  • she needs to take koko out clubbin one night. I bet men would still strikeout with her.

  • are gorillas unable to make the sounds humans can? is that why it communicates through sign language?

  • It would be interesting if they asked her is she enjoys her life.

  • I wish she at least had humans that werent retarted

  • Red frown mouth! Awww I wonder if she was a bit concerned or puzzled about why her tongue was pink.

  • Just watching Ellen and Robin Williams was talking about Koko :-D

  • I want to give her a hug!

  • They should get Koko an iPad and see how he does with it.

  • "candy gum" "nut eat" "forget there" "polite"

Translation= Oy! Penny! You forgot my reward! Gimme!

  • So sweet...... I want one.......

  • Zoo keeper's interpretation "pink pink pink pink sleep"

Koko "scratch scratch scratch scratch scratch"

  • koko's iq is higher than all the presidential candidates combined!

  • looked like he wanted some fucking food and water. geez. "Wet..is like thirsty" what? Get some real people to teach Koko.

  • @thericate u dont know what u r saying... dr penny has been teaching koko sign language for over 30 years.

  • 50 Cent? Are you learning???

  • @JamesParkersStuff goood one lol :P

  • @acura130 That's what she said last night.

  • why do they have to give her a mirror?.... gosh... now she probably wonders why she looks so different... and she wants to be a mother so bad, poor Coco :(

  • @squeenie82 It's KOKO you monkey

  • @InstantFilmBooth awww... thanks!

  • why doesnt she feed him? It seems like alot of the words he was signing had to do with hunger and food/water...

  • Hi I'm Koko, I'm a kind loving gorilla that can also rip your head off and shit down your neck...

  • @YSBCITTAR lol!

  • pink pink pink pink sleep" wtf does this show exactly??

  • Koko seems to display far more intelligence than the morons that have posted some comments here.

  • @TheThingseyelike

U NO SAW PLNT OF ABES !?

  • @Shetyre

well she has more intelligence than you

U NO SAW PLNT OF ABES ! enough said

  • ad the end he's like ''wanna f8ck with me?!''

  • Why are YT commenters so stupid? Do they vote up their own comments?

  • Lol it would be funny if Koko suddenly straight punched her in the face for no apparent reason

  • Whether god exists or not (i personally don't believe he does and think the bible and all religious texts should be taken metaphorically and not literally- but that's my opinion) this video is good :)

  • @Bamditzki I can't tell if you were poorly home schooled or just live under a rock. If you are going to argue this topic, show some respect & google what evolution actually is before you make sweeping nonsensical statements. Evolution answers all the questions you are posing, you just don't know enough about it to see that. Basically, you're racing against Lamborghinis in a tricycle. It's comically depressing to the rest of us. It's okay to believe in magic, just own up to it.

  • @Bubbles0luv Magic? Open your eyes and see. There are not atheists in this world. None. All of them know theres something. They feel empty inside. Thats the absence of God. Atheists just dont want to accept it. If God didn't existed then that means that the only thing we would need to be happy is material things and money right, so why does it seem that every rich person is an alcoholic, drug addict and has problems with the law and goes to jail etc?

  • @Bamditzki No atheists? Are you stupid or just ignorant? Of course there's atheists in the world, and I proudly call myself one of them. No, I do not "know" there's something and no I do not feel "empty inside". In fact, since I made my decision to believe what I believe I feel happier than I did when I had Christianity forced upon me.

Why are we even talking about this here? Why can't we just enjoy the brilliance of this one gorilla?

  • @UberNerdMaster Koko is really nice. Now, read my point down and tell me what you think.

  • @UberNerdMaster You feel happy because then you felt like you could sin and do whatever you want without thinking about the consequences(HELL)? Yeah that is maybe why you feel supposedly "happy"

  • @Bamditzki I don't believe in god nor do I feel empty inside. I'm a happy person. I believe in humanity and goodwill. But without god, how do I have morals??? Humans hurt, we are very sensitive, both physically and emotionally. The thought of a fellow human in distress is a thought that drives me to distraction. How can I help?? While you pray about it, I'm actually going to get off my butt and help. Keep praying though, I'm SURE it's helping. It's definitely making you a better person.

  • @Bubbles0luv

    You nailed it.

  • @nlo13 lol, not really.

  • @nlo13 he nailed it yeah.... his eternal life to hell maybe.

  • @nlo13 I Think TheDersek really nailed it lol.

  • @Bubbles0luv I don't have anything left to say to you. Remember these words: I am positively 100% sure GOD exists.

