Hahahaha I absolutely LOVED this video. I love it when you are talking about how sometimes you just have to do what you want and say F-U to everyone...Love it!
Y'know I hate to tell you this, but gender does't actually exist. It's strictly a social creation. It doesn't exist in nature. If you want to be feminine that's great. You're not conforming to societies expectations, which I approve of, but please consider that before removing your penis. You don't have to do that to be as feminine as you want.
What are you, some women's studies feminist idiot? It's not a social construct! There are biological and hormonal reasons why some people are gay, trans, bi, lesbian or straight, among other things. There are also similar reasons for why men and women like different things, generally. Women tend to be more into feminine and men masculine. Of course, this doesn't necessarily mean we have to completely conform to society's expectations on gender, but don't just make shit up, sniper.
Yes! Assertiveness and your right-to-individuality is your birth-right, its great to see a sister who refuses to put up with anybody's shit, go for it babes. May the road always rise with you. xx
yes more girl power too all off us t girls ;).lol hahahaaaaaa great talk again girl you rock bigtime in my book ..okeee bybybpeace8love hugies xxx alana:D
It may be harder to get a job but you're damn right, and you're my damn heroine! I'm just about to start my transition, for all my excuses didn't work.
Do you have a problem with that? It's my life, my choice, my happiness, i'm doing this for me, and even if you're not happy - Fuck you, get the hell out of my way, you have no business in my decisions.
Everytime I watch your vlogs I get this creepy feeling that you've read my mind, he he.
My nurse supervisor recently requested me to show more control, planning and command when dealing with patients with cognitive damages. I found that rather challenging because those are thought to be traits of hegemonic masculinity.
One might ask how valid this stereotyping is then when those qualities are actively taught in a profession with 96% women. Nevertheless I repressed them until she showed them.
Awsome Video, I agree with everything you said. I myself don't really look at 'most' personality traits as being either Masculine or Feminine.. They're just human qualities. Yes some are more common for males, and some more for females, but that doesn't mean a male is "this way" and a female is "that way". Girls can definitely kick ass too ;^) .. I actually find it kind of annoying when people act in a way that isn't who they really are because they think that's how they're supposed to act.
Another great video! You do an excellent job of putting videos together that should help Trans-people work through the process of transition.
Deciding that it was "acceptable" to keep many of my masculine traits/hobbies/characteristics was one of my last hurdles before transitioning. We find ourselves between genders in so many difficult ways, why not take the best of both genders as an advantage instead of limiting yourself to stereotypes and common perceptions you struggle to "portray"?
That was really interesting especially about the tiredness - I had always wondered about that. Re feminisation, my experience of having long fem style hair, shaved legs and arms is both men & women usually accept you as a person regardless of how you look. There are some who have issues, but they are very few - I found it a liberation, & looking forward to starting hormones in the next few months. For ref I did office work in Universities & charity sector (currently working for self).
I had reconstructive surgery in january and since my testosterone is now very low (lower then most women), I see a difference in my energy and motivation. I have to focus mentaly to stay motivated and strong. It seems that "physicaly" is less easy. But after few months, I now have a lot more energy.
Hormones are so important and it's when there are big changes with them that we can see how they affect our life.
You are so strong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And a definite role model of mine. From young 20s trans friend in Toronto!

Gender, strictly a societal construct.... That's the view they held in the 70s... Lead to at least two suicides that I know of, probably more.
As for my penis, I have no plans to remove it at this time. Why does every a****** seem to assume I want to have it removed?

The problem is that you can simply say "fuck you get out of my way" if you're trying to get a job. Do you've a job?
vonhatenfeld 3 years ago
Being assertive can actually help you get a job... You just have to show you are without insulting the interviewer ;)

My best guess would be INTJ, but I've just recently approached MBTI with any sort of seriousness.
