  • lying bitch! she said before the war that saddam was a threat and that he had wmds! she stood behind this war in the start! the democrats are no different! they will lie us into war again! they are just playing like they are against it now because the majority of the people want this to be over, but it won't be over! the democrats will continue on the wars and wage more wars!

  • yes she is a lying bitch! she lied us into war like the rest of them! she too is a war criminal like bush and company! she should be indicted with them!

    watch?v=xwDJRBOsj78

  • say it Nancy, for god sakes say it. We liberals are a bunch of pussies.

  • all talk no balls.

  • In a sought after defeat, humbled democratic leaders met with Mr. Bush at the White House where House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said they would work with the administration to get a spending bill completed without a bunch of bribes and pullout time tables in it to him ASAP.

  • where can I get a transcript of these speeches? I'd reblog them (with my comments) if I had them.

  • May God be with you Mrs. Pelosi, you have my support! Thank you and our wonderful congress for fighting against this corrupt dictatorship that King George and MadDog Cheney have tried to pull off on the American people! "We the People" have the congress back, and I am shooting for a "Hat Trick," for 2008! Long live America and freedom!(smile)

  • "Why Grandma, what big teeth you have!"

  • The debate IS over. A key observation is the left fails to participate in rational discourse on any message board anywhere they post. They rely on fiction and platitudes to make their points. It seems they feel they must "fight for their right" to destroy America's values as to shape it into some hideous EU clone or worse. They simply cannot win arguments on their own merit, insults and hyperbole allows them to "win" an argument. And now a Pelosi troll will filibuster.

  • In your concept of debate you resort to ad hominem or straw men arguments supported by false accusations regularly. I defy you to identify fiction, hyperbole, platitudes, or an attack on American values on my part in our discussion RedRules4Real. The greatest fiction is your description of the left wing opposition. I've enjoyed organized debates since high school and never faced accusations (excuses) such as yours.

  • Filibuster is a tactic such as a long irrelevant speech or several such speeches used to delay or prevent the passage of legislation or to prevent the opposition from speaking.

A troll is someone who intentionally posts derogatory or otherwise inflammatory messages about sensitive topics in an established online community such as an online discussion forum to bait users into responding. When did I do these things RedRules4Real?

  • Speaker Pelosi, you're responsible for extending the tour lengths of the troops currently deployed in Iraq. Over 70 days ago the President sent Congress an emergency war spending bill that would provide funding for the troops getting the job done in Iraq and Afghanistan. Instead of funding the troops appropriately you played political games with this issue, thus with the lives of our troop's. The consequences of your actions are it reduces military readiness and preparedness. Fund them now.

  • Your statement is in itself a Spurious political argument RedRules4Real for the following reasons: Bush complained that "it has now been 57 days since I requested that Congress pass emergency funds for our troops", In 2006, with Republicans in control of Congress, it took 119 days for Congress to pass a supplemental funding bill after Bush requested it and in 2005 (with Republicans also in control), it took 86 days to pass such a bill.

  • In a March 28 memo to the Senate Budget Committee, the Congressional Research Service found that the Army would be able to fund its operations in Iraq through most of July with the money it has now. President Bush knows this and so does congress. Bush chooses to ignore this fact to make contrary statements for political purposes.

  • Pelosi porked up a supplemental bill for the troops to force others into supporting her charade. She knew Bush wouldn't support her fantasy, thus she delayed the funding and forced the troop extensions. Therefore, the ramifications on readiness become her responsibility. Shifting the blame is a sad and pathetic rebuttal.

  • What is sad is your refusal to look at the facts. We have until July to get a bill passed. Adding pork to and cutting it from bills to get them passed is a tradition the Republicans are equally adept at. In fact negotiating bills is a long-standing bipartisan tradition. Why is it only a problem when you or Bush says so RedRules4Real ?

  • RedRules4Real: You have probably figured out that you will not be able to use logic or reason with easymike, liberals/democrats are allowed to state their views or have an opinion the rest of us are not.

  • Showtime, yes indeed, an embodiment of a cliché for what the progressive movement expects from their card carrying party members.

