@icewatercube MMMM...NO to BMW or Mercedes. I liked KITT just the way "he" was. KITT was sporty and aerodynamic...the two you mentioned don't fit in the same mode.
If the truth be known, Glen Larson (Knight Rider producer) was going to use a Nissan 290Z. However he lived next door to someone who worked for GM, and was shown pics of the upcoming '82 Trans-Am. When he saw how much better the Trans-Am looked compared to the Z, the Trans-Am was chosen.
@LcplHabon I liked this movie as a kid, I still have a sentiment for it but since I'm a rally driver I see they never used full performance of Trans Am in the series, exept jumps of course which were making it fall apart but I mean even in this parts when TA was sliding or driving fast I see they could have go much faster or more spectacular... But I guess they've been trying to save money and keep out of danger.
