Science £00:00 ....Sport £13.6 Billion on a sports ground in EAST London WTF, this says it all as far as UK science is concerned.

jodrell bank is a very important part of the north west. it needs to be kept. its also taking part in SETI (i think, but almost positive) and its crucial that it is kept running. i live in manchester, a couple of miles from it and i sometimes go there for meetings at the astromeny club that i attend. basically, ITS VERY IMPORTANT!!!

A visit to Jodrell bank made me decide to study physics (although not Manchester). I got a tour by Ian Morris. It was awesome. I would literally cry if it were shut down.

How could half of Europes radio telescope area be 'low priority'?

i have sent an e-mail to three newspapers, and three local mps, it is decided in three days and i have my fingers crossed that it will keep funding! i would HATE it if jodrell was shut down.............=[

Save it please. When I was at school in Liverpool in the sixties, we went on a day out to Jodrell Bank. That visit re-inforced my desire to keep abreast and be part of engineering. It is an icon, and STILL delivering the goods. Maybe the reduction in MPs expense clains can be used to contribute to keeping this USEFUL facility alive.
