  • The cakes are made in the stores, I assure you. Austin has blue laws about selling ice cream cakes actually made within city limits.

  • The genius of Carvel is applying the apotheosis of Fordist-Taylorist economies of scale to cake making, something hitherto quite erroneously believed to be more in the domain of handicrafts (sidled with the inherent limits of labor intensiveness). In short, it was neato how they used a light bulb for cookie puss and a whale for Santa.
