Is Marriage a Prison?

I just think the likelihood of finding someone that you like & love...someone who also likes & loves you...someone who isn't afraid to commit to you once he/she realizes it...someone who isn't afraid to commit to the task of marriage...of both people seeing clearly and not through some romanticized or karmic lens...I just think the odds of all these things happening are impossibly small. I don't think marriage is inherently a prison, but I don't expect to find a lifelong partner either.

there are more than a couple of points that we need to take in consideration:

1) Indians don't hit their wives - utterly false, they do hit them for dowry and stuff.

2) Sikhs have a lower divorce rate - well sikh women are empowered with equal rights to men in everything. so they generally don't take crap. however, some crazy sikhs do hit their wives. I am a sikh and what i have learned is not to harm anything weaker than you forget your wife ;)

3) Divorce in sikhs - very very rare vs west..

That's such a crock. Marriage is just another thing outside of yourself that has no real value. No one "needs" marriage. It is a socialized concept.

hindo do divorce a lot sikhs not as much because they a lot of face value and family name issues. Sikhism requires a lot of displine so does marriage so that is why..
