I have been buying consoles for 25 years. I still own them all and they all still work and i can't say i treated my games the way i do today as a kid. Nothing ever broke. My Wii has fallen down from 4 feet height 2 times on hard floor. The plastic broke, but it still works. The only piece of shit that i had to buy twice was an xbox360. Typical case of programmed product failure. How are they going to sell consoles in 2010 if everyone got one in 2005? By planning hardware failure. Sad Times.
@ahquejohnny I know right! I had 2 360s that broke. Then I bought a 360 slim because they claimed they fixed the red ring of death, and it freakin' happened again! I was so mod I sold all my 360 games and bought a PS3. The next day I took my 360 to the gun range and shot it multiple times. XD
If anyone else reading is considering buying a 360, don't. Go for a PS3. Wiis are good too, but they will be outdated soon.

@NewSuperLuigiBrosWii you're wrong, ps3 does suck compared to xbox, and I have both. ps3 lacks a lot of great games that xbox 360 does have. also xbox 360 games feel more valuable because of the whole gamerscore thing and achievements. the trophy system on the ps3 is shit and half of the games I have on ps3 do not have trophies. or maybe they have now but at the time I beat them they didn't.
@humanice2 xbox 360 has great games like... gears of war, halo uh.. forza.. (ps3 has grand turismo) and... yeah. I'm pretty sure all ps3 game has the trophies, and the gamescore achievements/trophies doesnt really matter imo. The only thing xbox 360 has which is better is the online gameplay.

I don't agree with this review. I thought RROD was a great game. It really put emphasis on any player's worst fear... I found myself clenching my teeth with anxiety. GROL, just like any sequel, simply couldn't live up to its outstanding successor.

@MidnightChampion The YLOD may have occurred on the PS3, but it's definitely not a big epidemic. I've never seen anyone suffer from it, and all of my friends have had their PS3s since the launch.

A tip to all of the people that got red rings. Mostly its because the screws at the bottom of your xbox (underneath your processor n stuff) that holds the X-clams are getting lose (they are vry bad quality). Try to wrench them tied and your xbox will work again (be carefull with the stuff inside your xbox). and sry for the bad english.
@micrill50 Yeah but the 360 (at least the old model) has a very high failure rate, more so than the PS3 and the Wii. A lot of people have went through 2, 3 or more Xboxes after hardware faults. You don't see this happening very often with the PS3 and the Wii.

PS3 had online problems before, but that's not a hardware fault. That's a network fault and it can be resolved very quickly.
Microsoft took forever to make a 360 that doesn't break.

@AllieRX87 mine ps3 had the ylod within the first month's and that even worse then the rrod cause those rings can tell you what the problem is and the ps3 only has a yellow light so my only guess is to heat up the CPU and GPU's solder than placing some termal compound and hope so you better can have the rrod than the ylod.
i don't get why people sais xbox sucks because of the rrod. i believe it's a cool way of saying that it's broke, instead of the classic blue screen with text on the pc for example. and most people sais that it brakes like every 2nd month... i've had an xbox for many years, but it never broke, nor has my friends' xboxes.

Got a new one for free (warranty was still good) and played the crap out of it, but it's suffering a disc read problem and needs to get fixed. Problem only started about a week ago.
i got RROD after about a half o year after purchase. A warranty shouldnt be needed in case of this because this is a hard ware malfunction, it has nothing to do with how long you play it, the system just cant handle its own specs. RROD = the wallet raper, Randomly Raping Our Dollars

Ok to fix it disasemble everything and the cooldown parts untill your just left with the surket board and then get a hot blow dryer and blow dry the board for 5 min on each side then reasemble everything for more infor mation comment me back and ill give u a totorial to do all of this
the reason why the XBOX had so many problems is because the EPA wouldn't let microsoft use Lead based solder, they had to use tin, and what tin would do was sort of grow little "hairs" that might branch out and touch another solder causing problems, and also when the xbox gets hot, the circutboard gets a tiny bit bigger, and when it cools it shrinks, all that growing and shrinking is bad for the console, thankfully the new xbox solves this problem by removing the red LEDs

@FMLNoUsernames They are well ventilated and cleaned of dust daily. The reason for my 360 breaking twice is that Microsoft used cheap parts and had a bad design, this has already been confirmed. I love the 360 that's why I keep buying one after they break but it sucks playing a game and wondering is this the time it will happen again. PS3 has better exclusives and has blu-ray and that's why I like the PS3 better. You being a fanboy is not going to change my mind.

@FMLNoUsernames I've always taken good care of my 360, I've fixed it several times but recently it just died. I always vacumed it and everything, hell I even had that thing on a frame built out of mecano so it had full cooling from all directions. It still only lasted two years. I used to defend the 360 in discussions like this, but nowdays I can only say that it sucks.

My PS3 had online problems before but that wasn't hardware fault. That was a network fault caused by HACKERS and took a couple of months to fix.
My 360 I got for $60 and the only game I bought for it was eventually released for PS3. I no longer own a 360.

i got RROD after about a half o year after purchase. A warranty shouldnt be needed in case of this because this is a hard ware malfunction, it has nothing to do with how long you play it, the system just cant handle its own specs. RROD = the wallet raper, Randomly Raping Our Dollars

Ok to fix it disasemble everything and the cooldown parts untill your just left with the surket board and then get a hot blow dryer and blow dry the board for 5 min on each side then reasemble everything for more infor mation comment me back and ill give u a totorial to do all of this

the reason why the XBOX had so many problems is because the EPA wouldn't let microsoft use Lead based solder, they had to use tin, and what tin would do was sort of grow little "hairs" that might branch out and touch another solder causing problems, and also when the xbox gets hot, the circutboard gets a tiny bit bigger, and when it cools it shrinks, all that growing and shrinking is bad for the console, thankfully the new xbox solves this problem by removing the red LEDs

@newf360 I have never had to buy another Xbox and have used the same one since release, I think people need to learn how to take better care of their consoles. Just because the PS3 is a more durable console does not make it a better console.

@FMLNoUsernames They are well ventilated and cleaned of dust daily. The reason for my 360 breaking twice is that Microsoft used cheap parts and had a bad design, this has already been confirmed. I love the 360 that's why I keep buying one after they break but it sucks playing a game and wondering is this the time it will happen again. PS3 has better exclusives and has blu-ray and that's why I like the PS3 better. You being a fanboy is not going to change my mind.

@FMLNoUsernames I've always taken good care of my 360, I've fixed it several times but recently it just died. I always vacumed it and everything, hell I even had that thing on a frame built out of mecano so it had full cooling from all directions. It still only lasted two years. I used to defend the 360 in discussions like this, but nowdays I can only say that it sucks.