  • I have never made an unsupportable blanket condemnation of all people on the Right nor made a false assumption about your ideology as you and showtime5700 have done. If this is the use of logic and reason then you are right and I want no part of it. But then of course it isn't logical or reasonable is it showtime5700 and Redrules4real?

  • Actually showtime5700 an opinion is something that everyone has. Opinions are not reality based without the support of facts. All I ever attempt to do in my discussions or debates is to compare your facts with my facts. If we collect enough facts we might find the truth. I usually challenge fact bare opinions. Blind beliefs are not helpful in resolving the complicated political issues that we face today.

  • Ah yes, the Liberal mind at work again, they believe they're omnipotent, infallible and righteous on all issues. In their minds no one can out debate them, as they are the judge and the jury on these kinds of matters. It's a shame that reality eludes them and perhaps the speaker will have someone by her a clue on the Middle East.

  • Pelosi says, "The Administration is sending troops into the battle that are not mission ready" and "They are not receiving the training and equipment that they need before being sent into harms way." However the facts speak otherwise, comparing casualties of Iraq to Vietnam, you would find that it would take over 70 years for the Iraq numbers (3K) to reach Vietnam's numbers (58K). Seems Democrats want to change all of that by lying to the people and micromanaging the war.

  • The "war" in Iraq is technically, mechanically, geographically and strategically different than Viet Nam and won't support the same casualty comparisons. The new technology produces more wounded than dead, which the Bush administration did not prepare for. Not only is Pelosi correct, in some cases troops are having to purchase their own gear.

  • EM, the fact it would to over 70 YEARS of fighting in Iraq to reach the Vietnam casualty rate is indeed a basis for comparison. You reject it simply because it doesn't support your position. Yes, troops sometimes buy their own gear, always have.

  • I reject it because it was a diffedrent war, in a different place, with different strategy, tactics, technology, etc, Ask any competent General or believe what you like.

  • The new technology saves lives, perhaps the left should spend some time asking the wounded if they preferred to be dead...

  • "The new technology saves lives, perhaps the left should spend some time asking the wounded if they preferred to be dead..." This is just plain silly. You sound intellectually spent RedRules4Real. Not a challenge just an observation.

  • EM, clearly you're very upset that more of the troops aren't dead and you blame the "new technolgy" for that. I suppose if there were more dead in Iraq it would bolster Pelosi's case. Perhaps that's the real reason she doesn't want to fund the troops new equipment?

  • Yes we loves them little straw men, straw men is what we loves to eat. Fist we bites they heads off then we nibble on they tiny little feet.

Look RedRules4Real if you have a point to debate present it. Since your last posts have degenerated into unsupported accusations I assumed the debate was over.

I am far from upset about anything. I sometimes find humor in predictable idiosyncrasies.

  • Liberal ideology defines morality, economics, and social standings by whatever measure they determine progress to be. Liberal progress says its okay for there to be abortion on demand, that it should be morally acceptable to everyone because "a woman has a right to choose [ the life or death of a fetus]." Their progress economically is measured by how high taxes can be raised to improve social standings of the unmerited. Progressives by another name are Social Fascists.

  • Liberals don't think that the government should dictate morality any more than religion should be joined with the state as stated in our constitution. They don't like taxes anymore than anyone else but would rather expend revenues in support of humanity rather than war. There is nothing fascist in this thinking.

  • The left's slogan of "support the troops, but not the war" is akin to saying that they like Christians, but don't believe in their right to have a religion. Their ideology is illogical and counter to the American culture and more importantly to our way of life. What if the overwhelming number of Americans had said they support Martin Luther King, Jr. just not his civil rights mission and then the media supported that misguided view as they do with Iraq? It's sad the left is so hypocritical.

  • What the Right believes and how little they apparently understand about Liberals, Leftists, Progressives, Democrats, etc. is astonishing RedRules4Real. Unlike the Neoconservative inspired Right whose ideology has predetermined how society ought to be, there is no single ideology defining the left. We are not sheep who can be lumped into a homogeneous herd and we recognize that our fellow humans should not be either. So whatever generalization you apply to the left it is sure to be wrong.

