Damn! it sad to think that what we learn today in Renaissance classes will all be just re-envision of historical swords combat. I'm not saying that the techniques won't be close to the original, but still it'll be cooler if we can learn the exact methods used back then. In turn, it'll give Medieval sword-technique more credibility and people will appreciate it more.
I Think "How to Out Think Your Opponent" 1918, was a good look at some of the early revived spear/lance vs. unarmed (wrestling)./ Note: I'm still looking into if it's catch as catch can wrestling, or jujutsu, on what the unarmed defense is in that book.
