  • Hi, i bought my EEEPC 900 three years ago, and its still working. But now, I got a problem with my speaker. There are times that its sound is very low that you cant barely hear and sometimes, you cant hear anyything... my QUESTION is, IS IT POSSIBLE THAT A VIRUS AFFECTS THE AUDIO of my EEEPC? im satisfied with it and using it for 3 yrs now,,, its just that i got problem with the audio... anyone can help me? thanks in advance

  • thumbs up if you came to this video JUST to see her bend the PC all the way baack XD

  • if the robot wouldve danced i wouldve rated 5*S

  • why does it have 3 "e's" must have made a typo since its a pain in the ass to say

  • @Thegamer5150

its supposed to mean "easy to use, easy to learn, easy to play" or something along the lines of that. i don't really see how pronouncing the letter "e" with a little bit of length is difficult. you don't say it like "e-e-e-p-c" you say it like "ee-pc"

  • its so shit... you cant even download the latest version of java...0.0

  • she looks like she came out of my ass

  • hahaha that´s right!!!lol

  • yea and once apple comes out with there tablet pc...this will never be seen again lol

  • I cant wait until i get one =)

  • can someone please help me because nobody on the internet actually knows how to answer this properly

i need a CD driver for my Asus and i dont have the cd's for it.

can someone please tell me how to download it

  • Asus website

  • a clone...woman please! and i suppose that a mustang is a clone of the corvette if i follow your logic? personally, i think openoffice is much better than ms office. same (sometimes moE) feature than the microsoft product and it's free =)

  • Open office isn't a clone bitch!

She speaks about Linux as if it was something what shouldn't be on a pc. :S

Man, this woman is so ugly and stupid, she should never make an another review.

  • so true, so true

  • not to mention she pronounces ASUS wrong.

  • and she bounces that laptop up and dow as if it was a toy

-i really hate people which are reviewing things about which they have no idea and then spitting on everything their little minds are not used to as is opensource software (people still can't understand why would anyone give anything away for free)

-she says linux is easy(so NOT!)

  • Close your damn mouth.

Bouncing it around is not going to do anything. Its a netbook, they're designed to be bounced around a bit.

I hate people who post as if they know a thing or two about what they are talking about.

Linux IS easy, obviously you have never used an easy distro, not to mention the one that comes bundled with these is terribly easy to use. Its point and click for crying out loud.

  • bouncing can cause SMD elements to deattach from the PCB, and this netbook is certainly not desinged to be bounced around.

And i know what i am talking about, trust me i have been repairing laptops, tv's etc..

for a couple of years now.

Linux is not easy to operate(it's true that i never used a distro with a simplified GUI).

I have been using Arch linux for a couple of years now and i know that if you want to completely optimise linux to your needs it takes a lot of time and effort.

  • If you think bouncing a laptop around in your hand is going to do anything, well, i don't have anything to say to you.

    Arch, wow.

Have a look at the distro that comes with it. Linux is easy to operate, get it out of your mind that to use Linux you have to know each and every command. My grandmother could install and use any of the easy Distros, Eg. Ubuntu, openSUSE, Xubuntu, Mint.

  • bouncing a laptop could cause an HDD failure but since eee has an ssd it's fine but it could still cause problems with your motherboard(deattaching SMD's from PCB) if you do it a lot.

  • COULD cause a HDD failure, but very unlikely. They are designed to be portable, designed to be put into a bag and taken across the world, do you think having it in your bag and walking down the street will dismount components? That's practically the same thing.

  • @libed91

...really? you're actually defending yourself with excuses like components falling off of a pcb? bouncing it isn't going to do anything, especially since its all solid state. its not like its super glued to a jackhammer. obviously if you use arch you're not going to find linux to be easy, its not meant to be easy its meant to be fast and efficient. same with slackware and gentoo, both of which are also known to be difficult to set up

  • @schmidtbag

i have once destroyed a laptop because i bounced it a lot,

bouncing caused motherboard stretching and smd elements deatached from the motherboard and my laptop wasmade by IBM!

I am an electrical engineer and i know what am talkng about.

  • mine isnt working properly

  • is it wireless

  • oh come on man. Of course, it's wireless.

  • Hey, i got the Asus eee 900 with pre-installed Linux... and i want to install Windows XP, so i've followed a guide, but when i try to reboot or even boot it at all, i can't get to the bios, because it never shows up... it just boots up.. Why is this? i need help asap :D

  • get the 901 instead! 900 is a battery hog

  • Yes... but the 900 has a better processor, in games.

  • i just bought the eee pc 900 with xp in it, and it has 16g ssd. woo hoo!

  • Pretty neat, just a useful carry around laptop.

  • linux is too simple, I like xp better, you can just get an external drive or sd card

  • Ubuntu isnt

  • what's that?

  • Its a Linux distro

  • You missed reply button :)

  • I didn't. Sometimes they appear in totally the wrong order.

  • asus eee pc comes with linux stuck in easy desktop mode, you can acces advanced desktop with things such as pimpmyeee and when in advanced desktop you can acces the synaptic package manager wich makes it alot easyer to install programs and you can acces a lot of the eee pcs hidden features

  • Just bought one with 300 euros. Good for travelling and stuff :D

  • does it only come in linux? or is it also compatible with windows?

