  • i do love a good yuke cover.. great job,

  • oh yes a perfect rendition

  • right on, bruh!

    ahmana go play this

on my banjo uke right now.

  • sounds great jack

  • great playin and nice voice! i've recently wanted to take up the banjo, uke, and accordian. this is a cool song i wanna learn now!

  • Very nice, the guy reminds me of Martin Mull.

  • I really like this song. Good uke playing and vocal too!

  • heylover3, the tuning is g.C.E.A, it's a tenor ukulele, but the tuning also works with the concert or the soprano ukuleles i think.

  • Thanks a lot! I love this Song.

  • Nice! Could you tell me the chords you play?

  • I tabbed it out the intro and the first verse in the video description. That should get you started. If you have any further questions, just let me know.

  • interesting...

  • Guitmartiman... This is amazing. I wish George went onto the ukelele more often, althought Paul has done that in "Something" in George's memory.

  • This is great man! I love it!

Only thing that would make it better... would be if you'd send me a list of the chords and the tuning you use ;)

    Thanks!

  • Nice. Keep jammin'

  • i was inspired to play uke by George Harrison himself.. luv your version. i have a baritone uke, and hope to get to know this song's strum pattern better so i can play it myself :)

    thumbs up!!

  • a bit more passion ... But nice !

  • Okay I know I must be getting annoying, but I LOVE this song and your version is just AWESOME. I love just coming to this page and leaning back and listening to your version of the song. It relaxes me. Thanks again Mr. Marti for the joy you bring me when I listen to this song.

  • No problem, Jeff. Sooner or later you'll get bored with it though. I remember when I was your age I'd run my favorite recordings into the ground too! At one point I think I had The Beates' Sgt. Pepper's album memorized verbatim!

  • Hahaha. Well its gonna take a LONG time before I get tired of this recording. Music has to be GREAT for me to run it into the ground. So that says something about your recording. Just do me a favor and don't stop making videos no matter what the "Haters" say. :)

  • I actually have had too many "haters," believe it or not. It's not likely I'll stop making videos any time soon, unless You Tube suspends my account or something. Then I'll just upload to some other site.

  • Well if that does happen, you need tell me what site you upload them too. haha

  • Oops! What I meant to say is I have NOT had too many "haters." By far, most people who have commented on my videos have been very kind. There have only been a very few, probably no more than a half dozen ugly comments that I've had to delete. Now spam is a different story, I've delted dozens of comments that have had nothing to do with the video they were supposedly commenting on!

  • I hate spam comments. I couldn't imagine you getting any "hater" comments.

  • If for some reason my YT account is suspended, in all likelihood I'll probably just open another one, but If I have to move to another site, it'll probably be LiveVideo where I already have an account, but am not really doing anything with at the moment.

  • I hear ya. It seems many people take the videos more seriously than the people posting them. Nice stuff dude.

  • I still love your version of this and I play it on my Ukulele ALL the time. Thank you Mr. Marti.

  • You're most welcome, Jeff! That's most gratifying to know! Blessings on you!

  • ROFLOL! Thanks for a good belly laugh!

  • great job, 5 stars!

  • Cool man! keep strumming

  • :-) liked it man!

    gr8 job!

    Taizy...

  • Wow! Great stuff! I have never heard that tune before. I don't know what the original sounds like but yours is incredible. And what fantastic words!! I think music has an amazing ability to not only communicate but educate and heal and...well...inspire people to do what they do...which is just about anything!! Very inspirational! THANKS!!

  • Nice introduction! That was very cool! Also, appropriately played on a ukulele, seeing as how George loved the ukulele so much. Thanks!

  • Awesome bruddah Jack! Jake is of course very popular in Hawaii.

  • Yeah, boy, I sure wish he'd share his arrangement for While My Guitar Gently Weeps. He's asked everyone who's put it up on the internet to take it down -- unfrotunately before I was able to download it!

  • This is absolutely beautiful.

  • Is that a baritone or tenor ukulele?

  • It's a tenor. I sent you the chords. I tried to place them ove the words where the changes occur, but YouTube's message system squished them together. You should be able to figure it out though. It's pretty simple.

  • Very cool I loved it

    Rocket

  • u remind of of george harrison himself with both ur voice and playing a ukelele. great job

  • That is one of the highest compliments that anyone has ever paid me. I am flattered beyond measure. Now I need to hear from someone who is less than impressed with my performance, or I'm going to have a hard time getting through doorways with my over-inflated ego!

