Alright. When you restore it with custom firmware ( ON ANY IPHONE ) its going to say error. But when you go and sync it or put it in dfu mode it'll say the firmware you custom put on there.

@lin350gg After you use spirit to Jailbreak, just use a custom firmware and follow the Shift or Alt restore method in iTunes and overwrite the spirit firmware and you should be golden.

@FlyBwoy83 Sorry it took me so long to get back at you, been busy working with some stuff. If the firmware doesn't go through with iTunes, that could only mean that you using the wrong firmware. Make sure you positively using the right firmware

hey i have a 3gs 3.1.2 previously jailbroken with blackra1n and it was running shitty slow so i did a master reset from setting it erased all the content and it rebooted and went directly into recovery mode now if i try to unlock with blackra1n or redsnow to jailbreak it doesnt work and just gets stuck during the jailbreaking process and again goes to recovery mode i have tried to restore with custom firmware using i tunes it gives me an error code 1604 please help i cant upgrade to the 3.1.3

DO NOT RESET the phone if you dont want to upgrade it, since you cant reinstall 3.1.2 anymore because apple blocked all firmwares except 3.1.3... So this video is not valid anymore.

This step is only for the 3.1.2 firmware, but if you're trying to restore to 3.1.2 from 3.1.3, your shsh would have to be saved on saurick's server and you need add the info from his blog to the host file on your PC for it to work.

depends whats ur firmware if its 3.13 than u can do nothing . if not ya u can do jailbreak but only before 41 weeks can perfectly jailbreak, otherwise u cant turn off ur iphone

What you need to do is, when you jailbreak with blackra1n, use a custom firmware to overwrite the blackra1n jailbreak and you should be good or use the new dev team redsnow jailbreak for the 3.1.2 jailbreak

had the same problem... i downloaded iReb 3.1.2 and i set de iphone into dfu mode and choose iphone 3g (but i have a 3gs) then a white screen pop up and ireb.exe crashed. then i started itunes and restored the cfw and it worked!i hope i could help you
