I played Catherine long before it was released in Europe. I think this game is a masterpiece among all the current puzzle games out there. And I wish I will see Catherine 2 or another same kind puzzle game in the future.

This was a warm welcome oddest game for years. I know it looks really weird and kinda funny, but belive me, The gameplay is really good.

@Sunbreaker7 dude wtf? You have completly missed the point of Catherine. It's not only about making choises which is not a bad thing to have in game. Rare games do those nowadays. Like Fable and bioshock

But Catherine is about climbing a tower blocks. That's the real idea of the game and main focus. But as you haven't played it and will not, you can not understand my point. I just tell you, there's nothing that should make this game erase itself as a useless game. It's not teaching game either

I love this game not for the gameplay or story (both of which are amazing) but for the soundtrack. It has some great masterpieces that really gets you on the edge of your seat. It flows so well with the game and I applaud the creators and developers or whoever pit this awesome game together.

@TheCrownAintSafe i totally agree with you here although i havent acually played this game it looks rather complex especially the puzzles, theres another game that deals with puzzles and mature themes simular to this i think its a knock out that game is Alice Madness returns. although the puzzles are more platform jumps it can get pretty epic and the overall message/ending to the game is cryptic and rather disturbing when read into.

2.Just because it's animation doesn't mean it's for children this is anime style game +in Japan most animes are 16+ but when America gets them they censor the shit out of them so kids can watch them cuz the americans think like you "Oh it's animated that must mean it's for kids" + it deals with mature dilemas ,not teach you about them

And I played God of wars, they have no puzzle side in the game that would make the brain to have actual hard thinking. I also played Catherine and it was one of the best puzzle games I have ever played. I think it deserves the points IGN gave it.

If your Gamestop is full of used copies of the game then not many people thought it was gonna be a puzzle game or just finished it and sold it like some do. My Gamestops have no copies of Catherine and if they do they are full price and highly recommended. Its much more than a puzzle its a work of art in puzzle form in my opinion. Oh well if you don't like it then its fine, its fun though lol

@TheStarFoxAnimations if you actually play the game and get involved with its unique storyline, then you'll understand. the traliers and previews doesn't make it look like a great game, but when you play it you'll see why it was rated high. if you're not with the majority who are only interested in mindless killing and fighting games you'll see. and the ones you listed are GREAT games. but are overrated due to the great success of their predecessors.

Actually, the story line is bad. Guy is cheating on his girlfriend and he doesn't want her to find out what he did. That's pretty much all it is half the game, the other half is actually a pretty interesting mystery of sorts, but it has probably the stupidest fucking explanation for what's happening I've ever heard.

Catherine is an incredible game. I'm sick of shooters everywhere. Catherine gives me some hope that there are intelligent developers out there too. Atlus has never made a game that disappointed me. Remember Demon's Souls? Lot's of awards there too. And the Persona series? These guys know how to make games and are definitely developers to watch out for. As for the CoD fans? Go ahead and continue buying the same exact game over and over year after year. I'll be enjoying rich intelligent stories.