Now, are you as sure and certain as me? 100% sure God doesn't exist? Be honest.

  • @Bubbles0luv Yooo.. its easy to know God exists. And that is: Nature has an order. Earth rotates in the same spot, never moves, just rotates. The Earth rotates in 24 hours from 1 side to the other. EVERY TIME. Someone is in control of it, GOD. The earth is PERFECTLY circular. If it came from a BIG EXPLOSION, how did it end up perfectly circular?

  • @301thViewer Earth is not perfectly round. Isaac Newton first proposed that Earth was not perfectly round. Instead, he suggested it was an oblate spheroid—a sphere that is squashed at its poles and swollen at the equator. He was correct and, because of this bulge, the distance from Earth's center to sea level is roughly 21 kilometers (13 miles) greater at the equator than at the poles.

  • @xpL410 I didn't mean LITERALLY perfectly round. But it is perfectly round.. um.. I don't know if you get what I'm trying to say lol

  • @Bubbles0luv its size is perfect. The Earth's size and corresponding gravity holds a thin layer of mostly nitrogen and oxygen gases, only extending about 50 miles above the Earth's surface. If Earth were smaller, an atmosphere would be impossible, like the planet Mercury. If Earth were larger, its atmosphere would contain free hydrogen, like Jupiter. Earth is the only known planet equipped with an atmosphere of the right mixture of gases to sustain plant, animal and human life.

  • @Bubbles0luv The Earth is located the right distance from the sun. Consider the temperature swings we encounter, roughly -30 degrees to +120 degrees. If the Earth were any further away from the sun, we would all freeze. Any closer and we would burn up. Even a fractional variance in the Earth's position to the sun would make life on Earth impossible. The Earth remains this perfect distance from the sun while it rotates around the sun at a speed of nearly 67,000 mph.

  • @Bubbles0luv The human brain, simultaneously processes an amazing amount of information. Your brain takes in all the colors and objects you see, the temperature around you, the pressure of your feet against the floor, the sounds around you, the dryness of your mouth, even the texture of your keyboard. Your brain holds and processes all your emotions, thoughts and memories.

  • @Bubbles0luv At the same time your brain keeps track of the ongoing functions of your body like your breathing pattern, eyelid movement, hunger and movement of the muscles in your hands.

  • @301thViewer NOW I'M MANUALLY BREATHING!

  • @Bubbles0luv The human brain processes more than a million messages a second. Your brain weighs the importance of all this data, filtering out the relatively unimportant. This screening function is what allows you to focus and operate effectively in your world. The brain functions differently than other organs. There is an intelligence to it, the ability to reason, to produce feelings, to dream and plan, to take action, and relate to other people.

  • @Bubbles0luv the eye can distinguish among seven million colors. It has automatic focusing and handles an astounding 1.5 million messages -- simultaneously. Evolution focuses on mutations and changes from and within existing organisms. Yet evolution alone does not fully explain the initial source of the eye or the brain -- the start of living organisms from nonliving matter.

  • @301thViewer i know you just making a point but im js lol

  • @301thViewer Most of what you said is actually incorrect. You posted 10 comments so I'm not going to go into many precise examples, but the earth is not a perfect distance from the sun. It goes around in an elliptical orbit. The distance could change by about 20,000,000km and we would be just fine. Life might look a little bit different, but it would be sustainable. A day is not exactly 24 hours, and the time for a day actually grew shorter from the earthquake in Japan.

  • @301thViewer The length of a day is now 0.0000018 seconds shorter than it was a year ago. Not to mention leap seconds and leap year. The moon is negligible, and it is also moving further away from us very slowly. So, in conclusion, the things that you claim to be perfect are actually from from it.

  • @Bubbles0luv Why does it seem that a poor christian old woman is 1000x happier than all of the famous people in Hollywood? We CANNOT fake happiness, or can we? No because then everyone would be happy and there wouldn't be so much murder, abortions, wars, hate, anger.. (All of this predicted in the Bible thousand years ago).

  • @Bubbles0luv If God didn't existed why does people say "Money doesn't buy you happiness"???? Then what does??? What do we humans have to do to be HAPPY? God, God, God.

  • @Bubbles0luv this @bamditzki dude got a hell of a point there...

  • I wish Koko could teach other gorillas sign language and generations later bam we got new society?

  • Many animals have higher awareness levels. Most do, we just don't relate to them in ways that would help us understand often. Even plants are conscious beings, and are fully capable of conversation through chemical signals.

