so what yoiu are saying is spoilerons help to keep the wing from stalling and flaps would stall it quicker? Im no expert but dont spoilers kill lift therefore making the wing more likley to stall ? if not why do all airliners use flaps on landing and spoilers/airbrakes when on the ground?

@coultam Flaps increase lift without the need to increase angle of attack. This is necessary for real-sized heavy airplanes - high alpha really isn't a very practical way to do landings and slow flight with real airplanes, not even with fighters, whereas for foam planes it is a viable option due to thrust to weight ratio and structural strength being proportionally greater than for real sized airplanes.

Foamies have lot of lift, they can sacrifice some with spoilerons to gain more stability.

Why don't you and others fly your RC aircraft out at an approved RC field or at least an open field away from residential area? Or doesn't sane, safe RC flying pertain to you? It's because of folks like you, FPV people and other careless fliers that we are looking at the FAA's NPRM that will affect our hobby! Dave, flaps are not that bad. For a jet with the end of the wing so close to the tail, yes, you would want spoilerons. For a 3D model like a yak you would want flaperons.