  • EM say's "there is no single ideology defining the left." Conversely, liberal ideology is: They don't have to back up their positions with facts or logic because they are omnipotent on all issues which makes everyone else wrong. Anyone who disagrees with them is referred to as "sheep" or "homogenous herd" and anyone having a differing but logical analysis of an issue will be accused of working from GOP approved talking points. Bottom line: disagree and they will hate you.

  • You are not describing an ideology but giving generalized opinions that are impossible for you to back up. That is a fallacious argument RedRules4Real. Because scholars, scientists, authors, intellectuals, etc abound on the left it would be silly to make arguments without facts. The left loves logical, factual arguments, I do. I defy you to name one liberal argument that does not employ facts. Disagreement does not connote hate. That is an untrue accusation often heard from the right.

  • "scholars, scientists, authors, intellectuals, etc abound on the left it would be silly to make arguments without facts. The left loves logical, factual arguments"

EM, have you ever seen a Michael Moore movie or watch Bill Mahr?

  • Yes, More is a filmmaker and Maher is a comedian. They have an assortment of opinions based on a myriad of facts. Have you ever heard of Noam Chomsky or Thomas Jefferson? You seem to have a narrow, uneducated view of liberal or progressive. Much of your language comes from the lexicon of Neoconservative propaganda. When you hear hate, evil, Fascist, Communist, etc. it's time to do open minded research. You might find that most pro choice folk don't believe in abortion for themselves.

  • "You seem to have a narrow, uneducated view of liberal or progressive." Not all, I just disagree with them, so hate me...

  • Beleive what you like. You would not hold up five seconds in a debate in my town.

  • Yea, I live in one of those liberal college towns where we kill babies, strangle puppies, hate America, hate our troops, hate good, hate religion, hate when my business shows a profit ... boy we hate so much it's hard to enjoy a bicycle ride on a sunny day but what really makes us happy is straw men, evil and taxes. Sugar we loves us some taxes. Taxes, taxes, taxes the more we get the more puppies we eat. Enjoy your black and white world RedRules4Real.

  • Read my statement carefully RedRules4Real.

"We are not sheep who can be lumped into a homogeneous herd and we recognize that our fellow humans should not be either."

  • EM, ask yourself how many times have you called someone on the right "sheep" or some variant thereof? Be honest. Then ask yourself why you called them that...

  • Not only have I not referred to the Right in general I have not called them sheep. I have always pointed my criticism toward the Bush administration and Neoconservatives. I have never criticized Republicans, Conservatives, etc. I think that Neocons have ruined the Republican Party, polluted poor puddinhead's susceptible brain and would have destroyed America if it weren't for the incompetent debacle in Iraq. We are all fortunate that intellectual inbreeding caused failure.

  • "I think that Neocons have ruined the Republican Party, polluted poor puddinhead's susceptible brain"

"poor puddinhead's susceptible brain" = Sheep or Homgenous Herd. Thanks for putting your previous post on this into a perfect context.

  • yes I think that George W. Bush is the most incompetent and deceitful president in history thanks to Neocons. I said what I think of the the Neoconservative movement and it's effect on the Republican party and GW. I did not include you but if you want to include youself we can discuss it.

  • "poor puddinhead's susceptible brain" = Sheep or Homogenous Herd. Thanks for putting your previous post on this into a perfect context." Before GW ran for office he had failed at everything. He was handled well by Rove et al as governor. Except for his arrogance he was a perfect Neoconservative tool. I said at the time I wouldn't hire him to run water. I was right RedRules4Real .

  • She doesn't get it, the war in Iraq has been over since "Mission Accomplished" and we WON. What we've had since in Iraq is called "Reconstruction" -rebuilding Iraq. Although it's complicated by fighting an insurgency with terrorists and the deposed Baathists who supported Saddam. It seems the Democrats side and embolden those who want to deny the Iraqis democracy and a better way of life. Democrats need to fund the troops to secure and rebuild Iraq, then redeploy the troops home.

  • I get it, she gets it and you get part of it RedRules4Real. It's the arrogantly conceived, poorly planned, incompetently executed occupation that lost the peace and Democracy in Iraq. The bungling began before the Middle East ignorant Bremer's 3wk prep. Then, against Generals, CIA & Powel's wishes he made unemployed and angry 50,000 Sunnni (with mgt. skills) and 500,000 armed soldiers. Sunni boycotted elections, instant insurrection requiring political solution involving the region.

