@George: When I learned this piece I played it virtually identically to the way that Ross did-it’s not a tough piece. I played all the notes right where they belonged. The problem was that I didn’t make it a living, breathing organism. I didn’t use one phrase to set up the next in tempo or touch like Valenti did. I saw nothing beyond what was written. Valenti did. My playing was child-like compared to his. Was I wrong? No, my playing just wasn't brilliant. Valenti’s was brilliant.
While Ross' technique is excellent, he doesn't show the passion and understanding that Valenti does. Just listen to Valenti's phrasing...it's brilliant.
@werderwayne Indeed, nice version with Valenti. I don't think that Ross doesn't show passion or understanding. He is just playing it in a homogeneous manner, while Valenti try to disrupt the musical passages. I like both versions.
Maravillosa ejecución y maravillosa también la iniciativa de promover la música del Padre Antonio Soler, una gran compositor lamentablemente muy poco reconocido. ¡Gracias!
This post and the other Soler postings are brilliant performances of the works of a vastly under-appreciated composer. Scott Ross's playing is just wonderful.
mmmm... pretentious 18th century spanish harpsichord music.

no creo yo que sean tan importantes lo del 435,
en realidad no hay 2 insturmentos iguales y menos en claves.
es cosa de la calidad instrumento-grabacion

Me encanta. Su afinación en La 435 le da un sabor único de la que desgraciadamente la 440 carece. Enhorabuena
