Is this seriously metal? Suddenly, I feel really stupid. Back in highschool there were these self proclaimed metalheads, and most of what they listened to was stuff like Behemoth and Cradle of Filth, so I kind of wrote off and avoided the whole genre because I thought that's what it all was. But wow, Avantasia at least is pretty fucking amazing. I've been furiously clicking everything from them and I've yet to find a song I don't like.

@Elusareth Yeah this is metal. Its generally symphonic metal . Behemoth and Cradle of Filth aren't very good and they are generally thrash and death metal which is on the opposite side of the genre. I don't know what you usually listen to or what you've found but if you want I can recommend some similar songs and bands ( that are like Avantasia and this beautiful song) to you.
