3 rams and they are the coolest fish. the big one is always ramming the little ones but not too bad.. they get along good with clown loaches.

Drop some kribs in with your Rams all fighting will end....the kribs act as principals...I had a problem before I introduced the kribs and a couple of angles....now its a semi-peaceful tank

My Rams dont fight...I have 3, I keep with Angle fish. The numbers for all semi & aggressive fish is either 1 male to 3 or more females----or IF NOT sexed...a community of like kind or a specimen tank of like kind. If the community is balanced two will pair up and breed.

haha mine do this out of boredom it seems. Only randomly. Like 99.9% of the time they'll just hang out together in a corner and swim as fast as they can at me when I walk up to the tank. My favorite fish by far. =]

I can tell these are neither! They are a new cross breed. The are called Baloon Blue Rams. They are bread with some type of balloon molly to give then the balloon shape! They are also much hardier then german blue rams! I have 3 of them and i can say that they dont lack the personality that my regular rams do and they have BEAUTIFUL colors!

You know what you can put with goldfish? GOLDFISH!!! If you like this fish then get rid of the stupid goldfish and put a heater in your tank. You'll be able to put some nicer fish in your tank.

No. Koi and goldfish are cold water fish. German Blue Rams require a water temperature of at least 82F.

Uh, you need something other than tap water. Tap is far too hard and too heavily treated. Rams will not survive it, and it's stupid to try treating it, as it's not going to be completely clean...

I bought 2 German Blue rams a few months after posting that, and they are getting along.

Usually, when I see fungus on a fish it is from fighting, but I have read that there are other ways for fish to get this. Is it a small, med or large tank?

I have 2 blue rams,mine don't really fight though.I also have a Bolivian ram though and hes an asshole lol use to fight with the kribensis all the time.

I would consider my tank as a small one. I am still keeping rams as I like their stance in the water. They are unlike other fishes which makes the tank look very busy. They look magnificent when they open up their fins! :)

I used a cut up 1ltr water bottle to separate the warring loggerheads. Don't worry, I don't keep it long in the container, but release it after a few hours. The reason for doing so is partly to let the weaker one gain more confidence.

Sad to day they've gone to the fish heaven quite some time ago. Somehow my rams are prone to some fungus and does not live long. But I cherish every moment when they are with me.
