"New Play Control!" Metroid Prime (Wii) - Thardus battle w/ new bloom lighting

i can play the Gamecube version with a much more dramatic bloom lighting and in HD res on dolphin emulator!! GC FTW! DOLPHIN FTW!! i can even play wii games on dolphin!! I WILL NEVER GET A WII, but i will get wii games, and i just can't wait to get new computer, so i can play my games anywhere from 75%to 100% instead of 45% to 100%. i need to put some nice videos up, but its hard to record in HD cuz i can only have less than 5 min, and the filesize is HUGE!

@Twixgtx I have some Dolphin vids up. It's very CPU dependent and the closer to 4GHz you get, the better off you'll be. A lot of games aren't very playable, though the GCN versions of Prime 1 and 2 work fine as far as I know. You just need a fast CPU because they render at 60fps.

@FdupTV yeah, Metroid prime runs great on my pc(as far as i'm concerned) of course only when frameskipping is on(which should allow it to run 100% all the time on a 3ghz cpu since on mine it can run at 100% most of the time with certain REVS, the new ones are slower, and OGL plugin is slower than D3D9 on my computer, i have an ati card) and i can't upgrade my pc, its too much of a hassle, i got this huge ass "Portable Media Bay" slot in the way of everything! i can't even get a larger gfx card!!

The new ## out of ## missile indicator is a godsend , at least I can now see how many missiles I have altogether

it would be good if Nintendo since it cut the Trilogy at least release the New Play Control of Metroid Prime 1 and 2 I have metroid prime 3 and didnt get the trilogy since it dosent recognise the mp 3 save data and was waiting for the new play control of mp 1 and 2 now i wish i had just traded in my mp 3 for the trilogy

@ikeownage46 In the Wii version of this game you are given a little visor that allows you to switch between them. They're all still there, you just gotta select them with the Wiimote.

@TheStupidMovies I guess you didn't notice that he makes several good hits on him while he's rolling. He does in fact take damage if you do this. In fact, at least in the Gamecube version, if you can hit him with a Morph Ball Bomb while he's rolling, it will *instantly* reveal his next weak spot.

IMHO, this was the hardest boss in the game. It took me 5 or 6 tries to beat him the first time around.

Seriously, will that boss ever shut up besides when it comes to rolling around? I'd say this is the most noisy boss in all of the Prime series.

in the wii version, u choose ur weapon like u choose ur visor in mp3. it's hard to say, look at some wii walkthroughs of this game and u might see it, hope that helped!:D

DAMN IT! they made it so you can aim with the wiimote like in metroid prime 3. i bought the GC version of this game a couple days ago cuz i didnt wanna buy a remake for 30 dollars but it looks like the Wii version controls better

unfortunately no, unless you go and get a japanese wii console, and then get the japanese prime by its self, but i dont think you want to go through all that trouble

but prime 2 wii is better than prime 2 gcn because you can choose an easier mode ^^

I never had a GC and plan to get a Wii and finally play MP trilogy... but i'd consider the GC version if it's better

they removed the water waves and most of the effects from the beams by charging them

I hate the fact that they actually reduced the difficulty. Those countless times I spent dying on certain bosses (Boost/Spider Guardian) were a major part of the whole MP2 experience. Fortunately the Hyper Mode in MP2 Wii is equivalent to the Veteran Mode from the GC version.

Oh and I love exaggerated bloom lighting like it's done @ this boss. I also beat him today :D

This was the hardest boss in the whole Prime series for me

probably simply because I wasnt used to the "Metroid Prime"-style of fighting bosses when I first fought this guy.

Am I the only one being thrilled about the new Wii controls? That's the whole point, the rest is just minor details. Playing Prime 1&2 with wii controls is gonna be a blast! I can hardly wait for this to come out. Corruption took Metroid gaming to a new level and now this possibillity will come to 1&2 as well. I love it!

Look at the entire blizzard attack, it's easiest to notice around Thardus himself. Check the description for a link to the original version and notice how plain the blizzard attack looks.