  • "It seems the Democrats side and embolden those who want to deny the Iraqis democracy and a better way of life" is partisan rhetoric with all the lack of reason that usually attends it. It was unreasonable and foolish to attempt to dispense Democracy at the point of a gun, especially in the Middle East, in the first place. Now the failure caused by arrogance and ignorance demands a regional political and diplomatic solution not a military one. Our presence inflames insurgents not Democrats.

  • EM says. "It was unreasonable and foolish to attempt to dispense Democracy at the point of a gun, especially in the Middle East, in the first place." That's a fallacious argument, the truth is, had Saddam fully complied with all the UN resolutions since he invaded Kuwait we would not be in Iraq today and who knows, maybe he would be alive and living in France or perhaps even San Francisco if he had complied.

  • An argument is fallacious when it is false or deceptive not because you say so RedRules4Real. 1) True Saddam did not comply with ALL UN resolutions. Neither did many other countries, he had complied enough that the UN inspectors concluded that he had no WMD and they were right.2) Saddam was contained by a no fly zones and other restrictions. 3) Just because a country hasn't complied with ALL UN resolutions does not give another country the right to invade unilaterally.

  • Even if all these things were untrue or invalid my, statement would still stand RedRules4Real. Unlike GW many others and I knew that there were Sunni, Shia and other factions in a tenuous existence in Iraq and warned against invasion. In fact, the entire region was/is volatile because of western incursions and their own differences making Democracy at the point of a gun a stupid idea. Besides Democracy at the point of a gun is an oxymoron.

  • "...Democracy at the point of a gun is an oxymoron." Like in Germany and Japan?

  • Yes it is. Look at the history we did not start a war to promote democracy during WWII a1scam. A democracy at the point of a gun is not a democracy.

  • Maybe Hillary will win the election and everything will just work itself out, or better yet, you run because like all liberals you have already solved all the worlds problems, everyone knows every republican is a stupid ass.

  • Having actively worked with every political stripe, since I was twelve not say that all of any group is stupid. The first political button I wore was "I Like Ike". To this day I don't think all Republicans are stupid. My problems with the GW admin. are the Neoconservative influence, the practice of hiring for loyalty rather than competence and the exclusion of other thoughts. The combination is inevitably dysfunctional. I think we need a cooperative bipartisan government showtime5700.

  • I can agree with that

  • "...elections in December 2005, where 76,4% of registered voters participated..."

Doesn't exactly sound like failure, eh?

  • "...elections in December 2005, where 76,4% of registered voters participated..." what are you talking about a1scam ?

  • If you are implying that 76.4% of registered voters participating in an Iraqi election equals a successful democracy you are absolutely wrong. 1) REGISTERED voters did not include the Sunni who boycotted the elections as well as those afraid to register.2) Many elected officials are controlled by tribal leaders or clerics. 3) Many Iraqis objected to an election run by the occupying Americans. Civil war = no democracy. A democracy requires a representative government not just elections a1scam.

  • "The nationalist Shia cleric Muqtada al-Sadr has ordered his ministers to leave the Iraqi government because of its refusal to set a timetable for US troop withdrawal from Iraq."

"The departure of the six ministers will weaken the Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, who relied on the support of their movement for a majority in parliament. The Sadrists accused Mr Maliki of "ignoring the will of the people" over the issue of a timed American withdrawal." Democracy in action.

  • "Only strength can cooperate. Weakness can only beg."

  • Eisenhower also cautioned against an economically and ethically untenable defense build-up called the "military-industrial complex." The phrase summed up what Eisenhower thought was a growing coziness between government, the armed forces and private corporations; he felt that the U.S. waged war to ensure profit for the defense industry.

"A little knowledge is a dangerous thing" a1scam, stop being a mushroom.

