When this came out, they had double features. GOD, how I hated this being teamed with......"Barbarella" I saw it sooooo many times. Just the BEST. Love you always Butch
I've always believed that that card playing scene is one of the best scenes in any movie. "I didn't know you were the Sundance Kid when I said you were cheating..." There's just so much said and unsaid in that scene and it's really a great way to introduce the characters. Two of the best actors ever, and now one of them is in a better place. God bless, Mr. Newman.
Hell to the no! this film is a classic and anything different would dull this gem. in what you suggest, the film would be focused on special effects and anyone other than redford and newman as the outlaws would be far from their caliber performance-wise. it would be cool, but the original still stands the test of time for a reason.
I have to agree, what a tease! I can't wait to see the rest! Redford and Newman are both legends, and although Mr. Redford's views can be a bit strong at times, he doesn't really try to push them on others, he simply states what he believes. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, which is what makes this country great.
Paul Newman, however, played a bit of a softy in this movie. He was never too tough of a tough guy. Ironically, he was the one who really put his (relatively) liberal money where his mouth was with the charitable "Newman's Own" brands. I have to say I do respect what he has done (but doesn't talk much about, which I respect even more!)

Such a shame. One of the good guys and true legends. Not a bad age though, many people get worse deals. RIP Paul.

I wish they would redo this movie, with new actors and new props and stuff it would be a great film.
