i have faster way using a large 50 lb weight and large trash bucket the weight is attached to a board i just load like 30 cans at one time lay the board acrooss the trash bucket and pound them 2- 3 times to flatten em all in 5 seconds ! MY cost to make this was ZERO all pieces found while recycling on streets ! Pole from vacumm cleaner weight is from a basketball net trash bin supplied by city for recycling !
Supposedly the tab is the only piece that is pure aluminum. The ink and liner contaminates the rest of the can, reducing the value of the whole. So a small amount of pure aluminum is (allegedly) worth more than a large quantity of contaminated aluminum, just like you have to pay more for peeled veined shrimp than you do for whole shrimp!

dude i just started collecting cans about a month ago and i realized that if u pull the tabs off of the cans they r worth more than the can itself
