I have seen part of this documentary ,infused with another, that already implies that the powers that where have already started.Chemtrails spraying aluminum, barium ets ,as well as nano blood cells are being infused into our bodies without our approval, via air we breath ,onto everything and are producing crystaline forms inside our bodies. If you think about it,computers are made with crystals. This is all done in secrecy and it makes, atleast to ask WHY?If all this is to benefit mankind, why secret
a downside could be ... as we supposedly become machines... we are also computers, which can also have there software wiped out,DELETED ,DOWNGRADED INSTEAD OF UPGRADED..WHO KNOWS.?? .... Even become toasters... funny ha.... crazy people with so many fears...DEATH IS THIS MANS FEAR SO...GO FIGURE...He could actually wipe out the world because of his fear ,or his unexceptness of death and obsession ,could....sad WE ARE THIS ALREADY... BUT UNAWARE OF IT,
Unless you could endlessly expand your intelligence into your immortality I wouldn't want to live forever. Growing dumber and dumber than the one's that follow sounds awful.
Call me a geek but it's like these guys are following the steps of movies. In another words, get ready to fight zombies if this shit turns wrong and pray for Morpheus to find Neo fast if AI becomes aware of how destructive the humans are.
But why would smart AIs allow us to live at all?? There would be no logical reason for them to allow us to exist. WE use up the eart's resources, but THEY can think better than us, and use less resources.
@DamionCrane For the same reason we allow to live the other animals, lets called it "humanity". I think the reason why violence and unjustice things happen, is because we are new to this intelligence, and some are refusing to the union. But in the future we will all be united as one, there will not be violence, or resistance to change. We will all become single cell of a large organism, in the same way michotondrias became part of us.
What is a soul? What is the definition of soul? Isn't it awareness? Awareness is everywhere already. All is connected and aware. But so many humans are the ones who are not aware of that awareness. When a robot becomes aware of itself it will seem like a huge step for us, shocking, and scary. But its not necessarily dangerous. Why should it be more dangerous than humans who are smart, have financial power and are greedy and have no conscience? I would rather see robots with a high conscience.
Regarding "spirituality" or religion, why would that all of the sudden not be there any longer when we have feeling robots? Makes no sense. It will most likely be the same as it is now. I see horrendous fear in people when they talk about their religion, when they talk about their religion possibly being made obsolete. This fear itself tells us that their religion is limited and unopen. A hundred years ago people would have said the same thing about the Internet "replacing" their religion.
Technology is unstoppable. Technology is neither good nor bad. Human greed is bad and absolutely can use it for its advantage. And it will. But that still does not make this type of technology bad. Everything in life has light and shadow. There is no light without the shadow. You can't even see light nuances without seeing shade nuances. Dr. Ray Kurzweil is an atheist. Does this make him a person without love? No. Not at all. Does it mean that one who is religious is necessarily good? No.
Wow this dude is more extreme then I thought. I agreed with him until he started saying will be like god. No one can be like god. God will always be able to do more things AND will always be MORE INTELLIGENT cause god has infinite knowledge and we don't and never will. We'll just be a race that has a lot knowledge that makes life last longer and a race that will never have infinite knowledge or have immortality.
@2WayRadios You are committing the logical fallacy of begging the question, or circular reasoning. If you're going to give a proof of God's existence, you're going to have to do better than that.
"Free Masons help to build a better world through a unique and worthy process of building better men to live in it. The Free Mason Motto is: "Better men make a better world."" - masonic-lodge-of-education.
personally all this talk of enchancing technologies is both dangerous and exciting. certain advantages possibly more disadvantages.
*I completely agree with everything u say although when people see dangerous disadvantages they create other technology to make it less likely or put security measures in the technology to make those dangerous disadvantages less likely to happen
This is completely soulless. It's more dangerous than nuclear weapons It has the ability to complete hijack the course of humanity. This is unquestionably non-spiritual. We don't even agree on what is the essence of man - how dare they b so arrogant as to completely write-off the whole spiritual reality?!
