what the TBI spacer does is allow for a more continus flow of air through the carburetter making the carb work more consistent, caused by the straight flow of air, helping "iron out" the "shock waves" of air caused from the opening and closing of the valves, ALSO, due to the more continous flow, there is a better supply of air to the inlet ports, helping the engine breath, I always say, you want a good performance engine, then it has to breath good, both with headers, and inlet!
The spacer alows more air to be put in your engine. When this happen your car will add more fuel and then you have a bigger explosion in return more hp.
@hornjhrn The only way more air could go into the engine would be an increase of air presure such as a turbo, super charger, or or driving below sea level where the psi is greater than 14.7psi!
@rudedog062 You have a extra inch of space to hold air. Thats how you get more air into your engine. Also it must have done something because you even said you got worse gas millage in your video. How would you go threw more gas with adding this to your truck. The only way would be that the fact that it added more air to your engine and in return your vehicle added more fuel to add up for the extra air.
@hornjhrn An extra inch? An extra inch thats restricts air flow by slowing it down and adding turbulance! If God would have ment an engine to have a throttle body spacer it would have come with one!
@rudedog062 Think about it you even said that your MPG went down with it on. How else would that go down. You get more air in return your car gives you more fuel and then you have a bigger bang. So how else would your MPG go down.
Throttle body spacers are pretty much the same snake oil that the "Tornado" air spinning device is (IMO). @MaximusPrime2010 a block of aluminum cannot "speed up" air. The whistling sound that is sometimes produced proves this point. The whistle is produced by the air flowing straight over the ridges in the spacer instead of turning in the direction of the ridges causing the vibration of air (whistle).
you use a spacer only for extra intake, boring into the spacer ,to let other fuel's to inter the intake.like nitrus,or menthol.High octane profromance.a spacer will not make the ratio of fuel to be less or higher .its up to the intake ...carb,or injector...and some times the moisture in the air. makes a defer, nhra racers look into that factor.

This dude is awesome. I have to say your theory makes sense to me too.

I KNEW IT!! that spacer is a FAKE!

My take on the throttle body spacer, it's only suppose to speed up the air that's coming in from the air intake.
