If that's the case, then you CAN NOT sell their song for profit without their consent through legal contract. Why do you think some bands are sued because their songs sound "almost" the same as another band's song. For example, look at when Coldplay was sued by Joe Satriani. They didn't EXACTLY copy it, but they came very close without even knowing it.

@TheKaitMariee It is true. But most musicians (when they start out) who are signed to record labels, really don't make much money at all. Most of it goes to the label and people who worked on the CD. And unfortunately, it costs money to make the music you like to hear, otherwise you would never hear it. Coldplay spends a ridiculous amount of money recording their record for everybody to hear their music. So they need to make money back someway so they don't go into crazy debt.

They deserve to be reimbursed for spending so much time and money to make people really happy to enjoy their music. So, when you have Luke Conard (who I'm sure works hard himself) copying a song that's already been worked on so hard and making money off of it, it's not right and he should at least receive permission for doing so.
