Who today! can perform with talented musicians and sound better than the recorded version! That's just unreal~ accept with Marvin Gaye~~A gift from God~~
I really like this bassist too. His name is Frank Blair. He played with Robert Palmer for a while. Listen to his lines on Marvin's "In Our Lifetime". My favorite bass line on that album is on "Life Is For Learning". Deep, heavy groove on that one.
WOW!!!! I thank God for his awsome timing!!! Every person was born in their right time because please believe if I had been around with this dude grooving like he do, ain't no telling where I would be. I was born in the 80's and grew up in the 90's. Big shout out to those who were around during Marvin's era! So happy I'm able to enjoy the music he left behind.
Such a brilliant entertainer. See where Michael and El got their training. Brilliant music man. Such a sweetheart. Loved the way he caressed the ladies while he danced. So sweet. So comfortable and gentle.
Absolutely correct! 4.22 to 5.10, then 5.22 to 6.05. Any idea who the bassman is? I can hear James Jameson in his licks. I loooove Marvin's grooves and I was thrilled to find this clip, but I must admit, it's the Bass lick that got to me rather than the smoootch! I want to nail that bass lick!
Marvin Gaye is my all time favorite artist. This is the best live version of After The Dance that was recorded in Montreux. And the horn section did a fantastic job.
This band did a wonderful job with this song. LOVE how they slow it down a bit with the drums in the beginning. One of his best songs (my fav song ever) and I love to see him perform it. And of course Marvin was wonderful as usual.
Truly Real Showmanship!Gone with the winds of time. Rest in Peace, Brother Marvin Gaye.

No one does it like Marvin. The epitomy of flawless, raw vocals...never the same twice. True soul sanging.