  • War profiteering, oil and the arrogant belief that with an easy victory the U.S. would control the Middle East and dominate the world was puddinhead George's motivation for the war in Iraq. Now that he has, angered the region, weakened our army and embarrassed our nation before the world instead, what is YOUR strategy a1scam? Stay the course? (Yea I know he told you and the rest of the mushrooms that it was terrorism)

  • And easymike lived happily ever after in his fairy tale make believe world.

  • Typical Bushie intellect you have no argument so you insert a Non sequitur. That's why the Bush administration is circling the bowl now. They're all stuck in their insular, intellectually stagnant bubble. Would it be too painful to do a little research to support a logical argument showtime5700?

  • This clown does not have a clue about war.Her party is a bunch of white flag waving, tax raising faggots

  • Since you have so much experience with "war" and "white flag waving, tax raising faggots" why don't you enlist and show everyone how it's done jsxdude?

  • Let's see so those of us who do not support a never ending,NEEDLESS WAR, ARE TAX RAISING FAGGOTS? Just so you know this war has killed up to 600,000 innocent Iraqi civilians and 3,500 American soldiers. This war has cost us 1 TRILLION DOLLARS TO THIS POINT. ALL you can say is that we're tax raising faggots? Can you tell me why we went into Iraq in the first place? Can you tell me why we're still there?

  • Tax Raising Faggots? So since you support this war and the President who started it? Please tell me why we're still there? We went in to get rid of WMD...they never existed....We went in to get rid of Sadam Hussein and his Government....He's dead and his government is gone. So why are there? What should we do,considering Bush's disaster just keeps getting worse and worse. We can't even pump Iraq'soild out of the ground for Christ sakes which is why we really went there.

  • The dems have always raised taxes and are pushing their faggot loving agenda. The crybaby pukes also voted for this war and want to raise the white flag and run like cowards, like they always have.ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC

  • RedRules4Real needs you help with an important project jsxdude. Take the white flag with you. You will probably need a diaper.

  • "learn how to bring a semblance of morality, civility and competence to the floundering opposition." Megadittos...

  • What, you run out of Bushie talking points to parrot so now you imitate me? I'm flattered RedRules4Real.

  • What's truly pathetic jsxdude is your failure to grasp the reality of government. Nobody voted FOR war. Congress authorized the president to go to war IF necessary and AFTER meeting the UN requirements. Bush failed on both counts. In fact name one thing that he has done right during this unnecessary debacle?

  • Whats fucking pathetic is you acting like the un is a credible oraganization.Besides the un gave hussein several chances for years to clean his act up and bush got tired of his lies and bs

  • The facts are that the UN is credible and did sanction desert storm, the UN inspectors said there were no WMD and they were right, Saddam was contained, GW Bush & Co. lied, created one stupid clusterf*&k that did unnecessary harm the U.S. and the world. My screen name is my call sign from the military based on my initials E.M. I am not easy and my name is not Mike. Don't waste my time if all you can do is call names or attempt insults.

  • Since you bring it up it is not the UN that lacks credibility but The United States Of America thanks to the deceitful, illegal and incompetent actions of George W. Bush. BTW "un gave hussein several chances for years to clean his act up and bush got tired of his lies and bs" is inaccurate partisan rhetoric. It sound like you do your research through your friends and Faux News.

  • looks like your boyfriend gave you your username

  • Hmmm, a teleprompter reader, eh. She wants more war in Afghanistan. The biggest "grotesque mistake" here is the American People allowing the left to take Congress. The Boehner and Johnson's speeches are far superior to Pelosi's shrill stuttering, stumbling, read-a-thon. Just awful..

  • What are you smoking while you watch John Boehnner speak?

  • Pelosi's job approval is plumeting, when this happens she usually lays low for awhile until the MSM can build her back up. Another horrible left wing double standard ...

  • The only thing plummeting is your ability to reason along with what's left of the Bush administration's credibility. Your comment sounds like sour grapes and judging from your screen name RedRules4Real, wishful thinking. I suggest that you collect your puerile name calling cohort jsxdude and try to learn how to bring a semblance of morality, civility and competence to the floundering opposition.

  • "Don't waste my time if all you can do is call names or attempt insults." Megadittos...

  • "Why Grandmother, what big teeth you have!"

