  • whoa, I need to read Hank's book.

  • Hank and charlie is so cool like should be the next companions

  • @TysonsLC TELL ME HOW!!!!! I have spent my whole life working on time travel I want to time travel tomorrow to!!

  • to john true a evil baby orphanage would solve stuff like hitlers crap or stalin mussolini etc. but the problem with that is then worse more insane people that in this future we have never heard of but they take over Europe and make the atomic bomb before we do and destroy america and then fight with each other till every one in the entire world died or has to kill other people to survive throwing the universe into chaos ending civilization and the human race or we could leave it alone.

  • @NERDSareTHEfuture Good isn't a vacuum of evil; unusually evil people are not forced to appear to compensate for years that lack evilness Good and evil are abstract concepts– they don't balance out like heat and air pressure, etc. The main danger with an EBO would probably be that if the Holocaust never happened we wouldn't be able to know what to prevent There is no "never again" warning if it never happened in the first place

  • TARDIS!

  • If you went back in time to change something, then it would already be changed, so you wouldn't have to change it, so you wouldn't, so it it wouldn't have been changed, so you will, so you won't, so you will. It's another paradox!

  • If, let's say, you go back in time and bring hitler to the evil baby orphanage, then when it's the present day, how could you have known to take him to the EBO? The universe wouldn't allow it, because, how could you take baby hitler to the EBO without knowing he was evil, then he would be at the EBO but how could you take him there? You wouldn't know to. So how could we make the EBO without messing up the universe?

  • Aliens are time travelers, they are just super evolved humans.

  • I think they should be non historical evil babys because if more people started doing less small evil for example Hitlers father marrieing his neice psichopath.

  • FALSE. PHIL OF THE FUTURE

  • Time Travel Steps:

Step 1.) Find a Police box

Step 2.) Wait intill a man called the Doctor shows up.

  • Timeturners. Ftw.

Also, if we stop the babies from becoming famously evil in the first place, would they be both famous evil babies and unfamous evil babies or only famous evil babies or only unfamous evil babies with the potential of beimg famous? O.o

  • Superman I. hahaha

  • WOW!!! this is my first time watching these videos and they halarious!!! it makes it great because he's knowladgable AND funny :D marry me!!!

  • Comment removed

  • The real problem: if you coud go back in time WHERE woud you be in that time in space. There is SOMETHING in every place, even in the void space between planets. You coud replace oxygen, or another person in that specific moment but what woud happen to that matter? A time with you back in time in that space does not exist, so you can not go back to a non-existimg time-space place.

  • I recently had a dream that my family had a long lost family heirloom that was a wormhole that could send you like 100 years into the future (I don't know, long enough to not meet yourself) and also allows people that same amount of time in the past (whoever had the time portal before you) to travel into your present. Weirdly though, my great grandchildren looked nothing like me. ;) -- Danielle

  • I've always wondered why doctor who never bumps into himself.. Like, I think it would be pretty cool to get a future doctor to come in for an episode.. or the 10th doctor. 10th and 11th should meet! Would that be too strange?

  • @Julessftl actually Doctor who has bumped into himself. lolz

Also types of M-theory allows us to travel back in time to before 'now' and don't cause a grandfather paradox and explain why we don't see space tourists. But it's ruddy complicated. =D

  • I like your idea better, because (frankly) John's sounds more convoluted (even though it does sound really cool). I don't know if this is possible or not, but H.P. Lovecraft wrote about the Great Race of Yith, who used technology to switch their minds with those of people from the past (thus, they were never noticed by people whose timelines they visited. In Dark Shadows Barnabs Collins did something with magic. Also, I think going fast only works if you turn. Good luck with the book.

  • There is the school of thought that time is just a construct of our own making and does not actually exist. Think for a moment how we use time. It's a system of measuring one event to the next i.e. what you did "last thursday" until what we describe as now(which of course is constantly changing). Our growth from a collection of genetic material to our eventual death is marked by a system of our own devising to describe that passage and that of those who preceded us and those who will be.

  • your Charismatic!!!

  • UHP BUP BUP! WHY does the the owner of the evil baby orphandge is a DUDE!?

