@ArduinoAlan It is a standard filter found in some PC power supply's. I dont think it will be sufficient for a spark gap teslacoil. Better use a separate ground for the secondary.

im new to tesla coils does the primary have to touch the secondary or does it just have to be near it. and if it has to touch it, is it connected to the transformer and the capacitors and stuff? i know what parts i need, i just dont know what needs to be connected to what.
just near it i thought that too, if you hook them together its a dead short, no sparks bye bye transformer unless its current limited, then it just wont work
