@hardyharhar9 Roger that. And yeah, I know he was Austrian... The footage was silent, so I just used YouTube's "Swap Audio" feature where they come up with a list of tracks that are of the same length - there's a link to the track used right under the hit counter (lower right below the video).
Wow, what a cool comment. Sorry, I did not put a space between A and L, that would drive me crazy too. Ford and General Motors contributed to making those aircraft by the way, not the "Jews'. All I am reminding you of is that the USA did not fight the war alone or even close to it, hence the title of 'World War'. History? The Germans started falling back after the Battle of Kursk in 1943. I wont comment on Race/American Banking system either. USA+England+Canada was D Day. Axis vs Allies
Disable automatic updates * If by "Allies" you mean "Allies of the US", you are correct. However, American pilots, planes and numbers handed the Germans' ass to them, on a platter, with a check, gratuity not included. Keep reading your history book to the chapter that covers 1944-45.
@f11at125 Actually 'Allies' of Great Britain. Canada, Austrailia, New Zealand, Russia and so were at war for nearly 3 years before America even got involved. It was not until 1943 when the 8th could get enough into the theatre. If Germany never declared war of USA, it is debateable if America would have even helped in Europe. I know the 8th Air Force did ALOT, but remember...it would have been impossible to invade Europe if 12 million Germans were not tied up on the Eastern Front.
@SkylineNation Perhaps the Germans should have hired more clever, more Jewish engineers - the sorts that came up with B's 17 & 24, and not the sort of manacle-wearing stooges that greenlit the He-111. The sorts of Jews that knew that "a lot" represented a sum total of two words.
the allies got raped real good, the luftwaffe admittablly had the best pilots and aces and best fighters but the least numbers, they were like the french at the 17th-18th century, kicking europe's ass with small numbers but good quality (and end up bieng outnumbered 10-1) spitfires sucked, they were very lightly armored because they wanted it to be more agile and even failed, it was'nt more agile then the ME 109 and carried weak 30. cals which proved no use in intercepting bombers (and fighters)
If you look closely you'll some of the first rounds hit right in the tail section, so certainly the tail gunner was taken out right away, then with the ball turret hanging so far down it's likely he was taken out too, but even then with several direct hit and a couple of flame ups it's still flying ... must have frustrated the attacker that with so many hits it was still flying.
@slippery396 The ball turret with weapons in "down" position let's you know that the gunner is out of the turret. Then it is most likely that the tail is also out of his position - and out of the bird . The pilot is probably waiting for all crew out b4 he jumps -after putting the auto pilot on .
Probably most of the gunners were dead. I'm sure it wasnt abandoned because the landing gear comes down in the last frames (it's like a white flag for pilots) and after that the german stops shooting and leave.
@Altairw well spotted & I think he tried to pick off the tail gunner from distance & then gave him some more as he closed in- sure he was gone.. but I think he only stopped firing to avoid colliding
@bazookasawaserpent it's German, you know the language English developed from, when the Angles, Saxons and Jutes went to where England (Angle-land) is now - in 800, thus making England a Germanic language. French, is basically pig Latin, as is Spanish, as those are Romantic, Latin derived languages.
If anything I think that last clip is a testament to the incredible durability of those B-17's, always well known for nursing their crews back home with basically half the plane still together. That last one got an absolute hammering from those german cannon shells, and hit in what seems to be 3 out of the 4 engines- no fire, no explosion, no large sections of wings coming off...what a plane, I've always admired them.
I remember as a kid I went to an IPMS meeting where they were showing a bunch of Luftwaffe gun camera films and we had a bunch of ex-bomber pilots in the room. When the lights went up you could have heard a pin drop. The silence had a very eerie feel to it. It was like a flash back for these poor guys.
I read the autobiography of the lad who made the close kill of the b17. He said that it had been attacked several times hense he closed very near on his attack run as most of the gunners appeared innactive

playign a world war 2 simulation, i know that the 109 is perhaps the best world war 2 aircraft ever (opinion). shooting the b17 at its wingtip is weakest spot.
Agreed, some real warriors in america but mostly recruited allover world (like waffenSS) mercs in us army if yanks didnt know xD and using facism in name of some martiallaw/policestate as newest goverment.. plus all "look our warmachines!" DO YOU YANK know where your army gets its "fancy" equipment? in jets US is in top3 but its onlycause stealing all from nazis
(me-262 to F-x's)
(Ju87G to A10's)
(komet, flyingnaziwing etc experimental JETS got the USAF logo.. cause "adopting" nazitech
Not so sure about that. Both the Meteor and the P-80 were well into flight operations by 1944, before allied engineers got a good look at the Me-262 or He-162.
And Pan...88, take a pill. The US equipment of today is well beyond the wildest dreams of the Reich. Willi Messerschmitt or Ernst Heinkel never outclassed American aviation geniuses like Johnson, Seversky, Kartveli, and dozens of others. The German technologies were used to learn what could be learned and gauge future USSR tech.
Wow, FutureofthePast, NEVER has anyone with any knowledge of post-WW2 tanks claimed the King Tiger was the "base" for anything post-war. Do you know nothing of tank design or use? Now the Panther...Then you would be much more correct. The Panther was a very modern, balanced design.
I won't even get started on your Hs.129 "base" for A-10. So any modern aircraft that has a similar mission is based on your great German past?
Well, there's a certain amount of truth in the Hs.129 thing, as it was among the first planes that were specifically designed for the anti tank / CAS role and as such an inspiration for all that follows.
The Tiger thing is obviously total bullshit. The Panther and especially the Soviet T-34/85 were much closer to modern tanks.
I am pretty sure that the '17 in the last scene is either abandoned or the crew are all KIA; the ball turret isn't moving and the (German) pilot seems to have the luxury of slowly following in the 17's wake. If the tailgunner were breathing, the German might not have been.
Would it not be possible that the ball turret gunner had already left the turret by climbing back into the plane? The angle of its guns would suggest that the exit hatch would be inside the plane in that position. Plus the guy would need to go that way in order to retrieve his 'chute. The 110 pilot has obviously targeted a lame duck because it's not in formation with other B-17's. Are those crew or just debris falling away early in this sequence?
this lame duck was attacked within formation, with damage its slower than other bombers..omg how clever you are lol. its like wolves hunt.pick a victim, take away from hord and kill it..what else? every b17 had 30 mg barrels...
@f11at125 A Me 110 shooting he slowed down takin out tail then under gun turret then final coup de grace..the crew were gone or well dead. or pilot ordered bail out before it must have been a separation attack. when a crippled bomber leaves formation.
Is that Mozart?
