@LangeE612 The top and bottom left let you jump to the top and bottom of the album list, and the top and bottom right skip past about 8 albums on the list. Other than that, they have no real use. Creative was supposed to develop some apps to use the extra buttons but they never really did.

I'm a Creative lover since I bought the Zen Vision M, and I own the Zen X-Fi as well. To be honest I've wanted to try something else once in a while but always go back to Ceative players cause they just sound so good for the price. I admit that apart from music quality there are many players out there with better other features, but I still get the Creative in the end cause of the sound quality.

If you just want a music player with excellent sound quality, good storage, good value for money go for the Zen.

If you want a gadget go for the iPod.

I've personally had both, and I've returned my iPod, it was too fiddly for me, the sound was inferior, it was a good but with the Zen I can easily change song, or go to the 'Most Popular' tab without even taking it out of my pocket.

I don't care if I can browse the internet, or watch the album art in colour, If you get a 2 color screen, and a play, forward, back, pause and volume controller, you should have enough. All you should care about IS THE SOUND of it, because its an AUDIO player. And all those new little apps and things on MP3 players, just pull down the battery life by about 7 hours, so.....

She got a ipod touch for some reason (I dont like apple tht much) then an iphone and she gave the touch to me i just jailbroke it and its really not tht bad but i use my Zen for music cuse it better :)

I bought a Creative Zen X-Fi back in May. Absolutely no regrets. For me, Creative wins hands down. It's intuitive, and the sound is fantastic. Has radio and microphone function, alarm clock and organiser feature. I got a docking speaker unit for Christmas, and it's great - charges via my laptop, and no annoying wires! :o) can't sing its praises enough!

the earphones you get with this are the best ever i mean it's like nothing you ever heard and it rases up the level and those by it selves costs like 50$ or more.

the ipod 5g doesn't have a memory expansion or built in speaker however it does have a camera which can come handy but i think it would mainly render useless b/c if Im gonna film something I want to use a top video cam not a shitty 3 mega pixel camera. I like the zen X-fi mainly b/c of the speaker and the earphones that it comes with are really top quality, and the sound is superb, with the new firmware x-fi actually makes it sound slightly better too. cant beat the price

....I've just bought this player and i like it but It's took me around 3 days to learn how to upload DVD rips to the player without the sound being out of sync. i rip the DVD using DVD shrink , then i convert the rip to MPEG2 using ROXIO 10 , then i use Creatives Video Converter to convert and transfer my DVD rip to my player. It takes about about 20 minutes on my system.

Yes, it supports Xvid and DivX video codecs (with mp3/aac audio), but you can't just throw a usual video on.. It's quite picky.. For a day it was rejecting anything I encoded for it, until I noticed using a hex-editor the difference between a working and not-working video was the case of the codec info (if using ffmpeg, make sure you use -vtag XVID (in caps)). Also, will refuse to play if above the resolution of the player (320x240) or if the bitrate is too high: can't remember what, but reasona

Yes absolutly. Uhm F.e. The ipod has only a few options.. This one has so many options, you can edit even your background alarmclock ect. I have this one and because of the in build speaker it is absolutely amasing!!! Worth it

Fairly easy. With the Zen a Cd is included with a program so you can manage your files. But you also can just open the zen (like it is a map) And drag or copy your files into it. It immediatly put the song underneath the input of Artist and Album ect.

I have a friend that told me that to use the X-fi you need a software that comes the mp3 player. In other words he ment that I can't plug it to a different computer than mine and drag over files unless the computer has the software. Is that true? I wan't this because I don't like I-tunes and so on. I had an old mp3 player and all i had to do to get files on it was to plug it in the pc and drag files over. Is it the same with the X-fi? :)

The X-Fi supports drag and drop :) You dont have to install software to putt in music and video clips. It is just plug it in any computer.
