@PhilExXxTreM Thats where you're wrong. It's exactly like Tool's style... if their style was mixing up songs and playing them backwards and faster. Listen closely and you can hear the first three riffs from Vicarious and the part that comes after the mandala solo in Right in Two. It's definitely some weird mix of Tool songs.

I went through Effigy myspace page and listened to a few songs of their album and although I know I will offend some Tool fans (I am one by the way) this new band could be considered to be Tools child and evolution, so I am saying that they are better than Tool but my love for Tool is far from lost, I will therefore consider their album to be the new Tool album and advise all Tool fans to listen to it, I hope that you understand this is only my opinion. You know...the main thing that most tool-like bands lack is the type of broad structure and epic build-up that tool has....tool always sounds EPIC near the end of their songs... This song definitely has that progressive metal sound...but its still not TOOL...The vocals are also trying....to mimic maynard... Lol I remember some random early tool interview where maynard joked about how he wanted songs to masturbate to and so he changed the "climax" points to just the right timing... Lol

This is by Effigy. It's called Holy Broken. A pretty good stunt for them seeing how it sounds tool-esque. But no, it's not TooL. Tool puts much more emphasis on Bass and Drums.

@Effigy If the rest of your material had such...symmetry then I'd like the rest as much as this one.

Have you ever thought about at ~3:17 mark having the bass continue the riff without the rest for a couple measures then adding the muted guitar riff a couple more measures before adding the drums back in ~3:33?

the truth shall b known on the new album whether this is authentic or not. as a lifelong fan i myself cannot decipher whether it is authentic(i understand i am no authority either) yes there are slight discrepancies, but aren,t these expected considering that it is leaked. and if it is another band i would love to know who it is as i cant get enough of this polyrythmic sequencing that only TOOL seems capable of channeling into this reality.