This is terribly chilling. Defining man as intelligence - OMG, how terribly shallow. I'm deeply shocked & disappointed - & glad this video has brought this to public awareness. We NEED 2 know
@TheseEyesGod If God is omnipotent, and is the creator of all things, has given purpose to everything, and has determined everything that has and will happen, then who are you to say that the singularity is the wrong course for humanity? By having a deterministic view of the world, how can you be critical of it, if that's the way God planned it in the first place? I'm always amazed at how religious people are so blind to their fallacious reasoning.
I am not religious at all - spiritual is different. And I don't buy all of your assumptions about God or Source. We create the "future" in each moment, so I am not deterministic, either. I guess some of your reasoning is fallacious ;-)
@TheseEyesGod I was simply raising points that many Christians tend to make without critically thinking about them. My assumption was that you held the same beliefs, which was my mistake, but I certainly wasn't presenting my own beliefs. The point is that religious or spiritual thinking isn't based on objective reality at all. So how can you call someone else arrogant when there really is no basis for the world view you have? Seems to me a case of the pot calling the kettle black.
I guess you didn't notice the wink, and the use of your own words (fallacious reasoning), so you didn't see the humor. I don't enjoy communications laced with aggression, so I'll just reply this last time
1st, your reply is to the intro of what I was saying - ignoring some salient points. 2nd, I'm not afraid to do my own thinking, so I don't need a bunch of other people to validate my views. 3rd, you're right about religious thinking, but not about spiritual.
This man's god is progress - he sees in it only good. What has been done with our techno advances, so far? The elite have kept the best of them for themselves. It's been used to create better weapons and surveillance devices. What makes us think this will be different?
I can see only the rich getting the best of this - then becoming a super class among us - far outstripping "regular" man's abilities. We then - again - become the servant class. Can also see wars over this - easily. I vote NO
Rather than AI dominating humans or humans dominating AI, it seems that humans would simply /become/ the AI. Reproduction would be replaced with replication and technical innovation. As for those without the means to incrementally "upgrade" themselves and are left behind, their fate depends on those who transcend. Whether emotions & ethics survive. As for waging war on AI, I doubt it's even possible, with all the people trying to do it, unless you exterminated everyone with access to technology.
Sure, it is easier to beleive in popular science what uses widely circulating terms, terms what are based on scientific theories like that of evolution through abiogenesis and biogenesis. But for a thorough analysis, these do not stand, they remain only plausible theories, and not facts. Yet they are treated as facts, and they make up today's mythology. People just need things to believe in. History will show that this is not the path of the future, at least not for all of humanity.
Actually, he is believeing in being saved. He just calls it being backed up.
Well, as in case of data on my computer, there are some data worth saving, and some which are not. I am sure, that he believes that all human beings are worth saving in this way. The problem is that he tries to invent the wheel, because unbeknowst to them, any value what human beings have created in themselves, is already saved beyond the portal of death, with a "to be continued" label on it.
Human being have all the right to take themselves seriously. From a christian perspective, would you not take a being seriously what has been redeemed by the sacrifice of God ?
We are not taking human beings seriously when we see them as sheep, but we are not taking them seriously either wehn we see them as meat carcasses, like materialist science does.
As about the AI and technology aspects I have said all I wanted in the comments of part 1.
I think i understand what you are saying. Well when technology comes to the point that it would allow us to live forever it wouldn't be restricted to the elite or first world countries. It would be available to everyone especially since by the time the singularity would come around we already would be very advanced compared to today. I think we would have developed many things like true nanotech which has so many applications that these problems would already have become irrelevant.
The movie feels like it got really convoluted once all the religious bull started. I for one find the inclusion of baseless beliefs in a movie of scientific progress very stupid.
It was ironic when the christian radio talk show host said that if we worship tech we may take ourselves too seriously. According to the bible we are the damn center of the universe?
at about 19:00 it starts to be weird. what happens to any motivation once intelligence and execution of thought become so detached from a finite time to live or a finite body? it seems almost similar to cosmetic surgery, sure you can look 20 years younger if you can afford all that.
@lololololol47 i guess I am trying to wrap my mind about the idea that AIs can be real people, and what does that mean for the over 7billion people that are already on the planet. all would strive to be around in one form or another forever. In the process are we still thinking about solving problems such as hunger or poverty. Technically we are already able to feed everybody but we are not doing it. So do you think science should be concerned about is to live forever?
Would we need money in this future?
