  • Hi, can you please specify that was/is your glass cockpit software and how you linked it all together... thank you.

  • @mehdiAbderezai

Its project magenta. And it's linked thru fsuipc WideFs.

At the moment this setup is in the closet cause i now fly pmdg's 737 on just the 3 screens.

  • so whats the best program for say a laptop for gauges cheers

  • why dont you just click the PFD on a normal jet, the screen pops up then and you can drag and drop it into your lower screens, whats so special about project magenta?

  • @captainsmartass123 PM is a system, not only does it display the PFD/ND / EICAS but it also does the logics in combination with PM overheadpanel and CDU.

And second, the lower screens are connected to a second pc, wich has no FS running. I don't have 6 screens connected to one pc.

  • @Spyah hey thanks for clearing that up, and the fast reply. just one more question, how do people utilize two PCs for FSX use and why do they do it? what are the ups and downs of using two PCs?

  • @captainsmartass123 You can use multiple pc's by FSUIPC Widefs. Several software is compatible with that part of FSUIPC. Like my glasscockpit software , but also other glasscockpit software or navigationsoftware for instance. The reason to use multiple pc's is in most cases the possibility to use more display's that way. I can imagine in earlier day it was also benefitial because of sharing the load on the CPU , with software running on the background, but nowadays the cpu's would manage that.

  • Fantastic setup, just what I am looking for. I have 3 monitors at present and loking to buy teh VRInsight MCP Combo plus a second grahpics card for the panel. Using a second pc may be better. DO you have setup info please?

  • one question i really want to have also a home cockpit

could you tell me how mucht money this one cost?

    thx for the reply

  • Wow, how much did all of this cost you?

  • At the moment i m setting al up with the new LINDA software. The mcp combo should then be able to work with the mcp software from PM , also i m trying the prosim737 glass cockpit software.

today there was released a file fo rLINDA that makes the display of the VRI mcp sync with the MCP software from PM or Prosim ... This is great and long awaited for!

  • nice setup

  • Hi Spyah,

Do you use VrInsight Combo Panel during running project magenta software? My question: Is it fully compatible?

    thank you for answering!

  • @pacifica744 yes, i run the vrinsight combo in combination with project magenta software. it all works via FSUIPC. as you see in the video every button works indeed. and the dials. You do have to fly a compatible plane though. cannot fly a pmdg or something. i fly a Project Opensky 737.

  • Hey nice setup, what are youre FPS overall?

  • thats just epic

  • great!

  • Check out captainanton.co.uk nice pit! By the way!

  • Hi again Spyah,

Can you give a link to how to setup the second PC to display the glass cockpit...

    Thank you

  • @mehdiAbderezai get the project magenta software and read their manual , you can download at their site ... if you cannot afford this software there is a new player in town , its called Prosim737, these guys make free software and do a good job at it . check davemckee1´s movies to see it running.‏

  • wow, all this set up and you fly a default plane - such a shame) And yes in fs9 you can do this - active camera.

  • @komrad1983 offcource i know about active amera , but that does not work on the trick - ir if i m not mistaking , and i offcource ment from stock.

btw i fly default because the vrinsight does not support that many add-on planes, and i m totaly fine with flying a default cause i don't see any graphics anyway thats gonna drassticly drop my framerate.

  • @entsman50 when i get well (kinda sick right now) il write you about it , this i post from phone ,need to get to my pc

  • 5870 has 3 outputs indeed. 2 dvi and 1 displayport, actualy there are 4 there is also 1 hdmi

  • hey spyah can you run me through how to set up the glass panels so they connect to FSX on the other computer? thanks

  • Spyah sorry me again, are there 3 outputs on the back of the 5870, if 2 how have u set up fot the three monitors? thanks

  • Hi Spyah i have been looking around for ages for a self build home cockpit, just found your vid and its perfect....did the fmc come from project magenta? would i need to get a 5870 to run the 3 upper screens or could i get away with another card and maybe 2 triple 2 gos? i have one already as using 3 screens and the mcp

  • super nice!