    The Ghost That Never Lies

  • "In your hands, my fellow citizens, more than mine, will rest the final success or failure of our course."

  • "If you want to view paradise, simply look around and view it. Anything you want to, do it. Want to change the world? There's nothing to it."

    Willy Wonka

See, I can do it too.

  • "In your hands, my fellow citizens ... will rest the final success or failure of our course. Since this country was founded, each generation of Americans has been summoned to give testimony to its national loyalty. The graves of young Americans who answered the call to service surround the globe.

    ...

Can we forge against these enemies a grand and global alliance ... that can assure a more fruitful life for all mankind? Will you join in that historic effort? ..."

  • I think I've made my point about how random quotes are illegitimate.

  • "War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things: the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks nothing worth a war, is worse.... A war to protect other human beings against tyrannical injustice; a war to give victory to their own ideas of right and good, and which is their own war, carried on for an honest purpose by their own free choice—is often the means of their regeneration."

  • You do realize that you are quoting John Stuart Mill, right? The guy whom created Utilitarianism, which is a glorified manner of saying "the end justifies the means"?

  • "Any answer that dishonestly pledged an end to war ... by any imminent, exact date would brand its speaker as a deceiver."

  • Who are you quoting and what is your point?

  • He/she is quoting Dwight D. Eisenhower, and Ike was talking about the Korean War, a war which is still technically ongoing. Using other people's words when you've run out of your own is right above asking The Ghost That Never Lies to make your point for you.

  • "Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, to assure the survival and the success of liberty.

    ...

United there is little we cannot do. ... Divided there is little we can do -- for we dare not meet a powerful challenge at odds and split asunder."

  • words without results are not enough, DEMOCRATS do what you were elected to do, bring the troops home impeach cheney bush for war crimes.

  • its no mistake its 2 fight terror. o wow americans are dumb!

  • I agree , thatbamma should be stripped of citizenship for even suggesting dissent based on the real facts is unpatriotic.

"Waste , fraud and abuse are rampant "

  • Why do libs always meet disagreement with, "well if you support the war why don't you go enlist!" but they cry and whine when I say "well if you don't support this country you can go live in another country that likes leaving jobs unfinished"

  • Jobs unfinished? like heck of a job George did in Afganistan? I'm sure all the troops that were redepolyed to Liberate Iraq's oil were not happy about letting Bin Laden stay FREE in Afganistan/Pakistan. Way to seek Justice for 9/11 George.

  • Not just liberals thatbamma, anyone with a clue understands the stupidity and futility with which the unnecessary war in Iraq has been prosecuted. How will The U.S. benefit from the continued policing of a civil war? How do we solve a violent problem that has no military solution? The only possible solution is political and diplomatic. As a veteran I am offended by all chicken hawks. If you want to advocate war go serve, it'll give you a fresh perspective.

  • See what I mean! You just did it! "Why don't you go enlist?"

  • Yes, if you advocate war, haven't served and are young enough to serve you should join our volunteer army. Too many people in this country have the wrong perspective on war.

  • What if I have flat feet, or a bad back...do I not qualify to support A war?

  • "I have flat feet, or a bad back." That's unAmerican. And all humans have flat feet or a bad back.

  • you're being sarcastic. you must be, because not all humans have flat feet. why don't you go ask a recruiter the difference (i did), and bad back was an oversimplification. there are back conditions that will prohibit service. It's not unAmerican to have conditions you were born here with.

  • In my opinion, no! To do so only exhibits hubris or arrogance. During WWII just about anyone who could move found a way to contribute. We are involved in a pointless war today because of clueless Neoconservative chicken hawks. If you can't or won't serve you have no right to ask some else to die. War is almost never the answer. Those without experience should not make the decision for war.

  • Well yeah, WHY DON'T you enlist? Why can you not answer? You're so flying for the war, instead of making youtube videos, why don't you go and join the troops with poor equipment if you are so against this bill?

  • The right to dissent is American. To suggest that those who dissent should leave the country is un-American.

  • I'm not suggesting it...I'm using it as the ridiculous retort it is in a display on irony!

  • I accept that you are a thoughtful rational person. I was merely attempting to answer your questions.

