I have a couple of ES-175s that I use for straight ahead jazz, but this guy certainly showed you can play whatever you want on them effectively. They also pull off Classical fairly well.

Oh and kudos for no effects! Just the abilities of the guitar and player. Awesome!

well i would use that for jazz (if i had the money, hehe), with some pretty heavy gauge strings, but man. all the people that say one specific type of guitar is destined to one genre only, are just plainly stupid. if i remmeber coorectly, some hollowbody was used f.e. by a guy from average white band. and Joe Pass used to play a solid-body early in his career. and Ted Greene, who could play like anything including jazz standards, used a telecaster. Ted Nugent used a 175 as well. and so on...

But since Gibsons are to expencive I've decided to go for a Greco ES-175 if I can make enough money that is (have about half of the money needed).
