The Rembrandt murrini can be seen in "Rembrandt Painting Self-Portrait" , a murrini slice and a murrini marble at wwwspiderglassblowingcom
The torch in the video is a Delta Elite and the cane was pulled exactly how I needed it pulled. The center piece was used in the full Rembrandt portrait murrini cane and the large cane ends were cut, polished & sold.
would be cool to see a pic of the pulled finished cane,, looks like it time to step up from a Mirage to a Mag and get more pull from those gather ends...
Thanks for respecting the glassworking - the Sir scares me though and look out you all - I'm pre-mature gray from the life of glass & music,,,,, no stress there huh?
That will all change when I start marketing jars of "Spider Sweat"! Thanks for watching & commenting.
Get a degree in music and you might end up doing lots of things Chemwhopper! I'm feeling like you're beyond Bill & Ted - just do what you want to be good at every day forever - make yourself have to be dragged off for that day off!
Yes, GlasUnd Metall, marias will help keep your shape & design - especially if you're doing non-circular murrini.
Thanks everyone - you guys make Sonya and I feel more sane for sticking with the arts -
Ken this was fascinating. I have a question. On small cane/murrini would you still use marias? I pull my murrini between large mandrels but after watching this I'm wondering if marias wouldn't be better to decrease distortion.
The ideas I get from watching a master at work. :) I hope you do many more videos here, I truly enjoyed watching this.
YOU are truely talented, I saw some of your other works, in oil, and I am humbled yet again. I feel like I Bill and Ted, I'm not worthy...lol but seriously brilliant. Your welcome for the laugh, soon I will be able to melt with you and if I am 1/4 as good I will be happy
we're ready for more glass videos, please :) :) Demo some nice milli pulls!!