  • There's a difference between supporting one's country and supporting the policies of its government. The reason the job is unfinished is because it can't be finished, unless you have some grand strategy up your sleeve.

  • No, the reason the job in unfinished is b/c it's a tougher job than anticipated. Go check out my video, "Nancy Pelosi doesn't know what 'support' means" and you might redefine your position.

  • I watched your video and your jejune use of the dictionary definition of the word support to evaluate Speaker Pelosi. From a military point of view support means that you do not put troops in harms way unless it is absolutely necessary and it is vital to the country. When it is vital all efforts are made to secure their safety through proper planning, training, equipment etc. Pelosi and this congress are attempting to correct Bushco.'s failures in these areas. You need to serve to know.

  • I think the purpose our troops are in Iraq is concurrent with the needs of the country. I agree planning was poor and should be remedied. But to me that involves provision of necessary equipment/care. Not to leave, perhaps vital is too strong a word to describe reasons for going in, a NOW vital mission undone.

  • Sadaam was contained before this unnecessary invasion and P. Bremer's occupation of ignorance that set Sunni against Shia and cleric against tribe. Just what do you think our brave soldiers can accomplish now beyond house-to-house combat and dieing? Who is the enemy and how will you when they are defeated? Thanks to Neoconservative incompetence our ONLY hope is political and diplomatic with regional and world support. The best way to support our troops it to get them out of harms way.

  • Do you call 128 violations of a signed treaty over the course of 12 years contained? I call that a blatant disregard for safety in his region, which is what the treaty was supposed to bring about.

  • Yup! At the time of our invasion he was contained. The UN was right and the Bushco lies were ... Well, lies. Sure Clinton had to bomb the pee out of Iraq and the UN inspectors struggled to clear all WMD but he was contained.

  • The reason we are not "finished" in Iraq is because there is no way for the United States to unilaterally resolve a religious civil war militarily. Something Speaker Pelosi understands and you obviously do not. Saying that she is "lying" and "dishonest" is unconscionable. Each uninformed statement that you make lends support for my opinion that chicken hawks should not advocate war. At best they should be taken with a grain of salt.

  • The question is how do you think it will benefit the U.S to police a civil war indefinitely? How much more do you want to deplete our treasury and weaken our defenses? Forget about national pride and ego that was squandered by Bush. What is the best strategy under the circumstances? Keep in mind that the National Intelligence Estimate, most Iraqis. Most U.S. Generals and neighboring countries think the region would be better off if we left.

  • lets at least agree that simply b/c a group of people THINKS the region would be better off if we left, doesn't actually mean it would be better off.

  • Lets put it this way. Staying is hurting the stabilization of the region. We need to systematically redeploy while aggressively involving all parties diplomatically and politically. There is no weapon-based solution. Do you have a problem with the NIE that says our presence is making it worse?

  • Thank God the Democrats took back the House and Senate...at least we are having a debate on the "war" that was sadly lacking for the past six years.

  • screw you right winger nearly 7 out of ten want out of Eye Racki Freedumb starring W Butchoff...look strap on a rifle and get your kicks big man...you're the type that would wear Vietnamese made jeans and still want to fight it there too right?

  • Well done!

  • Meatpie-

Why would you have a political debate in a YouTube comment thread? Then again, I doubt you're interested in a debate.

Why would you post partisan BS in a YouTube thread?

If you want to do a public service, go to a soup kitchen. You're not teaching anybody anything here. You're trolling.

  • i'd rather be cut and run then impulsively-invade and screw up.

  • No I do it as a public service. All our representatives need to be held accountable and I consider it to be aprivilege and obligation. When was the last time you called your representative, wrote a letter or even took the time to read a bill these meatballs draft? Or do you only write your crap and live a very shallow life?

  • The cut and run party has spoken!

  • The purveyor of trite retorts has spoken.

  • Come on. You can do better than that. Or, are you tired from all your other trite repartee.

  • Meat Head. May be you should stop talking crap about the war and go volunteer. I was against the war in Vietnam and yet I volunteered for the national guard despite having a high draft number. Bush cut and war then and didn't atend meetings

  • He's just a troll, no more no less

  • No No its Pork and Retreat