  • Wonder what Koko would do with an iPad....

  • and then cesar tears into the room and liberates koko from her human oppressors as she takes her rightful place in the ape uprising

  • @malefictarium the Ape uprising lol! good one!

  • SHUT! UP!!

  • anyone who doesn't believe that humans evolved from apes is blind..

  • @FFScantgetadamnname No-one believes that we evolved from apes. The idea is that humans and apes share a common ancestor.

  • @Flubly and no-one isn't a word. i can point out trivial discrepancies too.

  • @FFScantgetadamnname Seeing as how words are subjective constructs and evolutionary ancestry has to do with objective claims, that comparison is meaningless. Don't take factual corrections personally. A lot of people do believe that the theory of evolution states we came from apes, and so I addressed your statement in order to keep that misinformation from spreading. Obviously its a small small attempt, but it took me less than 10 seconds to write, so who really cares?

  • @Flubly

yes if only more people knew that they would stop asking "so why arnt monkeys evolving into people today"

  • koko says "give me some F8cking food and water"

  • @PhantomCaptin you can swear, its ok.

  • @PhantomCaptin u kno i have seen it every where and i still dont get it....

whyyyyyyyyy..... do peps feel the need to censor them selves? like f*uckin, &*^%, f***, and f8cking

*sigh* i dont fuckin understand why they do that shit, i mean u brought it up and we kno what what u are saying so censoring ur self serves no purpose really

    so...? what the fucking fuck?

  • how long do gorillas live up to? I saw on wikipedia that koko is 40, is she expected to survive much longer?

  • Qur'an talks positively about "teaching animals".

  • The more we understand apes, the more we understand our own progression from ape to human.

  • what happen if put Koko with another gorillas ?

  • i think she is saying she wants to fucking eat

  • This is such a simple but amazing thing. I've literally been sat here like :O whut.

  • Koko: "Where the f***k is ma make up"!!!!!

  • @AguilaJR funny, in another video she clearly wants lipstick but gets powder. In the Betty White photos she seems to be fascinated with her lipstick, and this one with the pink marker. Such a lady. <3

  • I was satisfied that apes are in the human range of intelligence when I saw how much Koko loved being around Fred Rogers.

  • asimo already has the intelligence of like a10 year old HAHA because it is 10 years old.....

machines are the future not apes.. because, WE ARE PRIMATES!!!!!!

  • @piemanrocksyea

By your rational, ASIMO is the future. The apes are not. Let these beautiful animals, with emotional depth that the machines could never attain, go extinct. Let them be tortured in science labs. Let their forest home become destroyed because of human's insatiable desire for things (wood and coltan). Machines are more important.

What will the machines say about you, organic and wastefully emotional being? An ape's relative. You are not the future. So go all the apes.

  • world.honda.com/ASIMO/

  • Sparkly gorilla > Sparkly vampire XD

  • 3 christians disliked this video

  • @rosewell1983 haha

  • @rosewell1983 dont be stupid

  • @rosewell1983 your a retard who thinks humans evolved from apes lolol

  • @MrScripterAndCoder Humans did evolve from earlier hominids which are related to modern apes. The fact that you would call rosewell a "retard" while denying the undeniable proof that humans are infact part of the primate family doesn't make you look very intelligent.

  • @MrScripterAndCoder Apes are part of the primate family, which shared a similar ancestor with humans over 7 million years ago. The evolution of humans is in our fossil record. The DNA from ancient humans, when we were another species (multiple species) is inextricably linked to our own DNA.

  • @rosewell1983 i get the joke but actually christians would be the ones to marvel at creation and the intelligence of animals as opposed to saying this type of creature just ....happened, by chance, with the odds being trillions to one.

  • @rosewell1983 Hey I'm a christian and I love this video ...

  • @rosewell1983 I'm Christian, I think this is amazing!

  • @DecepticonTroops no one cares what Christians "think"... if that's what you call thinking...

  • @ilshockll I know Christians have a bad reputation, but in truth there are some form evolutions I believe in. This is great! I marvel the idea of intelligent animals like Koko.

  • @DecepticonTroops

Officially the catholic church supports the full theory of evolution and the big bang theory. There is no part of evolutionary theory that Catholic Church doesn't support. It's just the modern half wits who live mostly in the US and other third world countries who believe there is a distinction between micro and macro evolution.

  • @JamesThWilliams Now that's cool!