  • isn't that black thing blocking your view?

  • Hi Spyah,

I just got an ATI 5870 Diamond. I can't get all the 6 displays to work, only 5. Is that why you got the matrox?

  • @mehdiAbderezai i use 2 pc's for this setup (as shown in the clip...). One has the 5870 in it and runs the three upper screens , the other pc has the matrox triple2go digital and runs the three lower screens . So i do not own the 5870 with the 6 connections.

  • Hi Spyah,

I just got the 5870 from Diamond, and I only seem to get to run up to five displays. The 6th display would only turn on if I disable another display. Is that a problem you had? I noticed you are using matrox, is it because of this problem? Please help. Thanks

  • @mehdiAbderezai Hey buddy, he's using two different pcs. the three monitors at the top are connected to the pc with ati 5870.

  • Is it possible to use MCP panel with other games like flaming cliffs of BlackShark? It has lots of buttons, can they be assigned in any other game, or just FSX?

  • @mininow You can program key presses , so in that manor it is possible to use it in other games , in FS though it works for some planes tru SDK, but just the default and a few addon planes. for my setup i use keypresses that work with fsuipc.

  • Wow! Nice setup and your flying naked!

  • @launchsa whehehe sorry to disapoint you , but no, was not flying naked .... was a hot day though ...

  • NICE!

Now I feel comfortable buying the eyefinity 6th edition for the same purpose. Thank you!

  • what an amazing setup! congratulations m8

one question tho: how can you show the lower 2D panel on a different computer? what software do you need to perform this? thanks in advance!

  • Very good setup on a budget!

Next step is to free yourself from the need to fiddle with keyboard.

Try voice control add-on for FSX & FS9 called "Multi Crew Experience" (for which a free demo is available for downlaod).

Simply give voice commands to the virtual co-pilot when you need to, and he will execute on your behalf. You can even talk to native ATC controllers.

Hope the baby is not keeping you too much off your hobby :-)) LOL

  • @bigsparrow1 Thanx for the tip. Indeed i need to get rid of the keyboard to increase the realism , i eventualy intent to do this by building a complete mip with a maybe even a overhead and center console , but that is probebly a long time from reality , till that time voice control is a good option indeed. My kids are both asleep round 19:30 :) so that gives me a couple of hours time to keep me busy with the hobby :D. .

  • i wish i can get i card to experiment with that before actually make the purchase, thank you for your reply Spyah.

  • Very nice set up how do you get the outside view to work , the virtual cockpit is nice but I would like to be able with my three screens to view the outside view!!!! I am running nvidia surround setup on three 24" lcds Cheers Mate !!!!!

  • @zaggotaz that works just as it works without 3 screens .... did nothing special to make that work. ...

The only thing to do when flying triple screen in fsx is edit the cfg file and set widescreen gaming to "1" . thats just to set the correct fov. other them that nothing special to edit.

  • @agoolshino i think it would be possible with the 6 screen version, but i'm not sure if you would be able to run flightsim full screen. Windowed it would be no problem.

  • I meant the ATI Radeon eyefinity 6, the one with 6 video outputs :)

  • i really needed this video, thank you indeed, in my case i am not going to be using project magenta for now, do you thing its possible to use the Radeon eyefinity 6, divide it between 3x monitors for the wind screen and 3x monitors for the panels without using the Matrox TH2go and still get a similar result?? thank you for your help already.

  • @Spyah Nice video man, very neat and innovative. *thumbs up*

  • very nice! i am very interested in the VRinsight MCP Combo, can i request a video review or maybe a heavy IFR flight with autoland, to demonstrate it at work :p. thanks very much

  • @plodgeface My holyday has started but when im back i could shoot such a vid, and show the pro's and cons. Glad you like it thnx.

  • @Spyah thankyou very much, i eagerly await your return :p. if you need any ideas/help with the review, let me know what kind of questions/features to cover :)

  • @plodgeface thanks for the favourite, wouldn't have found it without you! :D
