  • Cheers bud, the song is:

Children (Future Breeze vs Junkfood Junkies Edit)

Its off Wild 16, disk 2

  • video is nice, music is stupid and too fast beat, it does not reflect the experience..

  • Excellent stuff nice vid.

  • Very nice Mr Ash. Beautifull camera work.

    Love the music.Great job!

  • Great movie Ash lots of descant fish there...

  • whats the song at the beggining -great vid

  • Don't know the name.... it's off the movie super troopers.

  • great vid whats the song at the end ?

  • Song is called slam by pendulum

  • its start at 6:40, slam is the first one

  • @ifishanyweather

very first song is: BUBBLES "BIDIBODI BIDIBU" - The Complete Mixes

  • Ripper vid Ash - great to watch, found my trigger finger squeezing away during the film LOL! What was up with the whaler - was that a bite wound on it or a ring of something around it?? Wierdest looking thing. Gee's those horizontal lines on the Dhuies looked predominant, was that just the video bringing them out?? Thanks for sharing, 5 stars!!

  • The whaler had a bait band around it. Commercial cray fishermen use blocks of bait that are held together by them. Obviously this one found it's way over the side and the curious whaler has stuck his nose in it... I've seen a grey nurse with one as well....

  • Ah, that makes more sense. Hard to see it clearly on my confuser! Cheers

  • No worries. The dhu's colouration vary a fair bit, depending on what sort of ground they are on, age ect...

Some are very dark and have prominant stripes where others are nearly completely silver, almost white...

  • I was wondering about that, normally I wouldn't bolt a Dhuie with the horizontals so dark as in my experience they are always just on or under in size - but the ones you got looked way oversize. I have seen the various face stripe fadings but never the horizontals like that - thought maybe it was a trick with the video making them look darker than they were. Did they look that dark under water?? I'll have to revisit my ruler when I travel north if that is the case LOL! Great video, keep em coming

  • Great video, good job mate ! Just curious how far offshore is turtle dove and approx how long does it take yous to get there ? Ever thought about making a WA Spearfishing DVD ?

  • Just so you know, none of the footage included in that film was taken at the dove. Baz's yellowfin was taken in Perth waters and the dhus and macks were taken along the coast just north of perth. The clip of the GPS is just to link footage together. Google Turtle Dove Shoal, you'll get the coordinates then punch them into google earth.

I plan to eventually get a DVD out but won't be doing it until I have a top notch production. There's too much crap around.....

  • Great video,

I will be down under in a few months, I will definately be taking my speargun(s).

  • I thought the part where the film showed the boat leaving the harbour in fast motion a bit amateurish (obviously that part was Wilso's idea).

Other than that, FANTATSIC, keep 'em coming!! :)

  • I was just playing around with basic features of the editing program I have. Same with the old black and white style when Barry's talking about his snapper. Thanks for the healthy criticism, makes for better movies in the future.... Although you can't keep everyone happy, especially with music selection.

  • Ash that was just awesome!!!!!!!

  • Cheers bud.

Dhu fish have strict size and bag limits that prevent recreational spearos from taking too many. The problem lies in the fact that when fish are caught on line in waters >20m deep, all fish die due to barotrauma. This means that for a line fisherman to catch an oversize dhu fish, he/she may kill 5 or more undersize fish in the process...

Spearfishing doesn't have this problem as we only spear what is over the size limit.

  • The problem lies in the fact that when fish are caught on line in waters >20m deep, all fish die due to barotrauma.?

All fish die? forever lies the fight of line and spear fishing...

  • Studies where line caught fish were placed in cages and dropped back to their capture depth, there was a 100% mortality rate.

  • intresting... amazing footage none the less well done!

  • shit hot Ash well done mate

  • awesome movie!

do dhuies cop a hammering from linos and spears?