  • actually i am a time traveler-a lot of people are. It's just that they don't want to alter time and accidentally create time travel before its time. In fact there are a lot of geniuses who are actually time travelers who know future information. like, if you go back 100 years and tell people about cell phones, you're kinda crazy. also, here's an interesting tid-bit. some people from the future go to the past and provide humanity with future knowledge to "jump start" human creativity. it's great.

  • one day my sister and I were talking about if I had gone in the past from the future right to the moment when we were talking about time travel, it would be awesome and freaky, but it didn't happen.

  • How could they be historical evil babies if you kidnaped them before they were historical. for example have you heard of Cheddar Chuckman? No of course you haven't he was a US dictator, but you don't know that because there is an evil baby somewhere (or sometime) that has already kidnapped Mr.Chuckman and brought him to the evil baby orphanage. So we never remember him at all.

  • Thanks to this video I am a whovian!:D

  • Please, guys! We aready have a way to travel through time! We have the TARDIS! DUH!!!

  • How do we know there aren't time travelers among us and they're just very good at blending in?

  • So, we CAN (theoretically) go see the future and have a way back?

    I can live with that.

  • i think both types of babies and time travel is hard be cause we dont know if its one fixed time line or a ballof wibbly wobly timey wimey

  • why not just steal the tardis?

  • IMPORTANT QUESTION!

If I create a womhole time machine now, and it 30 years time I decide to go through it, round up some evil babies and come back, will the wormhole still be there for me when I have finished collecting the evil babies?

If the wormhole is a spesific point in spacetime not just a spesific point in space, how do we get back to the future?! This is a question which needs to be answered! Physics nerdfighters please help!

  • wait but if u go back in time you being there could create an alternet dimention because u have influenced the people around you

  • So, this means that if there are no time travelers, time machines haven't been invented yet. So, once time machines have been invented, we will start to see time travelers.

  • @SuperCheezyGuy i wouldn't think so. i think if time travel was possible, and has or will happened, we would see time travelers now, because basically, all of time is happening at once for the time travelers to come back. if it is possible the only reason they wouldn't would be the time travelers just choose never to come back to this time.

  • @TheDancinflamingo also if it existed, there would be no advancement in technology, because time travelers could come back in time and leave or teach advanced technology to the people in the past, basically ruining people's ideas, rewriting things that have already happened, creating a similar paradox to the grandfather paradox.

  • @TheDancinflamingo btw this is coming from a 13 year old girl with a knowledge of time travel only through doctor who and this video, so there might be some serious gaps in what i know :S

  • @TheDancinflamingo You are thinking of time not in a linear way. If you think of it in a linear way, than time traveling backwards would be impossible (according to the person in the video) unless you have already visited the past or invented the time machine in said time period

  • The Doctor's solution to "what if i kill my grandfather?!": "Are you planning to?". What about the chaos theory problem with time travel; that just by being a part of a situation (or not) you change everything about it? How about the idea of multiple dimentions; that you can't actally change one time line but you can cause yourself to be thrown into a new one? Time travel makes my head go swimmy...

  • I think it would be amazing if the Green brothers went on the be Doctor

  • You don't MAKE a time machine, you GROW one.

  • To build an evil baby orphanage without time travel would require attendants versed in both personality theory as it applies to babies and precognition. This way they'd be able to pick the babies whose personalities lend themselves to being evil and then see if they in fact become evil based on their future surroundings and upbringing. Nature+Nurture

  • @SMFortissimo My teacher says people behave do to nature or nurture example: if you have a nice nature your nice or. nurture: if the parent treats the kid nicly the kid will be nice.

  • @snowingsilver Exactly! And if an evil baby orphanage were to be constructed, I think both a baby's nature (i.e. implicit, inborn personality) and the baby's nurture (i.e. the situation they will be born into) must be taken into account.

  • has anyone read The Time Machine Repair Man, by Charles Yu. It's very thought provoking.

  • Solve the Grandfather Paradox: It's simple, kill him after your mother/father is born :D

  • If you were a time traveler and you could go back in time, would you really tell everyone that your from the future?

I have given this alot of thought over many years and have decided I would only tell a select few. This in its self would be hard as one of the people I would tell would be dead and the rest would be alive in my time.

