The flame gulper would be a non starter for your theme, not only is it very fuel inefficient, the power output is negligible for the fossil fuel input.

I think you have most probably gone down the route of Dr Stirling, it is now proving to be a very promising solution, along with free flowing water and turbines. Imagine Niagara as a power source rather than a brain dead tourist attraction, running thousands of little hidden turbines. Every little helps.

I should point out that my solution is focused only on the financing of massive scale clean energy. The development of the technologies used would be left to the market. The clean energy farm would simply buy a selection of the most cost effective clean energy solutions currently available each year. The farm would provide consistent demand for the current most cost effective proven technologies...