  • OMG

  • please watch the video before asking stupid questions

  • how much does it cost

  • 200-300 Euro

  • thats crap.. in holland a asus eee pc 900 with 20gb costs 350-400 euro.... if anyone is from holland and knows a store where there cheaper then i would like to know :)

  • Probeer bij tweakers bij de pricewatch te kijken. ze vergelijken dan de prijzen nd shit.

  • ok thnx ^^

  • of koop hem bij een buitenlandse webshop

  • asus eee pc VS acer aspire one...or upcoming dell E, help me out here. i'm thinking bout buying one

  • make one with a DVD player, or even a blu ray drive, for the best mini notebook ever!

  • She's really good.

  • I'm a real novice when it comes to computers so here goes... Could you load up regular software you would buy from a store??

If you could, how would you be able to install it? What about DVD movies?

  • Only if it came on usb. The EEEPC doesn't have any optical drives.

  • Thanks.

You were kind enough to answer my questions but I have a couple more.

No optical drives; so does that mean you're stuck with the pre-installed software???

Does it not have a port to attach an external drive?

  • 1. No! You can always download software from the internet or from your home network if you setup a drive share.

    2. Yes! It comes with a few USB ports that you can hook up a drive if you so wish.

  • Thanks for that.

I'm seriously thinking about getting an Asus. Need something small and light that I can literally carry in the same hand along with a book(s). I'm mainly going to be using it to learn how to program in java. Don't want to be lugging around a heavy laptop with the brick power supply and this seems Ideal.

    What do you think?

  • For programming? I don't see why it wouldn't work. Do you plan on getting a Linux flavor or Windows? Both should be good for JAVA.

  • Thats a good question!

Getting windows would cut down on the headaches that I imagine getting used to a new operating system would bring. But on-the- other-hand I think I'd be a fool to ignore linux for much longer as it becomes evermore popular. Besides, I'd also be the fool to miss out on the extra space as well. I can always install windows if I wanted, later, but that would be defeating the purpose. So, Linux it is then...

  • beginner's programming in linux is a bit more difficult than in windows, (at least for me.)

Compiling Code was a bit of a hassle for me, and I never figured it out in linux, whereas in Windows it was pretty easy.

That may just be me, but that's the way I've always seen it.

As for an optical drive, BlakeVII, I would suggest getting an external one. Another possibility could be (if you happen to have another desktop computer as well), to copy all the software from a CD onto a flash drive.

  • Thanks for the advice, Manan1016

Since a week ago I've really done some hard researching and watched alot of videos like the one above on youTube. I probably won't be getting the Asus but the Advent 4211 instead.

In the UK the Advent equals if not trumps the spec of the 901 and is almost the same price. The Asus 1000 is not available yet and I don't want to wait around for it. As far as linux is concerned I'm going to have feel comfortable using linux to compile code as I am with windows.

  • Ram flap `_`

  • I have a macbook but if i were to buy a laptop again i would buy this(the Linux one)

    I want it so bad!

  • actually the 900 gets worse battery life than the 701 due to the larger screen.

  • Fugly Pommy Whore

  • STOP SHAKING IT...FOR FU%¨SAKE !

  • I shake my macbook all the time ^_^

  • Does it bring good luck?

  • no, but a lot of fun

    watch?v=C6dcJ46PzA4

    watch?v=i-e58s_37MQ

  • omg 329 quid! u could get a dell inspiron 1525 with basic specs for that much! its not worth it

  • What's with all of you guys at Stuff Magazine shaking around computers like they have no moving parts. I bet you see a lot of bad sectors on your hard drives.

  • eeepc has no moving parts.

    No CD-Rom

    No Hard Drive.

    What are you talking about?

  • This is true but she's treating it like a basketball. Thank goodness there was not a hoop around.

  • Well i doubt she bought it.

They just give it to her and have her read off of a tele-prompter.

    She dosn't give a shhhht.

  • LIES... it has fans

  • also the keyboard is a moving part

  • Yes Eviler, I think the point was that with the Asus you won't have to worry about dumb people who shake valuable electronic equipment :)

  • Afraid not, eeepc 900 is using Solid State Drive. Any way modern laptop computer hav anti-shock feature to reduce the chance bad sector appear when shaking.

  • Some hard disks also have it built in or they autopark the heads when it hasn't had any activity. Samsung drive make an annoying click sound every time they do it.

  • you get 20gb with the linux one and 12gb with the xp model - look on ebuyer

  • What's the name of the song?

  • They are really cheap.

  • suck my balls bitch!

  • If only I could afford one...

  • Wasn't this already posted?

  • yh :S

  • Yeah... they changed the video because she said it was dvi out :P

  • All thanks to me then (I pointed it out)

Never expected them to bother re-uploading though

  • -.- Ok you obviously are a bit slow, but this is A LOT smaller and cheaper than a Mac book, that is the reason you buy an Asus eee, portability and price. This makes your comment completely useless.

  • ...Linux pwns windows and mac.

apple has expensive computers that are pretty with shit hardware.

Basically if you have the money and will give up functionality for looks, get a mac.

other wise there are better, cheaper computers out there.

Why pay more for something shittier?

  • true and thank you for explainong

  • I want one!

  • first everything
