Agreed. The second this becomes a one-sided perspective on how certain people are "owed" something that never belonged to them in the first place, at the disregard of the wishes of the rightful owners' property, an equal travesty occurs within our system. The owner gave the farmers an offer to buy... and then refused when the money was raised. A crappy situation, yes... but the owner's right none the less. Not to mention anything about the legal status of all the farmers demanding rights...
