Kevin, thanks for making this video about me. My youtube channel growingyourgreens has over 380 videos teaching people how to grow food! Hopefully your viewers can check it out!
hi we've got mini that's minutes to sprouts, tho dh has tomato plant inspiring him. organized rotation peat moss and baby greens roots. your last sentences got me to story response not from inquiry if growing radish leaves even, but to edibility surprise oh i've found much green vegetation's feasible... or quantified by land grab by air dried in colander other day was so soothing, while bulb was added to varied bowl soak to excite right or version of your recent video info to not just confront ~
I'm interested but don't where to start. I live in government housing, and I really like this kind idea, since most of the day my family get the food from the supermarket.
There's basically nothing in my local community that focuses on this kind of thing, most are average Joes that go to work. Living in Vancouver,BC,Canada, the east side of course with some crime rates.
Man I'm just 18 yrs old, know nothing about gardening. So any help for a beginner would be kindly appreciated. =)
Great video! I am in New York. I have grow herbs indoors. I am envious of this man's front yard. It looks so fresh. I think everyone should try to do this in some way shape or form.
I live in an apartment so I garden on my porch and I grow a variety of herbs, nasturtium, pansies, kale, mustard greens, raddichio, tomatoes, cucumber, and squash. I am always experimenting to see what I can grow. This year I rented a small patch of land, but so far the squirrels are winning!
I wish i had the money to do that!!! @_@ sure he got the cedar for cheap... but where did he get all that compost and rock dust from? it can't be that cheap! o_o not to mention the drip irrigation =X
I'm in Portland, can't wait to do a front yard garden! Grass sucks! I do have low-growing Irish moss in my back yard, much easier to maintain.
I got a house last fall with raised beds so we are growing some great stuff! Beets, pease, beans, corn, zucchini, lettuce, kale, leeks, potatoes, and more! :)
In my family's garden, we have tomatoes, zucchini, raspberries, basil, cilantro, dill, a few kinds of edible flowers, and many fruit trees including cherry, apple, peach, fig, and apricot.
I help my mom out with taking care of the garden, but once I move out and head towards a big city for grad school, I'll have to take the responsibility upon myself to grow a garden. I'm looking forward to it.
Awesome video ... Yes I have a garden. Growing strawberries, oregano, rosemary, yellow squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, green beans, purple hull peas, okra, potatoes, eggplant and peppers.
I grew up in the suburbs of Toronto believing food grew in the supermarket. Last year (27 years later), i began gardening in the city, and it was the most profound summer ive had. I grew almost 200 plants from (about 35 types of veggies and herbs). This year i've set up an online resource for growing food, and i'm getting local projects set up.
Wow this is phenominal-talk about growing your own food this guy is growing all his food it looks like. That is amazing and he got clearance boards. Great job!

Find a local mushroom grower. They have spent mushroom compost, usually for free.

As for the veggies: zucchini is incredibly giving, and perennial herbs are ideal for the long run.
The "three sisters" companion planting combo is great:
- corn (creates a stalk for beans to climb)
- beans (climbs corn, and adds nitrogen
to the soil which corn utilizes)
- squash (provides ground cover to shade out weeds)
this method triples your yield from the space and keeps the soil healthy when it would otherwise drain.

As an avid gardener, I was drooling over this garden! My whole garden is only 25 feet square, so I am soo jealous!