  • @rosewell1983 Indeed they should come up with a new fairy tale

  • @Seancui283 im christian and i love this video dont know where u get that i dont like it

  • @rosewell1983 WE AINT NO GIT DURN APES

  • @rosewell1983 lol use some logic. put pieces of a watch in a box, move the box and call me when all the pieces fall into place making the watch work. Oh, Impossible. Someone has to put all the pieces. Just like God had to create the universe. LOGIC.

  • @Bamditzki No, it's not "logic", because you are assuming the pieces go into the box in an advanced state, just waiting to be assembled. That shows you don't have even a rudimentary idea about how evolution works. And yet you feel compelled to attack it.

  • @nojyt Sorry but thinking the perfectly human body was created by coincidence, making us MEN and WOMEN, so we could procreate, its crazy. Evolution didn't think "Let me make male and female!" or did it? And what a coincidence, evolution made both genders in all animal races too! naah.. impossible.

  • @Bamditzki lol

  • @Bamditzki Your problem with evolution seems to be that you can't get your mind around it. That's ok. But it doesn't make you right. As a biologist, being told that evolution is "crazy" is like a pilot being told that his airplane can't fly. The person telling you these things is totally convinced of his opinion, even though you KNOW he is wrong because of everything you've seen, read and done.

  • @nojyt Everything i've seen, read, done and FEEL is what makes me a Christian. So.. yeah..

  • @Bamditzki I guess by that comment you are suggesting that our points of view are equally valid. The problem is that my point of view has been tested and measured with numbers. Your point of view is based on the word you capitalized: "FEELINGS". (By the way, you seem to be assuming that science and Christianity contradict each other. Turns out the Roman Catholic and Orthodox churches have both accepted evolution. Maybe there is room for science in Christianity after all...)

  • @nojyt Did some numbers proved the earth created itself? lol please.. get that blindfold out of your eyes.

  • @TheDersek Again, it's like telling a pilot that you know for sure his plane can't fly. The pilot's been up in the air all morning enjoying the view, but you insist it's impossible. The irony is that you say I'm the one with the blindfold. :)

  • @rosewell1983 LOL

  • and this is how the Planet of the Apes starts

  • This ape deserves all the love us intelligent humans are willing and able to give.

  • wanted to eat with pink tongue and then sleep

  • pink pink pink pink sleep

  • Such an amazing creature

  • Just WOW. Thank you for uploading these video's

  • yall seen the rise of the planet of the apes shitttttttttttttomg

  • @TheEmmanuelsanchez have you seen rise of the machines?

well any terminator movie old and new.. you should be more worried about that seeing honda has a robot that does more things then koko can do them faster and better

  • @ashleyleaves You got some point - people killing them are also bad thing, I can only hope this "action" help with it ... seriously doubt though. On the other hand. People want to save only certain species - those that's "cool". Biggest hypocrisy of all is people's love for dogs and ... "apetite" for pigs who are just as intelligent, though not so "sweet" as dogs. Still, I can agree that apes are a lil different since they're so much similiar to humans ...

  • @BizarreCocktail But again, if you think that gorilla is a "person" or human, then you are out of your mind. Apes are "designed" to live in the jungle. Of course killing them isn't ok, cause it's not needed. But like I said - they're made for jungle, taking them out of it and trying to make them live human live is also a mistake.

Yes, we should fight with gorillas hunters, but that's it. Other than that just leave them be in their natural world - which, again, is jungle and fellow apes.

  • @BizarreCocktail Also remember - different species are dying every day and that's also a natural thing. We simply won't save every each of them and hell, we shouldn't, cause it would be a world wide disaster. Species come and species go - and hate it or love it - but that's natural also.

Also, just like George Carlin said, "We can't even take care of ourselves yet & we gonna 'save the fuckin' planet' ?" :) Heh, actually watch his "The Planet Is Fine" joint, maybe you'll get what I mean.

  • @BizarreCocktail , it's because we're curious.

  • Not to mention that teaching apes communicate with people is pointless and terrible. Every specie has its own limits, you simply won't make a human out of gorilla and vice versa.

Just leave them how they are, do people need to control every goddamn thing on the world?

  • Why people need to put their nose in literally every thing on the world? Why we need to find out about gorillas or how they communicate, how inteligent they are? Why? What for? Shouldn't we leave them to themselves? Would you like same gorillas taking over the world, put you people in cage and "teach" their habits and language? That's awful.

It's just another arrogant try to control the nature. Sick.