  • Thanks. I appreciate that very much coming from you.

  • Oh Wow - This is one of my Quiet George favorites as well ! Nice one ! Bien joué

  • My computer freaked out on me... But don't forget to strum around the 12th fret... It makes for better tone. : )

  • Thanks for the tip! I'll try it next time and see how it works.

  • Really nice work with a really nice song and a nice looking uke===a tenor?

  • Yes, it's a tenor. I also have a soprano, but it's really too small for my hands to play well. Thanks for the positive feedback!

  • Excellent. I enjoyed this.

  • I'm so glad u did. Thanks for stopping by!

  • Jack, Good song. Everything has a beginning. You have steped out in faith and you done it. This is what really every christian face in their lives. For our hearts are renewed when we accept the Lord Jesus in our hearts and then we have have to step in new territory and change things around.

  • Wow, I always appreciate your feedback. Thanks for the encouragement!

  • AWW

    that's a great song

    and you played it beautifully

    It definatly worked

  • I'm so glad it worked for u too! Get closer to that microphone, will u?

  • lol sure will!

  • Cool Video,Cool Song.

  • Very nice ukelele work covering one of my favorite songs from my favorite Beatle!

  • It's always a risk playing a song by The Beatles or even a former Beatle, because u never know whether u might annoy a fan who thinks u've ruined the song. I'm glad u approve, especially since George was your favorite Beatle! Of the four, I think George is the one I would really have liked to spend some time with, though I think Paul would be fun to meet also.

  • Like the words. The uke sounds cool with that song.

  • Ukulele is a wonderfully flexible instrument as I recently re-learned, and you work it artfully. Thanks!

  • U're welcome! And thank u 4 your encouragement!

  • That is so cool Jack. What are you going to do next?

  • You'll have 2 wait & c.

  • LIKE IT??? I LOVE IT!!!! "Isn't It A Pity" is one of my favorite songs on the "All Things Must Pass" album! I love that entire record, "Jam" disc and all! Me and my bud did a cover of "If Not For You" and did it in the style of Georges' version instead of Dylans. Great job on this one!

  • Thanks Matt! I had all of George's albumns back in the day, even Wonderwall and Electric Sounds! I used to listen to Wonderwall for hours on end. George truly was the dark horse.

  • Wow! "Electronic Sounds" huh? That one's pretty rare. I won a contest on the radio back in late '95 right after the "Anthology" series was aired on T.V.; the question was "what was the first album released by Apple Records?" Alot of people called in saying "The White Album" but I consulted my Beatle books and found it was "Wonderwall." I was the last call they were going to take and I won! It was great.

  • Very nice! A ukelele version is good to hear, since George Harrison played a lot of ukelele. This is also one of my favourite of his songs, and this is an excellent version. :)

"And because of all their tears, their eyes can't hope to see the beauty that surrounds them, isn't it a pity?" ...One of my favourite lines ever.

  • That's my favorite line too. Glad u liked it!

  • Great job Jack. Each video you do gets better. I wish you lived closer by. We do a bluegrass jam every Friday night in Hogansville GA.

  • That would be fun. I used to go to an Old Time Country jam in Graysville, GA, not too far from here. They did some bluegrass too, but I haven't been there in about a year.

  • You claim to be "only pretty good" at the guitar, yet it also takes a special talent to sing along with any instrument. Well done! Maybe you should visit Venice and buy a gondola! lol Take care and thanks also for enclosing the lyrics!

  • Pretty good is not bad, but I have to be honest. There are guitar players who've been playing for a year or two that play far better than I. Part of it is that though I love playing the guitar, I don't have the discipline to become a great guitarist. But I appreciate the gondola idea! That might be fun!

  • that was great, i liked it : )

  • Beautiful song

  • I've always thought so. Thanks for listening.

  • Nice treat to see someone play well on an ukulele! Thanks for sharing!

  • Well, the ukulele is a little tricky for a guitar player in that it has 2 less strings and one of the strings that on a guitar would normally be a bass string is another treble string, but if u say I played well, praise the Lord! Thank u 4 your encouragement!

  • My father was an awesome Guitar player and played with a group friends in a local band.

I don't think he ever played a Ukulele though :-D

  • I never did either before about a month or so ago. I've been playing guitar for over 40 years, but I'm only pretty good at that. Thanks for your comment!
