  • This looks way better than the iPod and android versions I have.

In my opinion the WP7 app> iPhone app> android app.

Oh well at least I can still watch Netflix on my droid x and iPod.

  • I like windows phone 7!! (coming from an iphone 4 owner)

  • Blues Clues Season 3...lol.

  • I STILL DON'T GET WHY THEY DON'T CAPITALIZE ANY WORDS!

  • @aaronjim part of the metro UI

  • strange movie choice @ 0:35 for a windows demo...

  • @helderleal well done, nice observation skills! But not strange, where do you think this phone ''came'' from? :-b

  • android still the best

  • You're showing of this app for a phone that's not even out yet? Where the heck is the Android app? The world is waiting ;)

  • @Yourtravelboy well, netflix is based on microsoft's silverlight, makes sense as WP7 runs silverlight. we'll see about that android app though.

  • @green4strings You and I both know that an android app will work no matter what video format you use to stream and it will do very well and it's an in demand feature that a mass majority of your subscribers want. Please make it happen and fast, thanks :)

  • @Yourtravelboy Silverlight is not a video format. It is a framework Windows Phone 7 applications are created in. Native Android applications use Dalvik. Netflix may port their app to Android with small change.

  • @Yourtravelboy I never said that the videos wouldn't work, but the fact that Netflix's programers are already well versed in Silverlight means that it will be natural to just scale it down to a mobile app for the platform that will support Silverlight.

  • @green4strings So true. Guess it's time for them to change whatever they need to change in order to expand their viewer base. With over 200,000 new Android activations everyday, I think it would be a great market to get in :)

  • @Yourtravelboy Yeah, sure, completely revamp your entire infrastructure just so you can make an Android app while having to now remake all your other APIs hooked into (Xbox, PS3, iPhone, iPad, Wii, and multiple set top boxes, etc) to correspond with your new infrastructure... yeah. Just be patient and wait. You waited for Flash in 2.2 right?

  • @green4strings Yes the whole world waited in anticipation for flash to come to mobile devices. It took a while too and there are still a long way to go imo. Maybe they need to consider a different format for mobile devices or better, just create a sister company that would use a compatible format for Android. Since it's mobile they don't need to offer the same BIG screen HD and HD Audio. Smaller screens = smaller amount of data needed. This could work.

  • @Yourtravelboy Yes, but the point is not 'how much data you are moving' it's 'what is moving your data', and in this case it is Silverlight. Silverlight is made and used by Microsoft and Netflix already has their code ready to be directly ported (in short) to any phone supporting Silverlight.

  • Haha "Welcome to Macintosh"

  • Very cool, congratulations Microsoft !

But this Netflix is available for Europe in particular for Italy ?

  • Whats very cool about this is how it integrates with the Zune's "Music and Video" Hub so its not just Netflix, but Zune movies and TV, Youtube, etc.

  • that is so awesome!!! :D :D :D

  • sweet

  • oh no, no hulu app darn guess we have to settle with netflix ~sarcasm~

  • Very cool, indeed.

  • looks good!

  • It looks way cool!

  • first!