  • The thing about the evil baby orphanage is that we'd never know the difference. the person doing the work involved would, but for us, we'd wake up tomorrow and Hitler would simply never have existed as a historical figure. That would be how it always was for us. So maybe they're working on it, and we just don't remember the people that destroyed our civilizations because now they never did.

  • I became a time traveller tomorrow

  • Oh, I agree. Stewie Griffin must be stopped.

  • I want to be able to time travel to see loads of historical events and also I want to meet the Doctor and aliens :)

  • wha?

  • HOW DO we know if a baby is evil if they havent been evli yet

  • The thing about "loop holes that the universe just shouldn't allow" is that we dismiss these loop holes until they are proven to be true.

For example, Einstein found in his calculations that there should be things called black holes, but dismissed that idea because it seemed like too much of an abomination.

Long story short (too late!), don't knock the Tardis!

  • if you could go back to "today" you could just kill yourself and have the same effect

  • @chipiy172 why everything shoud be about killing? the future you will remember if you meet yourself; will also remember if you killed yourself which is a paradox => time travelling is not possible even if I wish it woud. Maybe there is a solution to this but we haven't not found it yet.

  • I became I time traveler yesterday, then I went back in time.

  • we could have an evil baby orphanage without time travel starting from now. The probelm would be knowing which babys were evil before they became adults and started causing harm.

  • So...if we had the ability to a) travel at the speed of light to go forward in time and b) create wormholes and move one of those really fast to be able get back to this point, does that mean we could create some kind of Universal 'save point'? So if we do it all wrong we could just come back to the beginning of the level and start over?

  • @Stompy1 Yes but so many people would want to use it and they would all come out at the same time that you would create an area of matter so dense that it would create a black hole which would pinch the wormhole shut.

  • Rosen-edinburgh bridge?

  • the TARDIS is what caught my eye

  • If you were a time traveller and you were in a future where you could access YouTube telepathically, enter virtual realities, go on holiday to the moon, eat a never ending ice-cream or go shopping in your hover car... would you really come back to now? Really? And if you did, would you tell anyone that you were a time traveller? Cause they'd want to go back with you. And maybe it's more difficult to go back to the future than we think and people don't want to risk getting stuck. Just a thought.

  • we need the doctor and Rory the roman

  • Hi, Hank(or John). Got an idea...to make EBO... issues resolveable... to A) Make story happen and b) Decrease ReAL world suck,,... but... your post is years old... can you write DaveBoRamaNessOssity_the_thuhd on the ning or if you still have interest!

  • Time And Relative Dimensions In Space :)

  • it is called teh TARDIS XD that how we travle back in time

  • What happened to this novel?!?!? Someone please answer!

  • in order to acheive backwards time travel, all we need to do is run backwards at near the speed of light.

  • what do evil babies have to do with Matt Smith? Well, River Song, but... meh.

  • This is a lot like Charlie's video.

  • I love nerds! Awesome glasses!

  • You can kill your grandfather. It's called a paradox. Time can be rewritten.

  • Hank, you are thinking of time as a linear progression instead of the ball of wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff it actually is.

  • @Prelota i love how connected nerdfightaria is with all of my numerous fandoms :)

  • @Prelota he's not thinking 4th dimensionally.

  • Ivan The Terrible

    by Joan Bos

Ivan IV "the Terrible" of Russia (1530-1584) was a cruel tyrant, who never knew the meaning of moderation; he drank too much, laughed too loudly and hated and loved too fiercely. And he never forgot anything. Ivan was definitely smart and, despite his cruelty, his reign is a great one in Russian annals. In Russia Ivan was called "Grozny", which has always been translated to "the Terrible", but actually means "the Awesome".

  • @gimlic A man made of awesome? Clearly an escaped baby from the orphanage. All other evil people are those he helped escape.

  • my grandfather is awesome, why would I want to kill him? Loop hole solved...don't loop

  • The way I see it, time is a man-made creation. We made the concept of seconds, years and centuries, so technically to go back in time all you have to do is turn every clock or calendar in the world back to the time you want to go to, and get everyone to agree that it is that time.

Going back to event that have already happened... that's harder....

  • TARDIS IN THUMBNAIL!

  • nohistroical. I don't want a paradox.

  • i actually think that hank's idea of non-historical baby orphans is more interesting...

