quickest way to extract is by dragging the file out of the zip-file... no need to open 53 different menus just to do 1 action...

@Ankstek013 Yeah 7zip is faster than WinRar, but 7zips is still slow because it's limited by NTSF. I prefer ECT 4, it holds alot more, it's faster, and its backwards compatible with 3 and 2. You are correct; I use Linux.

@TheTIprogrammer Well, I don't use Linux on a regular basis, I use windows 7 like most people do. Though Linux is cool and open source and all. NTFS is faster than FAT32, so NTFS it is for my part. And how do you meen that ECT 4 holds alot more? A larger maximum file size? Because I've never hit that limit.

@Ankstek013 NTSF allows you 2tb max hdd. ECT 4 Allows one Exabyte. I noticed that you play Minecraft, copy your saves and paste them onto your Desktop. In windows 7 it will take anywhere from 17-30 minutes. That's a tad ridiculous.

@TheTIprogrammer 2TB/volume, not per disk. 256TB is the max disksize, but yeah that is a little bit dumb. But I don't have a harddrive bigger than 640GB so for me it is not a problem. Also, NTFS works best under Windows and EXT4 works best under Linux. If EXT4 would work in Windows, I'd surely use it.

all you have to do to run the emulator is make the device on the sdk and then press start lol.... whats the command prompt for?

i unzipped it with windows utility and it took about 15 sec. win rar is slower because it has to open it up but windows exploror is always open

@vitalyb I disagree. When I was learning Java at school, our computers came with eclipse already set up. I wanted to get it on my home computer but I had never learned about JDK. So I watched a tutorial that happened to include download and install instructions and that helped me out a lot. If you already know how to install the SDK, that's fine, but this tutorial still helps lots of novices such as myself.

After adding to the path with a semicolen you have to reboot. If its still not working, you might have the wrong path entered.

I know people explain this with their feet...

The path u change under enviroment variables is called "Path".Once you dbl click on path, you add the path to tools dir, AT THE END of the Path ALREADY in Path..that part is explained here
