It's kind of a buzzkill with the slow motion..however I'd like to point out that it gives you and idea of the power the car is/isnt getting to the ground..the rotation even into third gear!! its has to be hitting the sweet spot between hooking up and breaking loose or breaking parts..just imagine something that runns good with 80hp being lighter with 10 times the power..check out the video "big ass wheelie"right hand drive vert almost takes out blown mustang on a "loose"run
I get shaky thinking about any bug running in the single digits.I seen skinne's oval street bug run 8.36 in quarter at 162 ish.but Red Barons high sevens is insane too(my screen saver).after you break into the 9s it takes allot to get even another 10th of a second out of something thats dancing all over the track most cases.I have a 55 street bug running a 2.0 ABA turbo engine w B&G ms3x ,launch control,intercooled ect..and engine dyno 550 hp at flywheel..I'd be happy with low 10s...
Not sure what this Bug`s drag coefficient is, with that profiling in there, but my calculations says this Bug`s output power, not on the flywheel though, but as it is on track, must be around 335bhp?
ok fair enough,but at least norways beetle still looks like an everyday beetle,hasn't got all that ground effect crap hanging off it....u can still take norways beetle for a trip to the local supermarket,i doubt u could do the same in the red baron,don't get me wrong i love all aircooled vw's
Agreed, with that kind of hps, its like on or off. Terrible experience. Best is, drag is the real factor, bring the weight down also for good acceleration, then keep bug between 100 - 200 bhp. Max I`ll go on street will be 220bhp. Drag coefficient is the biggest problem with Beetle, so if can find a way to bring that down, lowering car, tyre sizes, less friction when running through gears etc, redesign bonnet area, you`ll get higher top speeds, or just good acceleration always!
Who wants to listen to an electric guitar over that monstrous engine you stupid retarded asshole.

@ beetle1835, unless the norwegians, whoever they are, have a 7 second 1/4 mile car, they dont have anything thatll eat Erics Red Baron....

@ phitsvang, try over 800 to the ground, erics bug runs 7.98 in 1/4 mile..

@beetle1835
this is a door slammer.
Any vw putting down over 300hp is not ideal on the streets at all.

@beetle1835 Did you know that the Norway bug is using a water cooled engine??? so much for looking like a beetle if u ask me
Weird600 1 year ago
go to the volksworld website look it up from there
beetle1835 1 year ago
@beetle1835 volksworld quotes "Norway’s fastest air-cooled VW – Stian Abell Larsen’s low 9-second", red barron recently run in the high 7's.

I am under the impression that this is the fastest bug that still has a vw pan in the world the last time I checked that includes Norway. LOL