  • Talk of paradoxes and the occasional mention of Shrodinger's cat makes me want to go re-read Will Grayson, Will Grayson ^^ Off to the bookshelf!

  • I like the tardis thumbnail(;

  • I was thinking about the Grandfather Paradox the other day I think that it wouldn't work like that because the universe would be depending (that's right the universe is no longer on the X-axis) on you going back in time.

  • it has been theorised by theoretical physicists that flying into the centre of a black hole can cause time travel. and before anyone asks, yes they have also theorised a way of flying into the centre of a black hole without dieing

  • Whoa Hank wrote a novel??

  • Anyone know what happened to the novel?

  • Maybe time travellers are afraid to reveal themselves because of the chance of the grandfather paradox?

  • @StefanAjax101 That's true.

  • I'm on no one's side. I think the evil baby orphanage is inherently wrong because it's like punishing people for things they haven't done yet. It's essentially like punishing my little sister because of something I did. The people that did those things are not the babies they once were and the babies you'd be kidnapping are not the people they will become.

  • @hereverydayadventure Its much better than the original plan to kill all of the evil babies. That's why the evil baby orphanage was created. So we didn't have to kill the babies for something they haven't down yet but we still wouldn't let them do it. So we take them to the evil baby orphange where they will become awesome nerdfighters and help decrease world suck

  • @katherine9997 But maybe the world would inherently suck more without the atrocities the "evil babies" would grow up to commit. The Holocaust for example was a horribly awful event in human history! But it also united the Jewish community in ways we are still discovering. Maybe without baby Hitler the Jewish bloodline would have completely died out and the world would have lost their precious culture. Maybe the world would have failed to see the evils of antisemitism until it was too late.

  • @katherine9997 I think history has to take it's course and humanity has to learn from past wrongs.

  • They should be both.

And if you haven't seen Doctor Who then stop frickin talking about him!

  • paradoxes hurt my head and make me sad. but i love to think about them

  • I watch doctor who and I know that if you were to go back in time you could change the way some thing happened creating a paradox (river). But I only half under stood that

  • The grandfather paradox is false. It has been scientifically proven that if you were to travel back In time that you would enter a different dimesion. It wouldn't matter if you killed your grandfather then because it does not affect you own dimension. All you would do is get yourself into alot of trouble in that dimension. Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. I'm only 13 so I don't pay too much attention to science so the theory could have been updated. DFTBA Hank! ;)

  • @hailbopthecomet Technically speaking, for something to be scientifically proven, it must be proven as such by a repeatable experiment or observation. However, it is very possible that it was theoretically proven (via mathematics). In either case, your theory is rather plausible. However, the theory proposed by JAMBO4358 is a good one as well, since it opperates on the same principles of Schoedinger's Cat.

  • Non-Historical; Its just like going back and killing your grandfather, if you took Adolf Hitler to the evil baby orphanage the world might blow up or something.

  • anser. we leave a letter for ourselfs on to go back in time to grab the evil baby, their by creating a time loop.

    ha! ha! i'm a genus!!

  • my qustion is if we travel back in time to get the evil babys then they wont become evil. So, how do we knowto get them?

  • There's also the infinite number of ways to create a time paradox -- that, of course, depends on your views of time and parallel universes (if time is always changing due to time travel, an infinite number of parallel universes opens up every instant; if you view time as an unchanging line that will right itself anyway, you won't create a paradox, but new universes still open up). Either way, there's still a parallel universe where nothing has changed...now we need to find out how to get there.

  • I believe that for a single entity to disappear from one point in time to another would require an imbalance in the amount of matter in the universe (one point suddenly has more matter than the previous). The only way for time travel to work is to increase or reverse the actual flow of time, or alter your own perception of time. I wrote a novel about it.

  • if you create a wormhole today, your granchild could kill you

    STILL A PARADOX!

  • wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait.....no flux capasitor?

  • The problem with the evil baby orphanage is that once the evil baby is in the orphanage it's evil adult form never existed thus not making an evil baby...I think

  • @naMnwoDedispU yes, the EVIL adult form never existed...however...the baby itself still exists. Really, you just create an alternate timeline. For more on this, please see the Back to the Future Trilogy

  • Non-historical!

