Chuck Weis is so fun to listen to. I wish there was a vid for my favorite tune "Devil In The Blue Suede Shoes". Anyone know that one off of Extremely Cool? Anyone know what he's saying in the beginning of it. The words sound like "Ooh Docko, Dockee, Oooh Docka dockee!".??

@shepshepshep Actually, Waits met someone at a bar and was buying drinks and reserving for every 2 they had 1 for his friend who was meant to be on his way. After a while it became apparent that this guy's friend was dead and there were 10 drinks lined up for him. Waits wrote the song for this guy who had been in mourning for 30 years, but undoubtedly there are songs for Weiss.

@shepshepshep I used to love goin down to the viper room and dancing to "Chuck E Weiss and the God Damned Liars" I think the song I remember the most from those days was the very simple "God Damned Liar" which I don't seem to be able to find on here but then it was probably on good live since it was a humorous song.

I 've heard Tom Waits mention CHUCK E WEISS as one of his favorites & big influences in a many interviews in the 70s. Love it! This is the end song on Chuck's new CD, "23rd & Stout", which I just found out about today. It's only been released in Europe so far, so it's a bit expensive, but any Chuck CD is worth 100x most the crap regularly released.