  • @BizarreCocktail Studies of language development in primates have had yielded groundbreaking results for how we understand language development. Implications from these studies are invaluable. Koko isn't being tortured or imprisoned; she's learning a way to communicate what she's thinking to humans. If she didn't want to learn, then why would she? Its not like they shock her if she doesn't sign something right. This research can help kids who are deaf or have language learning disorders

  • @BizarreCocktail Also, showing a gorilla's true abilities and intelligence can raise awareness of what a wonderful species they are and they things they are capable of.

  • @BizarreCocktail I understand where your coming from, but as long as Koko's happy and loved what's the harm?

  • scary bigfoot

  • Уничтожить хачей,нигерров,жидов,кассоглазых,индусов,а горрил на месте их желищь развести!

  • Gorillas are fascinating. Chimps are more intellegent, yet we see alot less stuff like this from them. Is it because they are more restleess and aggressive compared to chimps? Hence they can calm down enough to sit and learn. Maybe thats the only differences. The lack of overt aggression.

  • @AAAhmed46 Chimpanzees are more violent then Gorillas.

  • @MasamuneAzure

    I grossly mis typed.

I meant that chimps are more aggressive, and that gorillas are far far far less agressive. Chimps are more intellegent, yet utterly more violent and seemingly less focussed than gorillas.

So they seem to learn alot less stuff, or show less signs of personhood than gorillas.

  • @AAAhmed46 Bonobos are really peaceful and probably the most human like ape. Even so that some scientists think they should be specified under the Homo genus, which is the same genus as humans.

  • @AAAhmed46 Actually Chimps are more aggressive than Gorillas, but Gorillas aren't deemed "safe to handle" because of their size and society's misunderstood perception of them.

  • @mandalorian9

Yeah i know, i just made a bad grammer error that made it look like i said Gorillas are more aggressive.

What i meant to say was, CHIMPS. Do chimps not demonstrate clear communication compared to gorillas because they are more aggressive and thus harder to teach? They are obviously more intellegent than gorillas, yet there does not seem to be a chimp version of Koko.

Is it because gorillas are far more gentle than chimps?

  • planet of the apess!!!

  • I didn't know Gorilla were that intelligent! Wow! Nice video. Thank you.

  • shes trying to remember how to say water :/

  • I can't believe people still poach wild apes. The level of sentience in these creatures is amazing. This demostrates amazing intelligence among apes. The only thing I can see that differs them with humans is their natural primal instinct.

  • @emjaiz Humans still poach each other.

  • that gorilla can go crazy and eat her.

  • @gspsucks

  • @gspsucks please tell me you are joking apes are vegetarians

  • @crazyapes89 ever see the video of chimps hunting monkeys

  • @bmwandcadillacftw like this? watch?v=f3b4b0eiYvU

  • @crazyapes89 im not being literal, just saying that ape can go crazy any sec and fuck her up. did you see the lady whose face got torn off by a chimp

  • @gspsucks

Chimps are known to be agressive but gorillas only agressive if you provoke them.

  • @bosozoku1000 so if i put you in a cage with that gorilla for 10 hours, you wouldnt be scared?

  • @bosozoku1000

Most of us would be scared but if you know how to behave you will stay alive.

  • @gspsucks Gorillas are extremely calm. Humans, for example, are much more violent primates. We are a bit like chimps. It's quite easy for them and us to react violently in threatening situations. Gorillas usually take it easy.

  • @Ulterduck well this gorilla here seems pretty pathetic but i bet a real wild gorrila living in the jungle would fuck shit up if it got the chance

  • @gspsucks No. Gorillas in the wild are peaceful. Silverbacks would only attack if he or his troop is in imminent danger, such as you shot a gun, or he sees a jaguar.

  • @MasamuneAzure would you pet a silverback on the head?

  • @gspsucks There's a difference between being at ease with a gorilla, and pissing the shit out of it.

  • @MasamuneAzure lol. people pet horses and dogs, they don't freak out

  • @gspsucks O.o are you really comparing... different animals take different actions and sign differently. Petting a Gorilla is telling the gorilla that it's inferior to you, when it's obvious it can kick your ass. And second, horses and dogs are domesticated animals. Don't compare a wild animal to an animal that has been domesticated for hundreds of years.

  • @MasamuneAzure, i think pitbulls need to go back to the wild cuz their trouble makers.

  • I love how Rise of The Planet of The Apes acted like the orangutan could communicate well with sign before the serum.

  • must be frustrating for koko in her head she probs has a detailed thing to say or talk about and she only has a few ways to sign it :(

  • koko is thirsty!! get her some water u dumb?

  • Gaborey Sidibe looks good

  • aww. cute.