  • Hanks side, sorry John

  • Whatever happened to this book? I suppose Hank doesn't have the time for it any more :(

  • Internet Trolls. Facepalm.

  • I am on your side 100% my dear friend. Everyone who knows me knows i not only hate jhon but the sound of his name almost kills me. Which makes me very mad at you because you just said his name. Either way i'm on your side. Also Jhons amazing the whole i hate him thing is a complete joke that i have with my friends but i do like you more.

  • Evil babies from a state of preexistence.

  • the problem with the evil baby orphanage is that if you went back and time to kidnap an evil baby, that baby would never do the evil thing that motivated you to go back in time and kidnap the baby in the first place. i am of coarse assuming that you kidnap the baby to stop that bad thing from happening, otherwise it would be stupid.

  • Easy, I live in Alberta which is on mountian time. If I travel west to British Columbia, it magically becomes Pacific time AND I WENT BACK AN HOUR IN TIME!!!

Also if you want to go forward in time head East.

  • @harelquindemon but you cant go back further than 24 hours.

  • The TARDIS is a woman! When I watched that I was just like What. The. Fuck? That never really needed to w and kind of ruined the TARDIS for me :(

  • @OwlCityFan26

It only makes since. The thing that the Doctor can never leave behind, the thing that he needs the most all the time has the essence of a woman.

  • @randomlyfresh23 well, yeah, I guess so, but it couldn't have just been inanimate :( which, really, would make more sense in a science-fiction.

  • my brain hurts

  • biggest problem i see would be the impact to society as a whole. what if Ghandi's dad was a tyrant and we put himin an orphanage, thereby eliminating Ghandi from ever existing since now the father never meets the mother as his life now takes an alternate path, basically i'm saying, round up all the "world suck" and you'll wind up eliminating just as much good, thereby keeping natures balance.

  • You have 2 parents

    4 Grandparents

    8 Great Grandparents

    16 Great-Great Grandparents

    32 Great-Great-Great Grandparents.

And population is lower back in time.

So there is more chance of a grandfather paradox the further back you go.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheFabledWelshOne Not all of them! :)

  • @completeidiot19 The doctor dies 200 years after they go to the cafe

  • @john0donavan0ritter I know that it seems that he died but Steven Moffat is head writer so you never know! :)

  • You kill your grandfather... AFTER your mom/dad was born. There.

  • If we already know how to go forward in time, though it is difficult, then why don't we travel forward in time to see all the evil people there then come back to our time and put those people we saw into the Evil Baby Orphanage. Then if we want we can go forward in time again to see what our handy work has done for the world.

  • There's also the multiverse option(s): with the knowledge that--every time we 'decide between multiple options'--a new universe is created for each possibility (ranging from 'yes or no' to 'number of units-long to make that next step, and at which angle respective to the prime meridian'). The universe in which time-travel was invented makes it impossible for time-travel in any other universe. But if there were a way to jump from one universe to the next ... "Oh boy!" (QUANTUM LEAP)

  • um.. flashbacks?...

  • even tho its impossible if you to travel faster than the speed of light you would be seeing that had already happened due to the fact that light doesn't age

  • Some say that time is a strict progression from cause to effect, but actually, from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's like a big ball of wibbly wobbly timey Wimey....stuff.

    It's called a TARDIS, Hank. c:

  • Butterfly effect ruins all time travel theories.

  • If this time machine is created and you did go back in time and carry out the evil baby orphanage plan it wouldn't effect us now and the likeliness that you cold get all the evil babies captured in a single timeline is slim.

  • my problem with the evil baby orphanage is if the evil babies stay evil cause thats just how their brains work or whatever than you've got all the evil babies together in one place to plot world domination and that seems like a bad idea....

