hey man, this is cool and all, but my buddies and i used to have sword fights with bamboo swords and dowel rod rapiers, its not as fun if there is no danger of getting hurt :)
Note his fingers on the inside have some silver of the blade on them. This is the same thing I had on one of my swords. After a good wipe down with a damp cloth that should go away and the blade will still look silver and you won't be leaving silver lines on stuff.
@sageeagle look up knighthawk armory, I have one like this but I beleave they are remaking the blade to a curved falchion style so you might have to act fast.
And it doesn't crack or anything? Damn... I bought some swords for me and my friends at dark knight armory, and I really got screwed... They're horrible... The first thing I did was go outside and test them with a friend... One stab and the tip of the sword started cracking horribly... The thing is, I spend so much already that I'm not sure if I want to risk any more on this hobby... It's terrible...
@allabtMando I'm late but anyway ahah : One day I tried to break one of my calimacil weapon ( Varan axe )... The result: It never broke. To break one of their weapons, you must really want it ahah. It isn't a heavy fight that will break one of their weapons. To break the tip you really have to rub it on some rock orc cut it with something. Otherwise, everything can break ( after a long time ).
@travelsonic One that looks like that yes, no doubt, but unless you have a degree in chemistry or just know your stuff reallyyy well, you won't be able to guess and use the special foam they use.
@Halofreakanoid Which sucks cause I wish I could make one custom and not pay over 200$ :( I got ideas for models, at most I'd try to make my own mold if I can buy the foam itself to use.
@YamiSeigy : Yeah, not sure how they'd like that. You could buy foam spear head, and if you find a way to make them liquid again without ruining the properties of the foam then it can be done. I don't buy their swords anymore, at least not for unarmored combat. They are safe standard for my group, but a lot of the other weapons they sell are really good.
how much

That is VERY impressive. I didn't really have a very high opinion of foam latex weapons, but...just WOW.

nice blade too bad my larp group does not go along with the guidelines. Too safe is boring... Searching NJ for another.

@soixe1997 the thing is with these you don't need to worry to hurt the other person.
I remember I always fought with swords or sticks, but had to held back because the pussies couldn't handle manpower :P

@allabtMando Be aware that DarkArmory do not retail LARP approval weapon.

@allabtMando You actually aren't supposed to thrust with latex weapons. That's probably why it broke.

@allabtMando Dude you never stab with a weapon...
tibiaroxxxx 3 months ago
@tibiaroxxxx What's the point of a stabbing tip then? I've always added a 3" stabbing tip when making boffers. It's a key part to any swordplay.
allabtMando 3 months ago
how do u make one like that?
thebigjuice101 1 year ago
@thebigjuice101 : You don't, you buy it from them. The foam they use was developed by them and is top secret.
Halofreakanoid 1 year ago
@Halofreakanoid You CAN make one like that, it just takes a lot of overhead [supplies, funding] and time.
