i remember the 1971 san fernando earthquake ,i live in san fernando,and at that time jimmy page was in malibu on coast,so he felt how stong it was 7.1 and the lyrics to going to california "mtn & canyons start to tremble & shake" came from that moment of time,not known to many,but i love that fact.-kin ship to me.

In 1972 when I was just 10 years old, my brother and I taped Black Dog and Stairway off of the radio on a Tanberg reel to reel my Father brought back from Denmark on one of his U.S. Navy cruises. About a year later I got my hands on the album over at a cousin's house and listened to the entire thing. I was blown away.

In concert production it was truly amazing.Page Firing guitar licks that were never surpast.

The first time I saw Led Zep they were backup to Ithink it was Vanilla Fudge.Zep had us rocken hard the whole place was having a party.Then the Fudge came on and what a let down from the Zep a year after that Led Zepplin's first album .Rocked the charts and the rest is history.What a band..I love them and the memory.

There is no doubt in my mind that the band is awesome however without RP's vocal there is really nothing more here than a really good blues rock band. The tunes are exceptional too.