  • I'm on Hank's side

  • Come on, have you ever watched Doctor Who? How reluctant is he to tell people what he does? Therefore, its entirely possible that Time Travellers are here and now, but keep themselves hidden. Also, I like the theory that, if i go back, i've already been back, so whatever happened that i needed to change, i either already changed to the present or failed to change. Therefore, you cannot kill your grandfather because you did not kill your grandfather

  • @JAMBO4358 that means i didnt save john lennon, and thats just based on a fixed model there could be a paradoxical time model

  • @JAMBO4358

they did when they were younger. I think. Don't take that to the bank

  • @JAMBO4358 yes finally someone understands this is why i dont want time travel to happen cause we would be fucked but heres the thing if time travel happens and we do destroy the universe would the explosion or implosion or however the universe decides to react to would it destroy the past and future if yes then im pretty sure that we dont destroy the universe or we never invent time travel also what if and i know this sucks but what if without hitlers genocide the person who made the time

  • @JAMBO4358 machine never exists so yea time travel awesome concept but would destroy us and this is only for future time travel how can a time machine send us to the future if what we did in the past and what we do in the present causes the future man my head hurts

  • @JAMBO4358 YES! the 2nd half of your comment is the most plausible i think- it is the kind of time travel in Harry Potter 3, and it makes the most sense

  • @JAMBO4358 or you can not fail to kill him, because he died

  • Please get to time travel before I start asking for a pill to kidnap you with after becoming impatient to get you into my life(and don't worry, I'm not a stalker, I was referencing David Tennant's character in L.A. Without a Map).

  • Doesn't time travel require the energy of a star? and that's also another reason why it is difficult to time travel?

  • One problem: The Butterfly Effect.

  • @TheFlurryofFlames So don't kill any butterflies. what have butterflies ever done to you?

  • Thank You for this video!Cause of it I watch doctor who now!Oh and time tuner.Or Tardis.

  • Why cant we just take my delorean???

  • they should totally be historical evil babies!

  • tonight i time traveled back into now with this vid ;) i did it with a little meth, crack and.......... JELLY BABIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @SuperGMSCat Everytime someone says Jelly Baby, Amy Pond Cries.

  • I know all about time traveling now, thanks to Hank and Charlie Mcdonnell. Thank you!

  • Have you never watched Doctor Who.

  • 10 MEGTON BOMB!!!

  • mmmm, jelly baby

  • Would anyone like a jelly baby?

  • omg thats what ive always wondered, if time travel can happen then why havent we seen any timetravelers

  • Time travel:

    1) Get rabies

    2) Tie a mattress/Christmas tree to the top of your car

    3) Light it on fire

    4) Drive really fast

    5) Get Bumped around by other cars

    6) Drive into a solid surface with enough force to kill yourself

    7) Either you die, or POOF you appear back in time... Thank you Rant...

  • Actually, I can think of an instance where the evil baby orphanage has happened, and failed because of one of the best wizards of all time. Yes evil Voldimort grew up in an orphanage! Think! If it weren't for Dumbledore, Volde- Tom Riddle- wouldn't have known he was a wizard, and the Wizarding world would have had 2 less wars. But wait... because of the lack of Voldemort, and Deatheaters... would that give way to the possibility that Snape could be Harry's dad?

  • @Nerdfighterian Well, I would imagine someone other than Voldemort would've come up with an equal ambission to that of Voldemort or, like, Grindewald, etc.

  • @Nerdfighterian but then harry wouldn't have existed!! And neither would his children! who, you have to say, are pretty awesome. and i'm sure voldemort would have still used his magic for evil and the ministry would have detected it eventually

  • @Nerdfighterian But someone would have had to tell Tom about him being a wizard. It just so happened to be Dumbledore. And anyway, he was already aware of his power, doing things like killing other kids' rabbits and hurting people and stuff.

  • The problem with John's point is that if you have historical babies in the evil baby orphanage, that's a paradox because if you takebaby Hitler and put him in the orphanage, you would then have no reason to go back in time and kidnap baby Hitler thus creating some kind of alternatin loop whereby Hitler is allowed to do his evil then not then is then not in a constant and unending loop!!

  • @violafish101 how will we know which babies grow up to be evil?

  • Personaly I think that instead of changing the pasts evil babys we should find todays evil babys and prevent them from doing evil.

  • Thank You for this video cause of it I watch Doctor Who.

  • he forgot the superman theory that if the world would rotate the world the opposite way fast enough that time would travel backwards which is sort of retarded if u think about it i mean who is so stupid to come up with that

  • he forgot the superman theory that if the world would rotate the opposite way fast enough that time would travel backwards which is sort of retarded if u think about it i mean who is so stupid to come up with that
